all excellent, we had an excellent family stay, the service is excellent, the acauatico park is phenomenal excellent service from the lifeguards, the pool waiters excellent service the areas very nice and clean, I loved the room all excellent we will return very early.
This place is absolutely awful! The food has to be the worst food our group has ever eaten. We travel all over and honestly we aren't food snobs. We can appreciate a good Burger as much as a $200 Steak. But this food was next level bad! Its inconsistent you can order the same thing and won't get it the same way twice. Also the Diamond club is a joke. They have very limited Top Shelf liquor which your supposed to get. We by the Diamond Club beach bar all week and NEVER saw them crack a new bottle of liquor. Instead the empty bottle would reappear half way full again. We're convinced they filled them with bottom shelf rock gut liquor. The Jameson Whiskey was Tequila.....I paid $40 to have a special Birthday Cake made and delivered to the Grazie for my wife. I ordered it 2 days before hand. When the time came to surprise my wife the wait staff knew NOTHING! The Manager told me nothing was set up. I blew a gear and they scrambled and got a cake after a 20 min wait. The next day I went to Diamond Club to find out what happened they made many excuses and refused to refund my money. The specialty restaurants are almost inedible. Jade is sooooooooo bad we walked out. At Zen some ppl didn't get chicken at the hibachi table because the chef gave too much out at one side of the table and ran out on the other side. Hunter steakhouse was ok....steak wasn't bad but everything was cold. And Grazie Italian made olive garden taste like a Restaurant in Rome....Bottom line stay clear of the horrible.....horrible resort! …
I guess I'll start with the positives. The beach was absolutely gorgeous. The grounds at the resort were always kept clean and neat. most of the staff were friendly. now for what was wrong... From when we got there, we did not feel like we received "diamond club" service or amenities. waited quite a while to get checked in. when we were shown to our rooms, they were on the 3rd floor, no, we weren't allowed to change them. NO ELEVATORS. that really sucks having to walk up 3 flights of stairs in wet shoes multiple times a day after having drinks at the beach or pool. Speaking of, the pool bar is NOT open. The diamond club area had food and drinks that were sub par at best. no consistency in their food or drinks. you can order the same thing all day, and every time it will taste different. We witnessed staff pouring old liquor into premium bottles at the bar. what I'm saying is.... well drinks into like grey goose bottles. one guest ordered a Jameson whiskey, watched the guy pour it from the Jameson bottle, and it was actually tequila. It seemed nobody really knew how to make a drink there. The food in the diamond club area was worse than the buffet. which brings me to the food portion of this review. based on the food alone.... I will NEVER return to any Royalton owned resorts. It was that bad. everything was way overcooked. The rice however was not. it was near crunchy dry levels. The specialty restaurants were just a new atmosphere for you to be served the nasty buffet food in. The steakhouse had steak you could barely cut with your knife, the "calamari" in the Italian restaurant was like fish scented rubber. I couldn't wait to get home so i could get real food again. Every day we all would have stomach troubles. Thankfully we brought Pepto and Nausene with us. The staff at the Buffet and restaurants were never wearing gloves. You would hand them your plate, they put what you want on it, and pass it back to you. Then grab the next guy's plate and repeat. Not exactly the safest, but i guess it's a risk we all were willing to take for a "meal". Everyone on here saying such good things about this place makes me suspicious. Either they have no sense of what is actually good, or the week we were there was just horrific. Multiple times throughout the week, staff would either have us fill out a survey or answer questions about our stay. Every time we would say please have better food and drinks. we paid extra for the diamond club status, but when we spoke to other guests, they were given diamond club status as a perk. So yeah, I feel like i got duped. There is a language barrier there, so if you are English speaking, you may have some troubles speaking with the staff there. Understandable, as Spanish is their native language. The entertainment was not that great. Every night at 9pm, they would have some variety act or something. Ranging from cover band of the Beatles, which was good, to Spanish Karaoke style entertainment. The shows were OK. Maybe because we were all just bored. On our last night there, we saw a couple of young girls around the ages of 14 or 15 going up to the lobby bar and getting drinks. Didn't think much of it, as they serve non alcoholic drinks too. But then one of them vomited right behind us where we were sitting. and the smell was so bad. I went to the bartender to get the girl some help and to point out that she was wasted and threw up, only to have the bartender ask me i wanted a dirty monkey drink. So i had to play charades and act out what was happening. The bartender then finally got a concierge to show up and "handle" the situation. No parents were to be found around them. This was around 10pm. So in conclusion, if you are looking for a place that has nasty food, nasty drinks, and bartenders that serve alcohol to children, look no further! But again, the beach was fantastic.…
Unfortunately I would say to steer clear. We booked a Luxury Diamond Club room in the Hideaway portion of the hotel and were extremely disappointed. -Hotel staff (apart from checkin) were less than accommodating and welcoming. -Room was very small and unimpressive -Food and drinks were unimpressive -Little to 0 options for allergens (gluten free with celiac for us so we have to be careful) and we were told ahead of time this could be accommodated -Our “butler” was not very responsive or helpful -Noise was loud (people out making noise at the pool until 2am) -Room was dirty -Staff constantly pulling masks down to talk We ended up checking out early and requesting a refund for the rest of our stay and moving to another hotel
I stayed at this resourt the first week of January. The grounds are well maintained and the property is nice. I had a Diamond Club swim-out room and our butler Nazario was amazing! He was very attentive and made us feel so welcome here. The resort has nice dining options and the nightly entertainment was good. I definitely recommend this resort and it;s very kid friendly!!
