Booked through Apple vacations on a square deal. We were guaranteed a 5 Apple hotel in Montego Bay. We were given sunscape splash. On arrival we checked in and then we were immediately sat down and were talked to about a timeshare, the last thing we wanted to hear about right after we arrived. The rooms were descent, the mini fridge had a few bottles of soda, a few cans of beer, and a few small water bottles. The pools were nice. The food was okay, nothing too tasty. The waiter were kind for the most part. The bar drinks were just okay. The pina coladas or frozen daquari drinks consisted of the bartender pouring alcohol and the slush mix into a cup and it was not even mixed. After our first dinner and drink experience, we realized this was not truly a 5 Apple resort. We asked to be transferred to one of the Riu hotels, which we have been to before and loved. Their apple reps at the resort were the worst. They said they could email apple and see what can be done, we even understood and were okay work paying the upcharge fee. After Is checking back for 3 days the apple reps said they haven't heard back and seemed to care less. We then found out that for a fee we could be Sunclub members, which included a few special restraunts And a bar. The manager Gave us access to those places and after our experiences there we realized that was how the sunscape splash got its 5 apple rating. The food was much better and the frozen drinks were made properly. I would still only give this place a 4 apple rating compared to other 5 apple places we have been to. The entertainment staff was okay. Not the best. The foam party was fun and the magic and Acrobat shows were amazing. Overall, we probably would not go back to this hotel, especially for the amount of money we paid. We have spent less and have gotten much better numerous times on our all inclusives.

Location and great staff save the day. My wife and I are on the last day of a weeks holiday at Sunscape Splash. Because we know about 30 other guests who came for a family event, some with children, we shared many minor grouses eg room keys not working, tv not working, no hair dryer, slow elevators, cafe out of coffee or ice cream, no beach towelss ac faulty etc etc. Staff were always friendly and helpful. The way they manage beach towels and lounge chairs is undergoing change and today we were unable to find a beach chair. But after all that you cant beat the consistent sun and cooling wind with ideal ocean temperatures. And food at the buffet is good although We didn’t see any of the entertainment. Music is persistent and loud throughout the day. We had an ocean view room which was worth the premium as we could sit and read on the balcony which is in shade all day. The location is gated and security monitors all who come in and out. It’s not considered safe to walk on the street after dark, or to walk the couple of miles into the town of Montego Bay. We liked our time in the sea and on the beach most. Least liked-the minor inconveniences mentioned above which may be attributed to a facility badly in need on renovation.

Our stay at the Sunscape Splash Montego Bay Jamaica was a very laid back and relaxing experience. There are some aspects of this resort that I would suggest that they upgrade and address to better accommodate their guest. The face of the resort definitely is in need of renovations. The room was very clean and cool upon our arrival which defiantly was welcoming! We absolutely loved that we had a balcony view of the ocean and the pool. The downsides would be that the bathroom tub is in need of upgrades and bathroom ventilation is none existent. If you are someone who loves a HOT shower you must make sure you keep the door shut because the smoke detector WILL GO OFF! AND YES… The front desk will call you to see if you are alright. Naturally, we would assume that a shower curtain would keep the water inside of the tub…not so much the case here. There was water all over the floor near the toilet which we had to use one of our towels to dry up. No biggie…but who wants to clean vacation! haha The food selection was pretty impressive! They offer something that will satisfy even the pickiest eater. Of course being in the beautiful country of Jamaica you will have an array of dishes to choose from to satisfy your palate. My favorite station at the buffet hands down would be the Pasta Station for LUNCH!! When we came up to Ms. Renika at her station throwing down she immediately acknowledged us. She was soo welcoming and friendly! As she prepared our dishes we spoke about where we came from and how I was here celebrating my birthday!! She gave us some amazing suggestions of things to do and see while we were there. She went above and beyond the typical station chef at a resort. To top it off the next day she REMEMBERED US!!! Now I know there are hundreds of people she encountered that day and to remember us and the reason for our visit was the cherry on top. Showed us that she is sincere and attentive to her customers. Much Love to her!! Go see Renika and Sunscape Splash she will mix you up an incredible pasta dish!

Wow just wow we arrived here on may 27 2021 and everything was amazing.
1 The property Now this property is decently sized its not to big and its not tiny. As staying on the cove side you could walk out and be at the beach or the pool depending on what door you go through. There is lots to do here, it looks like it is brand new. I don't have much to say, it could be just a bit bigger thats why I give the property a 9/10
2 Pools and beach There are a total of 4 pools, I believe and all of them meet my expectations. One of them includes a full on waterpark with a total of two waterslides, the thing that impressed me the most was the safety measures there are lifeguards every where and the slides are safe unlike other places that I will not mention. The other 3 pools are a athletics/family pool and another family pool, but the one has a swim up bar. The other pool is a adults only, I would also love to say that there was a additional hot tub. I have nothing to complain about the beach its a little rocky but the water is crystal clear. I rate this a 10/10
3 Cleanliness Around the resort it is pretty clean, although we did have a problem with the bunk beds. we only used the top, the bottom bunk was filthy filled with dust and sand. That was the only problem we had other than that there is no problems with the cleanliness. So for my rate it is a 9/10 I think that you should try just a tiny bit more to clean.
4 The rooms The rooms were actually very nice there was just one wall with a window on the top that made it look dated. The location of the cove rooms is probably the best 1 door leads to the waterpark and the other leads to the beach. Tv worked amazing wifi, But the only thing I would really love to change is the bunk beds. Maybe put more modern ones that fit the room and doesn't look like poles out of a Six Nine music video. So for my rate it is a 8/10
5 The food The food was just amazing. The buffet had lots of different opptions, but the resturaunts, cafe and bars are what really impressed me. I don't even know how many different places to eat there was, but there was many including a Italian, Asian, a caffe that had amaizing ice cream and a buffet. We were on the cove side so we had two additional resturaunts, and there was so many snack bars and drink bars. One thing I really liked was the snack bar near the pool, during the day it was just a snack bar with popcorn, fries, ex but at night it was a seafood resauraunt. For the food I give a 10/10 I wish I could give more.
6 Airline/travel agent We flew with west jet, im not going to get mad because I know they can't control the model of the plane but the entertainment sucked. There was no tvs on the plane. The food wasnt grate either. The bus or as we took van ride was pretty nice it was private so I don't have to complain so I give this a 7/10
Important notes and final review Some important notes are that it is vey close to the airport so you can hear the planes. For my final review I think this is an amazing family resort 10/10 I would definitely recomend.

Took me a while to write this review. The basic rooms are old and run down with old furniture. It smelled musty. There were roaches in the room/bathroom and I went to the linen room a little ways from our room. I turned on the light and at least 50 ROACHES scattered. I reported this and other issues (rooms not getting cleaned daily, smelling musty, small bathroom, no towels, noise). They gave us an upgraded room with beach view. The Jamaican food at the buffet is really good. However, the other restaurants are not good.
I wouldn’t return to this resort unless I had an upgraded room at a CHEAP rate. People are friendly, though and we had fun. Oh, and the basic items at the store (laundry detergent, baby wipes, etc) are like 3-4 times the amount you would pay in the states. Bring your own laundry pods or powder. Also, they only have two washers and two dryers for the ENTIRE Cove/Splash resort.

Horrible Hygiene in the restaurants, (soap is right there but none of the cooks used soap they did a very fast splash of water at best) building crumbling, EVERYTHING there needs scrubbing and or painting, cockroaches in our room, lost all water in the room while I was trying to shower, outdoor hot tubs don't have working heaters so cold, when we had it the shower water crept hotter & hotter to unsafe points, I had to take apart &fix the toilet myself or we would be without a working toilet, the cold buffet food tasted questionable at best, & never had much if any menu change, they advertise many restaurants but only had the buffet and 1 other open at any time(never more than two open in the same night) I heard they "didn't have enough people to make it worth it!" Children's Rec. areas just plain filthy, highchairs with broken safety straps, remote didn't work, huge beach letdown for me were that you are walled in so you can't walk the beach much and guards stop you in rude ways if you even try to get around those walls. By far- bar none the snorkeling was unbelievably dead, I like to snorkel and did so along all the rock walls multiple times (places that should be full of life) I saw only about 5-6 fish & nothing over 3" ! The hotel felt to be half full but they still didn't have enough pool towels or chairs. "club music blasting almost all of the time. Lastly many employees acted as they didn't want to be there & a handful were just plain rude or disrespectful. Even the hotel manager- while talking with upset vacationers spouted out almost as many lies as Pres. Trump lol I have done many trips to Mexico and other resort areas in the Caribbean, nothing like this place

Planned a quick 5 day Vaca for the family thru apple vacations. This place was rated as four stars with all inclusive featuring multiple pools, hot tub and five different restaurants to choose from. We arrived a day late because of plane issues. Although we notified them of the delay they had given our room away and we had to wait upon arrival for them to ready another room. Room and building were not well maintained. Sliding patio and sliding closet door did not operate properly, both tub and bath sink were missing drain stoppers. Mystery light switch in room had probably operated wall fixtures in room which had just been replaced with blank covers. Light in fixture in tub area was not working and very rusted. There were 4 pools available but two of three times I went to get a towel I was told they were out.(not "sorry we're temporarily out we'll bring you one when we have more" just we're out the first night and on another day " check back in an hour") I went back to the room to grab a bath towel for my son to use. (Although we booked room for 2 adults and a child the bath was stocked with only 2 bath towels. I did get more upon request.) The hot tub did not work for our entire visit. Only the buffet and one restaurant that featured burgers and fries were open consistently, one evening the Italian restaurant was open and another the Oriental. Both were about an hour wait when I requested seating. Be prepared to be hounded daily to attend a presentation to get you to join there ultimate vacation club. I passed.

As a travel agent, I feel I must give a candid and fair feedback to all about the Sunscape Splash in Montego Bay. I must say this property did NOT meet our expectations. It wasn’t even close. We weren’t expecting a world class property and had set our expectations on middle of the road.
Countless guest we ran into shared the same problems we were experiencing. We had 2 rooms at the so call 4-star resort. I would NOT call this a 4 star property on a 10 point scale. I made the management staff aware of the many issues we faced. All we received was a cookie cutter response that basically said “sorry”. This is categorically unacceptable. I will not book this for anyone ever again. My 40 travel agent teammates are aware of the issues I experienced and they are staying clear of booking clients at the Sunscape as well. Until things change significantly, I recommend no one stay here!.

Not big on reading reviews on my future travel plans especially hotels. Wanted to check out pics of the Sunscape Splash Mo-Bay. I was a bit concerned at the awful reviews that this resort was getting and my trip was already booked. Well trust in me to ignore the bashing. This resort is super clean, employees are more then friendly, air conditioning is nice cold,towels are plush and plentiful and the food is above average and changed up daily. The kids club is amazing and will come back as the value is excellent here. The only complaint I have is the room I have. Not the resorts fault as I chose the deal of the day. My view of the roof and humm of the air conditioners is not the greatest but who stays in the room anyways on vacation. Good work Sunscape for not letting me down, wish I could extend my stay, love it here

The resort was average. Facilities need renovation especially the pools. Several pool lights sitting on the bottom of the pool, umbrella's need to replaced and more of them and mildew on chaise lounges and wait service at the pool was almost nonexistent. We have no complaints about cleanliness of rooms or facilities. Staff is friendly. Nightly shows were great. Drinks were excellent but the food and service at the restaurants was the most disappointing. Service was incredibly slow, food was bland and not tasty. Buffet was unimaginative and pretty much the same, paying extra for premium wine and lobster on the menu is kind of insulting. This resort has the potential to be a four star pretty easily with attention to detail.
