It’s true, the adults-only Sandals Royal Caribbean in Montego Bay Jamaica has its own private island. On this island, you’ll find Bali-inspired beach cabanas and an intricately positioned Thai restaurant, seemingly awaiting your arrival. This and all the other luxurious elements at the resort, like the Over-the-Water Private Island Butler Villas with infinity pools and Tranquility Soaking Tubs for two in select rooms, were created for that ‘WOW’ factor—and wow it will. With accommodation options like the Swim-Up Crystal Lagoon Suites, 9 distinctive restaurants, 5 bars including swim-up bars, land and water sports and more, the odds are in your favor for a truly memorable vacation. While in Jamaica, don’t miss out on activities like bamboo river rafting, catamaran cruising, and even ATV adventures to make the most of your stay.
Star ratings are intended to indicate the general level of features, amenities, and services to expect. This property is classified according to Giata.
Places to stay are graded on a 0-100 scale. The higher the grade, the easier it is for travellers to find restaurants and things to do within walking distance.

Sandals Royal Caribbean offers a dynamic experience where guests can revel in both high-energy entertainment and serene getaways, although the music may sometimes be overpowering. The resort's cleanliness is frequently lauded, presenting pristine rooms and grounds. While the spacious rooms are clean, some visitors have expressed concerns about outdated decor and maintenance. Noise disruptions, including plane flyovers and construction, have been bothersome for numerous guests.
The staff is generally celebrated for their dedication and friendliness, but some guests have encountered inconsistent service. The hotel's amenities, including pools and dining options, are well-received, yet issues with room features and butler service have been noted. The location is commended for its seclusion and convenience, offering a peaceful setting. However, the value proposition of the resort has been questioned by guests who expect more for their money, pointing to various aspects like room quality and additional costs.

This was our fifth sandals trip and first at the Jamaican Royal Caribbean. The resort was quite small and more quiet then previous trips, if you are looking for a more party/lively atmosphere then check out the other Sandals Montego Bay resort. the good news is that if you stay at the Royal Caribbean you also have unlimited access to the Montego Bay resort as well, so you do get two resorts for the price of one!
The food was excellent, beach and pool are great, all was well and of course the staff were amazing. Our room was excellent, and well cleaned and restocked every day. Turn down service with treats was wonderful! This was our first butler service trip and both Bossi & Kat were exceptional! They did a wonderful job ensuring we were well taken care of.
I would have given a 4.5 or 5 start rating BUT there were just a few things I think could have been better: 1. Sandals is building another rooms/accommodations building which was right next to our building, unfortunately construction started every morning at 6:30 am so we were awake every day extra early, which is exactly what you don't want on vacation. We hoped on the weekend they would have a late start, nope at 6:15 am the power tools and noise commenced...
2. The shuttle service to-from Royal Caribbean & the other Sandals Montego Bay Resort is only every hour (for a 5 min drive) and the driver takes a break from 1-2 pm and 8-9 pm which is prime-time shuttle time (i.e. after lunch & dinner) so the shuttle can be a bit of a hassle or full. It would be nice if it ran every half hour, instead of hourly.
3. The airplanes; the Royal Caribbean is in the flight path of the airport so you see & hear every plane as it departs. We got used to it after a while but it was a bit annoying. It is even worse at the other Montego Bay resort as this resort is literally a road across from the runway. So when you visit the Sushi (Soy) or Steakhouse (Butch's) it sounds like a bomb going off as the plane take off and land.

Thank you for sharing such a detailed and heartfelt review of your first stay at Sandals Royal Caribbean. It’s always a pleasure to welcome you back, and we’re thrilled to hear that your experience continues to be filled with memorable moments. We’re also delighted to hear that butlers Bossi and Kat stood out as exceptional highlights of your stay. We will be sure to pass along your kind words to them, as they truly embody the warmth and service we strive to offer every guest. We sincerely apologize for the disruptions caused by the ongoing renovations and the impact they had on your stay. While these updates are intended to enhance the guest experience, we completely understand the frustration caused by construction-related noise, odors, and debris. Regarding the shuttle transportation between Sandals Royal Caribbean and Sandals Montego Bay, we greatly appreciate your feedback. We will ensure it is shared with the relevant team to address the concerns and prevent similar issues for future guests. We do hope, however, that this does not deter you from visiting us again. Thank you for your continued loyalty, and we look forward to welcoming you back to your home away from home!

We stayed in category BBC beachfront butler suite with balcony room 6307. This is a corner suite with a wrap around balcony. The balcony is amazing and the oceanfront views are breathtaking. There is a walk in shower with rain head and standard shower head, a double vanity, and a toilet. There is no door separating the toilet from the rest of the bathroom. The room was well appointed and very comfortable. Our butlers, Gay Ann and Marjorie were fantastic and made sure our stay was all we wanted it to be. The bartenders, Shawayne, John Carlos, Shevoy, Tracy Ann, and many others, showed outstanding service and made sure that we were well hydrated. Diana, on the private island, is a beautiful soul who you must meet. She’s a parrot. I give this trip 4 stars for a couple of reasons. This is my 5th stay at sandals, and it seems as though the brand is dumbing down the experience. We used to get a complimentary private transfer to and from MBJ airport when having a butler room. They did away with this option. They used to have Grey goose vodka…no longer. They used to have fresh coconuts on the resort and they would slice it open and add Appleton rum (delicious)… again… no more. I even requested it…nope. We had coconuts at our last stay at sandals Negril back in November…not this time. I made specific, reasonable requests for our room prior to the trip by filling out the form…again, not accommodating. Just disappointing, especially since Sandals is commanding $10k+ for some of these rooms, and they have dumbed down the experience. Raise the price and take away amenities….is how it seems. I love the brand, the people, the island, the beach, the views….i just wish they would improve their level of expectation, not reduce it. Lastly, i do wish they had REAL juice…at least 100% juice. Almost every juice they use has added sugar, artificial colors, flavors, this or that…i do not want the added sugar or artificial sweetener. Even the orange juice wasn’t 100% juice…unnecessary additives which are just not healthy whatsoever. Please improve this, or at a bare minimum, have 100% juice as an option for those wishing to not consume artificial stuff. Sandals is amazing…you’ll have a great time….but there is definitely room for improvement. I certainly hope i do not notice even more amenities removed on my next stay which is coming up soon.

This was our first trip to a Sandals resort and we loved it. We stayed 10 nights at Royal Caribbean for our 31st Anniversary. The service was outstanding and we stayed in the Windsor Beachfront walkout unit and it was a perfect location.
Food - There were plenty of options to choose from and everything was very good with excellent service. I'm a vegetarian and there was plenty of options at all the restaurants and buffet. Our three favorites were Bombay, Le Jardinier at Royal Caribbean and Butch's Steakhouse at Montego Bay. Beach and Pools - The beach was nice but a little small but the water was awesome with minimal seaweed. The pool is small but large enough since most people were on the beach. The Butlers do go out early to reserve most of the chairs and good locations so if you want a chair with an umbrella you got to get out to the beach by 6:30am. This wasn't a problem for us since we like to get up early and walk the beach. It was a little annoying that the Butlers took all the chairs and the their guest never showed up to use them.
Spa - We had the BEST couples massage ever. We choose to have the massage done on the private island and it was amazing. We got the 60 minute massage but will definitely go for the 90 minute message next time. We met Cloyo one of our masseuse's on the beach and she not only recommended sunburn recovery lotion since I had bad sun burn we booked our massage through her as well. She was awesome and hope to have her again next time.
Beach Bar - The beach bar and service was excellent with a nice selection of food and drinks throughout the day. We never had to look to far for someone to bring us a drink and there was always someone asking if we needed anything.
Here's a list of team members that made our vacation exceptional.
Le Jardinier - Restaurant Manager - Synovia made sure we got a table right away and she checked in constantly. Chef Ingrid was PHENOMENAL and she went above and beyond to make sure all the guest were satisfied and the food was amazing. Our server Britany was so friendly and nice.
BIG SHOUTOUT to our bartender and absolute favorite Sandals employee Marvin. He went above and beyond to make sure we had a full glass and made us his signature drink the No Problem. Sandals should add the No Problem to their cocktail menu. Horeece was also a great bartender and very personable as well. The main bar had two great bartenders Morris and Mario.
Rolando helo us book our next two trips - Thank You!!

Sandals Royal Caribbean is a beautiful resort that’s more on the smaller side with a quiet, intimate feel compared to ones like Sandals Montego Bay. We really enjoyed the more quiet atmosphere and the fact there were less people. The staff/service are what really shine here, everyone was extremely friendly and helpful. We opted for butler service, unsure if we would like it, and it was absolutely worth it. We had 2 butlers, Gay-Ann and Marjorie, and they were wonderful. They helped us with every question/request we had and took care of things like booking dinners or having a stocked cooler ready when we got to the beach, and even did some more small but thoughtful things like drawing a bath to have ready when we got back from the beach that really took the experience over the top. We greatly enjoyed our time here and definitely plan to go back. Anything that could possibly considered cons to the resort are minor nitpicks in my opinion, aside from Sandals confusing/slightly annoying rebooking specials, and it is worth staying at. We went in February and the weather was amazing, at the very worst it was a bit windy but very warm and no rain at all during our stay.
Pros: - Beautiful grounds/ocean front - Friendly and helpful staff - Excellent food and drinks - Smaller, more intimate atmosphere - Lots of things to do for being a smaller resort - Access to additional restaurants by taking a shuttle to Montego Bay - Everything from getting picked up at the airport to them telling you exactly when they’ll pick up your bags and the bus for your flight leaves is covered
Cons: - Sandals proclaims they offer specials on re-booking but force you to do it while you're at the resort. We were given an advertisement for an additional 12% off a future stay but due to having to leave early in the morning for the airport we were unable to meet with the on-resort rep about it. When I asked later if we could still get the same deal, they said they would not offer it to us. This was the only time they were less than helpful and this was the online customer service, not the resort staff. - Slightly dated amenities, in particular: slow Wi-fi with a purchaseable upgrade when the faster version should be standard for an all-inclusive, older (slightly creaky) beds with not a lot of support, a smart TV was advertised but ours was not (at best you could use it as a Bluetooth speaker). We had to keep our room pretty chilly otherwise because of the humidity the entire floor would get wet and slippery. - Montego Bay in general is pretty far away from a lot of the advertised excursions, anything in Ocho Rios, Negril, or the Blue Mountains is going to be a long bus ride. Our first excursion to Dunn’s River Falls was exhausting and we cancelled our other excursions because of it. - There isn’t a lot of clarity when certain excursions are offered, especially online through the Sandals website. We booked one in advance and found out when we got there it was cancelled because the minimum amount of people didn’t sign up. Don’t book anything in advance, wait until you get to the resort and ask what’s available.
Again, these were minor nitpicks, just thought they were worth noting. Unless you are looking for a very vibrant party scene, you would not regret booking a stay here.

Trip was delayed due to hurricane Milton, contacted Sandals after flights cancelled. They were able to rebook flights and get us new days to stay later that week. We stayed in the newer High Grover building and rooms are large and modern. Tried to call the first day to get some dinner reservation, phone rang and rang and rang. Made one reservation after calling again, so we thought. French restaurant was busy next night with a table of 14 and we were not on the reservation list. but told we had a reservation at Butch's later that week, (at SMB) but couldn't get confirmation of that on the Sandals app.. Walk ups seem to be the normal trend. Being a small resort and expanding with another building of rooms to the west, they might need to open Spices for dinner buffet too. Beach is small and could use more lounge chairs for non-butler guest. Main pool is cloudy at times and needs to be skimmed more often. Pool activities were fun and entertaining. Pool swim up bar was always keeping the drinks flowing and lounge chairs available everyday we sat their. Food is very good at all the restaurant and all the staff are friendly and helpful. Took a day tour to Sandals Negril and Rick's Cafe. It was a great way to see outside Montego Bay area. We rebooked SRC at the resort but may try a different Sandals to change it up. Sandals arrival suite at the airport is a great feature when waiting for transfer. Mobay at the airport was a good deal for departure comfort, but line at SWA to check bags might make it useless as the line was long. TSA lines were short so Mobay express lane didn't make a difference in time for us. 5th Sandals 2nd in Jamaica.

We appreciate your feedback regarding the reservation process and will look into improving communication to ensure guests have a smoother dining experience. It’s also noted that more lounge chairs for non-butler guests and a dinner buffet option at Spices could enhance the overall experience. We’re pleased to hear you enjoyed the pool activities and the friendly service from our staff. The day tour to Sandals Negril and Rick’s Cafe sounds like a fantastic way to explore more of Jamaica! Where to start! Everything was over the top! We splurged and stayed in the over the water bungalow and had the best experience of our life! My wife and I had b=never had "butler" service but both Kishanne and Candice made certain we needed nothing! If you are going to this resort in the butler level rooms I would ask for them but they primarily only do the over the water bungalows.
Gelndon was the chef for our candle light dinner on the beach and he prepared a masterpiece of steak and lobster that was out of this world.
We tried our first EVER resort massage and it was 90 minutes of heaven on earth. We enjoyed them so much that we went back on our last day and Hileaha was kind enough to return on her off day to make certain we received the same level of excellence!
The bungalow we stayed in had the glass floor at the foot of the bed and the water below was extremely clear although we really did not see many fish! The only downside to our bungalow was the pool like ladder you had to use to "drop" into the water. They did provide a floating ring tethered to the ladder that 2 people could float in but getting drinks down to the wring was problomatic!
Everyone asks "would you go back?" The answer is a definite YES. If we decided not to spring for the bungalow we would still shoot for the "butler élite" level room because the butlers really make the experience!
Sandals Royal Caribbean had enough restaurants to choose from the the sister resort is a 10 minute drive away offering yet more dining options. We took a free shuttle there and ate at Butch's and had a decent steak and lobster combination. My wife had the prime rib which truthfully was better than the filet I had

4.7/5 Pros-"Welcome Home" as you arrive and are greeted with towels to refresh yourself. We had a Butler level room. We waiting in an area with snacks and drinks for our Butler.
(side note-I highly recommend the Mobay service for arrival and departure, folks it will save you time and the guidance can help relieve stress and on to the lounge for refreshments while waiting on your ride to the resort or awaiting your flight back home)
Once our Butler, Sherry Ann, arrived that's when the real pampering started. She was upbeat and showed us around the resort and to our room. I completed the check in process ahead of time online and once in the room we were given a quick review of information. Oh yes, and there was fresh fruit, wine glasses, and non-alcoholic juice chilling. (per our butler request form-non alcoholic). Throughout our stay Sherry Ann continued to surprise with snacks, beverages, and guidance to make our trip even more special. We also had another Butler that worked opposite at times when Sherry Ann was not working, but it seems we saw more of her than the other, maybe due in part to their work schedules.
Food-We ate at LaTavola (yummmmy steak-yes, I ordered a steak at an Italian restaurant), Tokyo Jo's at Montego Bay, Bombaay. Also, if you want quick food and not the wait go to Spices Buffet for a good mixture of choices.
Excursion-We went to the Dolphin Cove and interacted with a dolphin, that was my most adventurous event-lunch was included in the price for this excursion. We wanted to go on the glass bottom boat, but the weather did not permit the day we reserved.
Entertainment-If you just want to chill at the pool there is entertainment, at night "Showtime" Ashein-the-Machine, Lady J, Gavin (Chippee), various very talented entertainers-I do not remember all of the names. These people work so hard and you get the for sure family feeling while on this resort. The night that we shuttled over to Montego Bay there were talented fire entertainers.
There was an offer to rebook before leaving with a good deal and I did so in the Loyalty office.
Con-(and this by no means stopped me from rebooking here or ruined my trip) There are cats! More prevalent in the evening I would say. I recommend management notifying prospective guests ahead of time prior to their first visit to the resort as a courtesy. (If it is stated somewhere by Sandals ahead of time I do not recall seeing it). One night at a restaurant that was outside only dining they were quite prevalent by our table. One on the ledge by my seat.
But again, this by no means ruined my stay and I have already booked to return. Reserve at Royal Caribbean and if you want more noise and hype one or two nights head over to Montego Bay near by.

My husband and I loved our time at Sandals Royal Caribbean! From our arrival to our departure, the staff were all so warm, welcoming, and professional. Our room was clean, comfortable, and impressive. The resort was well maintained and well stocked; we never encountered an issue where they were out of anything. The food and beverages all tasted fresh and delicious. The beaches and pools were well cared for and absolutely delightful. The boat service to the off-shore island was very reliable and quick, a real pleasure, and the island itself was a special treat that we really enjoyed! The room we wound up having booked was a butler service room, and though my husband and I were apprehensive around having a butler (we're super low-key and low-maintenance, so it's not really our type of thing) the two butlers we had were amazing! Andre, aka Bossy (who was anything but) and GayAnn were truly wonderful! They were attentive without being overbearing or invasive, super warm and professional, and they made our stay extra special. We can't say enough great things about our stay, and we will definitely be back!

We returned on November 4 after spending 9 nights at the Royal Caribbean and had a fantastic trip. This was our 16th Sandals trip, our fourth time at the Royal, the last having been 7 years ago. We stayed in the Caribbean Grande Luxe Room in the Caernarvon building which was a nice, quiet location. This is the rainy season, so we did have a shower or two almost every day but never a totally rainy day. The staff is absolutely amazing, so friendly, hardworking and helpful. These are just a few of the staff I wanted to recognize: Tracy-Ann at the quiet pool who had an unbelievable memory keeping everyone's drink orders spot on! Darnet at the breakfast buffet, who every morning would greet us with a smile and who also helped save a little bird who had crashed into the glass on the patio. Tremaine (AKA Stevie) at the main pool was always hard at work cleaning and setting up each morning and always came by to say hello to my husband and me. And finally, Janessa from the Loyalty Desk with her beautiful smile who was such a big help to us and also in setting up our dinner reservations. Again, Sandals did not disappoint!

This was our third trip to the Royal Carribean Resort. When we booked our room, we were told the Kensington building was fully booked and we would have to take a more expensive room that included a butler. We told the agent we didn't want a butler and were told it was part of the package. The room was beautiful, but unnecessary for our needs. While we were there, we observed unused rooms in the Kensnigton building. Two couples, in our group, requested ground floors, just before we arrived and they were able to be accommodated. So there must have been rooms available. We were disappointed in the booking process.
Our housekeepers were great. They were attentive and anticipated our needs.
The food was mediocre. The only food that seemed freshly made was the omelets, Thai food and Italian. We attended the Loyalty dinner and the steak and lobster served was tough, difficult to cut and the mashed potatoes had been sitting on the plate for sometime. We will not be returning to this resort.

Thank you for providing feedback on Sandals Royal Caribbean. We are happy to have had the pleasure of hosting you; however, having read your review, it seems there have been several aspects of your stay that were not in line with your expectations. Just to clarify, our agents do their best to answer all guest questions during the booking process so that the perfect room can be chosen. We cannot guarantee specific room assignments as well as room location until check-in, and this is based on availability. We were also particularly surprised to read your comments regarding food and beverage, as we usually receive very positive feedback in this area. I noticed that two of the answers recommend Fast Pass Service which for sure is convenient if you need somebody to negotiate you thru the airport arrival. We have not used the service and don't mind standing in line for a while. Procedures at the Sangster airport change from year to year and now they have kiosks where you do your immigration. Fairly quick. Sandals has an arrival lounge with drinks and bathrooms before your transportation to the selected resort. Sure you can use the departure lounge as a Fast Pass customer and that lounge is nice and has food and drink. But with the price you pay, you can also go to many of the food court restaurants inside the terminal.
The SRC resort is small, so things are compact. But you can also take the boat to the island to hang out there, eat lunch or dinner, do sunbathing, use the pool or the beach. And definitely use the shuttle bus to go to Montego Bay either in the day time for the sun and experiencing another resort, or in the evening for dinner. Have fun on your trip.
Our room was freezing! I actually had to bump it up a couple of times (when my husband wasn’t looking lol) definitely was in great working condition. This is our 4th Sandals and we have never experienced bad ac! 😊

We just returned from RC and the new Balmoral building is due to open on Feb 1 from what we're told. They were working on the beach all week and that appears to be almost done. The newest building where the Kensington was is just under construction right next to the Balmoral building you're stayin in so I would imagine, depending on where your room is, you will hear some noise. They don't start too early or work late though. We did tour the building and it's beautiful.
There are more places to choose from in the Montego Bay area.
