We traveled here for 3 days after our wedding In October, it felt like it wasn't enough time as the resort is fairly large, and it is far from the airport (almost 2 hours) but it was a nice getaway from the busy week we had in Runaway Bay. We did not know much about this resort when we got here except it looked like it was in the jungle, and it was on a cliffside.
When we got there our room was not ready, but we were offered a cold towel and a drink, and were given a ride to the lunch buffet (which is the Italian restaurant at night) where the food was amazing. I was a little worried when I saw that there was not a lot of choice but what we found was amazing. We grabbed a drink and went for a walk around the main pool and beach. By the time we made it back to the front our room was ready. The room was on the top floor with a veranda looking towards but not not full ocean view. Room was nice and comfortable, furniture looked antique, fridge was cold, and you have the choice to pick what you want in your bar. Shower was alright, the bathroom had a window that looked right out onto the balcony which was strange. But it was very nice, lots of room to put things away. The veranda was almost as big as the room, very nice, only problem was the bats liked it too. As soon as the sun went down there were bats hanging out. First night was the worst, probably 20 bats hanging from the ceiling and pooping on the veranda. I spoke to the front desk and they scared them away for a bit, but they returned. The 2nd and 3rd night I left the balcony light on and they just flew in and out (but didn't stay). The resort looks like it is in the jungle so you know, there may be bats.
Food and drinks were amazing. We had a frozen bikini made by Kerry Ann, she takes so much care to make you a nice drink, she was great. Also Rajron who seems to work at every bar made amazing drinks, and went out of his way to make sure we were happy. Food was so good, everything we ate was amazing. Breakfast was great with the omelettes (and mimosa) lunch at either place was delicious, buffet or A la Carte, and we had dinner at the Jamaican, Italian and Gourmet and loved all of the meals. Drinks were also amazing, I discovered Ting and Vodka (a moscow mule wanna be) and I was hooked. I have an allergy and they would clean out the blenders properly between mixed drinks.
The pool and beach on the clothing side were great, sand was a little soft in the water, but it was nice to float around, calm water and very shallow. Pool was nice, had a swim up bar. We went to the balloon bar pool which is kind of random, and dead, but had a nice water fall and they would bring us drinks. The mineral pool was nice too, it has a juice bar located beside it. There is a grotto where you can take a dip by the mineral pool but it was cold.
Entertainment was alright, we played pool one night, and watched the show from the games room, but they seemed to have some sort of singing entertainment every night we were there. Not our thing, but it was well recieved. Entertainment was for a crowd older than us (early 30's) but it wasn't bad.
A few things to note: Staff are not to accept tips, and still they are so nice to you, it is very hard not too. Lots and lots of stairs all over the resort. There is a shuttle too, but we walked it except the first day. There are bikes you can borrow! We found them the last day, and there is a HUGE old tree by the turtle pond, it is pretty interesting to go see. I wish we had a few more days to explore but we only had 3. We would go back again, just remember it is far from the airport but totally worth it.
Food, atmosphere and staff were great! Only downside was 3 days of coming back to our room after the beach and not being able to take showers for over 2 hours due to no water in G block. An inconvenience but that would not deter me from returning
Just returned from sansouci. This is our second trip to this resort. We stayed in the beachfront suites(block a and b). They have been updated since we have been there. Very nice but still some hiccups with the room..but no problem!! Food was amazing never a problem to find food if you get hungry including room service!! Entertainment ...yes they had it but not great, but everyone has their own taste so it’s hard to please everyone. Overall this place is small (which we love) lots of steps, beautiful grounds with hot tubs and pools tucked in different places❤️ Spa was great just the perfect quiet getaway!!! We would go back tomorrow if we could.
Sans Souci means without a care and this resort’s name says it all. I had never booked an all-inclusive destination before our honeymoon. I was overwhelmed with choices and had trouble narrowing the field. Couples Sans Souci stood out because it seemed more human scale than so many of the mega properties. After all the excitement and stress of planning our own wedding, selling two homes, buying a new one, and moving, both of us we’re ready for a much deserved getaway to celebrate and kick back in the lap of luxury. After picking Couples Sans Souci in Ocho Rios, I sent a text to a travel professional friend of mine and she gave me two thumbs up. “You’ll love it,” she promised. “It’s at the top of a short list I would have picked for you!” Our 10-day honeymoon was deliciously satisfying in every way. We took advantage of activities like snorkeling over a shipwreck in crystal clear water. We dined in elegant surroundings and called for room service whenever we wished. All-inclusive in this resort includes all. The food is not just plentiful, delicious and diverse. It’s artistic and presented with style and grace. The mini fridge can be filled at maximum capacity. Carefree and at no extra charge. On top of it all, we enjoyed yoga classes three mornings and a 75-minute couples massage that was out of this world. Don’t miss the mineral springs and other surprises tucked away on the property. If you’re into an au natural experience, the Sunset beach has all the amenities of the main beach. And the waterfront is private – not shared by other resorts. All adults. All couples. No wonder there were five weddings on the property during our stay. We’re looking forward to returning for our first anniversary.
My husband and I spent a week here to celebrate our 25 th anniversary and it was a slice of heaven! We enjoyed a couples massage in the hideaway while listening to the waves coming into shore, went scuba diving, and enjoyed Sunset Beach daily! The resort is beautiful and the staff are friendly, helpful and fun!! Highly recommend Couples San Souci!!
