This is not a place to go with children. Immediately upon our arrival, we realized what a terrible mistake we had made in choosing this place. The front door of our room overlooked a chain link fence, wires, and a parking lot. The room was dingy, dark, and smelled musty. We walked down to the beach and were immediately harassed...

This was our first trip to Jamaica so we went with no expectations. Stayed in the beach-side rooms so we didn't have to cross the road and deal with traffic. Beds were made daily and clean towels were given, no wash cloths or hand towels. Bring your own shampoo, soap, hair dryer, etc. Staff were very professional and polite, grounds...

The room is less than a Motel 6. The phone did not work. Two bath towels. We could not have more than the two towels. The room was clean, but smelled. The light fixtures did not have covers on them. Bring soap, shampoo, hairdryer, etc. The security guard (Daniel), slept on the job, begged for money, and his verbal skills...

Legends came through again with another great week for us. 4th time here. Excellent location and helpful staff. Had a great time, with perfect weather during last week in February 2013. Manager (Paul?) does a very quiet, but effective job ensuring the property is in good shape. Thanks Mama and Michael for your great work in the kitchen, and on...

Two of us 50+ ladies traveled to Jamaica together and stayed 7 nights at Legends in March 2013. NEGATIVES: The rooms at Legends are okay, but nothing fancy. You definately need to bring your own shampoo, etc. There also is no hair dryer, coffee pot, or ice bucket. Actually, there is no ice machine available at Legends, thus the lack...

My husband and I just returned from 8 nights at Legends. Stayed March 2-10. We had to choose a less expensive place this year and we were not expecting much after reading all of the negative reviews but we were willing to accept it just to get back to our favorite place, Negril. Let me say this, from the time...

I had a great holiday partly thanks to Legends. The resort has part of it on one side of the road and the other part with reception on the beach front. The restaurant overlooks the sea and sunset is amazing from here. I stayed across the road which was fine, the pool was empty every day which I enjoyed. The...

My wife and i just returned from Legends after a 2 week all inclusive. This resort is located right on a beautiful stretch of sandy beach, no need for beach shoes. Lounge chairs and pads were readily available although some folks stake out their territory at breakfast which starts at 8:00am. The resort shuts down at 10:00 pm and the...

Not being a 4or5 star property traveler, I know what 3 stars usually stand for. This property is NOT a 3 star or even close. If it werent for the waitstaff and the location, it would be equal to pitching a tent on the beach. Although I'm sure the sand is softer than the bed. Yes, it is loud and...

Virginia Beach

hey all! planning our honeymoon for december 14/15-20 in Negril, Jamaica! we've been looking at every reosrt that suits our needs but all resorts seem to have the same thing. we really like Couples Swept Away, however, it is on long bay like we would prefer, is it that much nicer than Legends? a lot of reviews say the staff is rude(CSA)- I dont want that ruining it for us! How is everyone is legengs-honestly? I really enjoy the idea of being able to stay at one, play at 2. does all inclusive really mean all inclusve? all drinks food/room service, non motorized water sports? Also, tipping, is it included as well? or is it expected from employees at Legends and Samsara? Couples resorts have a no tipping policy which I like the idea of not having to always have cash and employees wont be standing around waiting to be tipped. (if you do tip, whats a decent one?) We also want good food, and not have to wait 45 min to be acknowledged by a server then another 45 min to get food. (many resorts have reviews of this) I understand the rooms in ANY resort in the Caribbean islands are going to have a bit of "weather-ly love," we're not expecting marble floors and brand new furnishings by any means lol but we want something thats cool when we sleep, good view of the ocean and doesnt stink! Basically we want a decent room, good food, good drinks, and friendly staff that will actually go the extra mile to make our honeymoon fantastic! and sheesh the price difference between Legends and Couples!
