My friends and I were in Negril to visit Ricks Cafe and needed a place to spend the night to avoid the long drive back to Ocho Rios. Having been delighted at previous stays at Travellers, it was my location of choice as as always they did not disappoint.
The recently renovated cottages are beautiful, beds are comfortable, water pressure is great. The location on 7 mile beach is superb and the food at the on-site restaurant is authentic and delicious.
During my week long visit to Jamaica, I stayed at the Hilton, Secrets Wild Orchid, and Riu Palace. While they are all great resorts, my stay at Travellers was the most homey and chill experience of them all. Only wish I could have stayed longer, but I will definitely be back.

Travellers Beach Resort in Negril, Jamaica, has garnered generally positive reviews, with praise for its location, friendly staff, and value for money.

* Prime Location: Situated on Negril's famous Seven Mile Beach with easy access to the white sand and clear waters. The resort is also conveniently located near restaurants, bars, and shops.
* The staff at Travellers are friendly and attentive.
* Affordable Rates: Travellers is considered a mid-range option that offers good value, especially considering its beachfront location.
* Amenities: The resort features a pool with a swim-up bar, a restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating, and a gym.
* Cleanliness: Many reviewers have highlight the cleanliness of the rooms and the property overall.
Things to Consider:
* Room Conditions: some rooms have been renovated and feature modern amenities, others are described as being a bit dated.
* Limited Room Service: Travellers does not offer room service, which might be a drawback for some guests.
* Breakfast: The breakfast is not included in the room rate and some guests have found it to be overpriced.
Overall, Travellers Beach Resort appears to be a solid choice for travelers seeking a relaxed beach vacation in Negril. Its central location, friendly staff, and affordable rates make it an attractive option for couples, families, and groups. However, it's important to be aware of the potential for noise and the condition of some of the rooms.

4.5 stars. Travellers is a great resort, and one of the few owned by a Jamaican family. I enjoyed my stay there, the room was nicely sized, the beds and pillows were comfortable, the fan and air conditioning kept the room cool, and the restaurant has pretty good food, though they are sometimes out of menu items which can be disappointing. However, the view is spectacular and the staff are very friendly. I would recommend allowing beach towels to be taken off the resort and making it clear on the website how to schedule airport transfers to the hotel. Those are my only suggestions, which lets you know how great this place really is. Support Jamaican families and book your stay here!

I’ve been coming to Travellers Beach Resort once a year for the past five years, usually around my birthday, and I keep returning because of the warm staff, relaxed atmosphere, and unbeatable location. From the moment you arrive, they greet you with “Welcome home,” and it’s easy to feel that way. It’s not a big, overwhelming resort—it’s comfortable, easygoing, and has touches that show the pride of its family ownership.

Rooms: I’ve stayed in different rooms across the property. The newly renovated ones are definitely a step up—modern bathrooms, great fixtures, and a beautiful green paint color that feels fresh. My friend stayed in one this time, while I had an older upstairs room. It was spacious and still comfortable, but definitely more dated, and you can hear a lot through the windows and doors. Hoping they keep renovating because the updates are really well done.

Amenities & Experience: The gym is surprisingly well-equipped, better than many resorts, and there’s a cute rec room with games and a pool table. Their beachfront restaurant has the best view—mornings under that big tree overlooking the water are a must. The bonfire, karaoke, and art nights add a nice touch, and it’s great seeing consistent programming year after year.

Food: The bar and dinner service are solid, though I’m not a big fan of the breakfast.

The staff move quickly, they are warm, and many have been there for years, likely reflecting an equally warm working environment. I’ve had mostly great interactions, except for one disappointing front desk experience a couple years ago when dealing with guests.

This year though I had a nice surprise with a few birthday balloons in the room on my special day. I appreciated the small touches—it was a simple but thoughtful gesture that didn’t go unnoticed.

Overall, it’s my go-to spot in Negril. It’s not luxury, but it has charm, reliability, and an amazing beachfront setup. If you appreciate a laid-back, locally owned vibe with some great upgrades happening, it’s worth a stay.

I had never been to Travellers before and came on a whim for a few days. Usually go to MoBay or Ocho Rios so had not been in Negril for years. I have been pleasantly surprised. I stayed at first in the basic bungalow (no a/c - fan, nice shower, TV), then ended in the deluxe room (all of the above and a/c, fabulous view, and most important, good coffee). All paths lead directly to the beach. The best part was starting and ending my day eating while looking directly out to the sea. Beautiful sunsets under a large sea grape tree. The staff just has to hear you have a need and they will do their best to fulfill it. The staff was absolutely amazing. All of them. Full Jamaican hospitality. I was impressed by the way the hotel spent money on things that matter while economizing elsewhere to keep the prices reasonable. Delicious Jamaican breakfast and lobster, snapper and other delicious items for lunch and dinner again at very reasonable rates. Hotel is near a restaurant so beaches relatively bare on both sides. Cristal clear sea. Very relaxing.

My friend and I stayed at travellers for 2 weeks whilst we were doing our PADI certifications (One Love Scuba is in the grounds of the resort - they propose boat rides, paddle boarding, snorkelling trips as well as scuba diving).
We stayed in a cottage which had recently been renovated - it was very stylish and had all the facilities you would need including a large bathroom. The cottage had a lovely patio facing the garden. The housekeeping team were great and our room was super clean.
The grounds were immaculate. The swimming pool area was quiet as most people opted to spend their day at the beach area however there was always a lifeguard present - so great if you have children.
Travellers has a fitness centre which is well equipped for holiday workouts with technogym equipment.
We found the staff to be friendly, extremely polite and attentive. The staff at the bar and restaurant were fun yet professional giving the bar/ restaurant area great vibes.
We ate at the restaurant most days and couldn’t fault the food - I found it to be great quality for the price.
If you are looking for a calm, family friendly resort - I couldn’t recommend Travellers more highly.

Conveniently located along Norman Manley Blvd (7 mile Beach Strip)
Stayed for 2 nights in the middle of Jamaica’s Hurricane Season.
Expect afternoon/evening showers

The Property layout is very beautiful, On site parking is present though very limited (I was required to move my vehicle for some repair work taking place after 1st night)
Direct beach access to a wonderful view and beach
Complimentary Drink at check in
Meals were good for our stay and affordable as well.
Servers and staff very pleasant.
Mosquito repellent candles in room
Mosquito Fogging (Vector Control was noticed to combat mosquito
Well manicured lawn
Somewhat pet friendly (was nice to see resort cats and dogs interacting with guests in a warm way.

No complimentary breakfast (which is not the norm for hotels along that stretch, a huge turnoff to be honest)
Amenities very limited (The games room and pool close off very early I.e 8pm for games room and 6pm for pool)

Construction/renovation taking place during our stay

Power cut that forced us out of our rooms as entire resort was without electricity for roughly 2-3 hours

Evening Entertainment very basic
Rooms and some applicances outdated
Air conditioning unit in our room did not have a vane. AC could just turn on/off and adjust temp. General security concern as solicitors/vendors and general public (bike) could access property and head onto beach.

Hefty Security Deposit (USD 150.00) which we weren’t told about until after we swiped our card and completed booking.

Lots of mosquitoes present on site

Room service knocked and tried to enter at 10:00am when checkout was 11am. That wasn’t cool.

Where do I begin. I booked Travellers because I visited in 2023 & had a good experience. Unfortunately this visit was atrocious compared to last year. Between being placed in a room directly beside their loud construction site and workers, to getting no house keeping the first night and then running out of towels only to be told they didn’t have any extras because they were being washed. To the mediocre quality of food at the restaurant. To no fan in a room with a barely cooling AC. To their staff barely being responsive on the what’s app number and no phone being in the room which led to my husband constantly having to walk to front desk if we needed something. To their life guard who saw kids swimming at the pool and was blasting lewd dancehall music that was inappropriate for children! To top it off at the very end of our trip as I have my bags packed & our transportation waiting to take us to the airport our card was charged almost $2000 US DOLLARS FOR A $12 breakfast. And imagine after all of my frustration the front desk agent wanted me to go back to the restaurant so that they could try to void the transaction and so that I could be charged for their $12 dollar breakfast! After complaining is when the rep decided to offer to not charge me for the lack luster breakfast on top of everything. As I am writing this review, my account is still overdrawn by almost $2000 US dollars! I cannot make any additional charges because of the charge put through by their incompetent staff. They have created such an inconvenience for me and not even a phone call from a manager to try to compensate me for their mistake! That being said, you’re better off staying somewhere else where they actually care about their customers and providing good service. The hotel has literally gone down the drain and sunk to the bottom of the gutter and I will never stay here again or recommend anyone stay here. It is such a shame that place that was once a lovely hotel has lost its value, the only thing saving it, is the negril beach.

Hello Abigail, Thank you for taking the time to share your detailed feedback. We are deeply sorry to hear that your recent stay did not meet your expectations, especially given your positive experience with us in the past. Your comfort and satisfaction are priorities for us, and we recognize that we fell short of our own standards during your visit. During our refurbishment and construction periods, unforeseen challenges can sometimes arise, and we regret that these affected your stay. These efforts are part of our commitment to enhancing the guest experience, and we’re pleased to share that most of our room upgrades are now complete. All A/C units have been serviced, and we’ve been receiving great feedback about the improvements. We also sincerely apologize for the oversight with the credit card charge. We understand how frustrating and inconvenient this must have been. The issue has been resolved, but we are truly sorry for the time it took and the stress it caused. Thank you for bringing these matters to our attention. Your feedback is invaluable as we continue to make improvements. We would love the opportunity to welcome you back in the future to experience the true Travellers hospitality that we are proud to offer.

Had a wonderful stay at Travellers Beach Resort. We have stayed many times at the all inclusive hotels in Negril but wnated to try something different this trip. Travellers had excellent reviews and many repeat guests. We loved everything about it, location in Negril, great food, lovely gardens, beautiful beach and a friendly efficient staff who welcomed you to the hotel. It was wonderful to start the day on their restaurant deck overlooking the ocean. This hotel of 60 rooms is intimate enough for the staff to get to know the guests and make the service seem personalized. Because of the central location, we were able to dine at various places by walking the 7 Mile Beach, eating at the hotel (with great food,)or by taking a short taxi ride to places on Norman Manley Boulevard or the West End of Negril. I highly recommend doing this . Some of the places we tried and loved were Chicken Lavish, Canoe Beach Bar and Grill, Patsy's Coffee Shop and Best in the West. Will be trying others as well on our next trip. The room was spacious, spotless and very comfortable (Superior Queen room) and the fridge in the room was wonderful for storing a few groceries and drinks we picked up at the nearby HiLo supermarket. We loved the balcony which was private due to the lush garden . We will be returning next year!

Returned for our third stay at Travellers which was also our 25th anniversary trip. Enjoyed our stay to the fullest as always. The hotel is always upgrading and renovating the property and this year was no exception. We stayed in a superior room which will shortly be renovated, but renovations on the standard rooms have already been done, and from what we could see, looked lovely with it's beautiful tiles etc.

One of the main reasons for returning to Travellers is their wonderful staff, and it was great seeing them again. Friendly and stellar service from everyone -Sueanne, Petrona, Kereen, Mikeisha, Raqueanne(spelling?), Ricky at the bar and many others. Big thanks to O'Neil who works security at the entrance who gave us wonderful information on moving arolund Negril on route taxis.

The beach area was wonderful as usual. We love being at this end of the 7 Mile beach as very calm and less foot traffic. A "must do" is gourmet patties from Dru's Bar and Grill beside Negril Beach Club Condos. One patty is a meal!

Looking forward to returning to Travellers in Novemeber!

The hotel does provide beach towels. You are given a card to get a beach towel and will receive it back when you return the towel. I believe you can charge to your room. We paid for anything we purchased at the hotel. We ventured into town and ate where the locals eat to experience the local culture and it was much cheaper. We were in a standard and a superior room. The superior room had a hair dryer, the standard did not. I think all of the rooms have a refrigerator. The cottage has some basic items for cooking.
