This was my first Caribbean vacation and I booked Catcha because of the reviews - they weren't lying. Easy to see why so many guests come back here every year. Absolutely breathtaking views, great hospitality, one of the best restaurants in Negril at Ivan's. They also offer guests free coffee and tea in the mornings, which was awesome because our cabin was oceanfront, right next to the restaurant.

One caution: you can't walk to the beach from here -- actually, walking seems a challenge for most of the area, with busy roads and no sidewalks. But they have a tour company ready to give you a ride. I do wish it were easier to explore on foot.

I didn't want an all-inclusive resort because I wanted to try other food -- this place is just next to a great jerk centre (Kool Vybes) and other local fare. You can also walk (if you're careful) to Push Cart Restaurant at Rock House or LTU, both of which are awesome.

My wife and I have been travelling to Negril for 26 years and have been for dinner to Ivan's Restaurant at least 20 times and always said we should try out the resort for part of our vacation. So this year we spent our first 8 days at Catcha before heading to our regular spot on the beach. We didn't want to spend a lot of money on a room so we chose to stay in a cabin called Pisces which is smaller and located closer to the road and parking lot. Having been to Negril so many times and being used to the street noise and wild life we figured it would not be a problem. The cabin turned out to be perfect for us with everything we could ask for including AC, Fridge, nice bed, large patio and nice bathroom. The first couple nights we were a little concerned as there were many dogs barking all night long across the street which was very challenging but it got better and by the third night it was much better and only intermittent. Not the resorts fault at all, just the way it is. Check in was very smooth and all the staff we got to know were excellent and caring. As it is a small property that is basically closed to the public during the day you will get to know the staff for sure. The resort is very clean and well looked after with incredible views, nice pool and a beautiful restaurant. Loved that coffee is complimentary every morning starting at 7. Cost for breakfast and lunch was very reasonable and dinner although a bit more expensive was amazing. We tend to eat street food for many meals and there were lots of options within walking distance. We really have nothing negative to say about our stay and lots of positives. We understand the property has been sold so hopefully it will remain the same as we have become used too. We have already booked for Dec 2023 and are looking forward to it. We would like to offer a sincere thankyou to everyone who were a part of our stay and can't say enough good things. For those reading this review, please reach out if you have any questions at all or need advice. We also have some video of the resort and Pisces Cottage.

Catcha is simply PARADISE! From the moment you drive up until the gate closes behind you, you are going to be treated like family in a tropical oasis. We were a friends and family group of 30 people celebrating my daughter's 30th and everything was perfect!
The on-site restaurant, Ivan's is the best I've had on the island.
The location and view, a stones throw from Rick's cafe, are a combination of Morrocan vibe with Greek Island style with the traditional Jamaica flare!
The staff is attentive and professional from the lovely breakfast ladies to the heavy pour bartenders to special event attendants to management. Everyone took such great care of us!
Special.thanks to Cassandra, Flavell, Andre and Kevin for keeping us safe and happy and to Shariff for meeting all of our transportation needs at a moments notice!

We visited Catch Falling Star (Ivans, as it is known locally) for dinner on the recommendation of out tour rep. The restaurant will come and collect you from your hotel for free and you just pay the taxi for the return journey which was $25 (party of 4) to Royalton Hideaway (20-25 mins depending on traffic) It is absolutely lovely, perfect spot for watching the sunset and everyone is really friendly. There is a great choice of food, it was all excellent and reasonably priced, you get a complimentary bowl of soup, the food portions are good, and therefore unlikely to need dessert. We had such a nice time that we went back again for our last night meal before returning home and would recommend visiting.

Had big expectations of this place. The accommodation was great, large, clean and well furnished but we had some mould in the bedroom and bathroom. They did offer to paint over it but neither my wife nor I wanted to sleep with the paint fumes. Apart from that it was fine.
The food at Ivans just really wasn't very good at all. Steamed veg are part of the national dish and when they arrive almost raw everytime you know something is really off. We couldn't eat there after a couple of days and started eating elsewhere. Also every night the busy restaurant plays Happy Birthday by Stevie Wonder at full volume at least half a dozen times or more. Multiply that by 7 and you are not far from the techniques used in modern torture .
Catcha is not a large resort by any means. The only way to hide was in the apartment which is a shame when you have a nice sea facing terrace.
Some of the staff members were really nice and helpful but not all.
The worse thing of all is not the fault of Catcha itself but the proximity to Rick's. Prepare for your peaceful afternoons to be ruined by crappy loud music and tourists as all the boats turn up at the same time everyday. We just wanted to chill but it wasn't always possible which put a dampener on our time here.

We have stayed at Catcha quite a few times and have always had a great vacation..The views are beautiful, we have always had nice weather, and it is fun jumping off the cliffs and swimming in the ocean. No kids allowed because of safety, but that is a plus for us since our kids are grown. Food and drinks are excellent and staff is nice and helpful. You have to read room descriptions because there is a lot of variation. There is a very small pool, but it is nice to have for cooling off when ocean is too rough. You can walk to a couple other restaurants too for some variety or they will get a taxi for you if you want to go further. Never disappoints!

I don’t know where to begin with this review first and foremost, the cleanliness and attentiveness to COVID sanitation and social distancing is above and beyond and more than we have in the states, we were blown away. Everything was easy-breezy at check-in with and explanation of how the hotel works, an appointment for our COVID tests and then on to a well appointed room; we stayed in Gemini 1 which is a wonderful small cottage with a lovely outdoor deck and a very comfortable bed (and pillows) which in my experience doesn’t happen much in Negril 😂. Ivan’s bar and bartenders are phenomenal and the restaurant deserves a Michelin star; we did venture out to LTU one night for dinner but we really couldn’t get enough of Ivan’s. The hotel kept an accurate and detailed accounting of our many room charges and we had no surprises upon checkout. I truly can’t say enough about how magical this place is. It was the trip of a lifetime and we want to thank everyone we came in to contact with!

31st trip to Jamaica & first time at Catcha. All I can say is WOW. There were 3 of us, we had the Aquarius 2 bedroom. This unit is close to Rick’s, so when sitting out at night you will be able to hear the music- but it was not late, so it was no problem for us. So absolutely roomy & beautiful. Beds were very comfortable. The property is truly magical. The layout is so quaint & there are lots of private nooks for quiet time. The pool area is just large enough. The staff are all so warm & welcoming. One of the best features we loved is that there was morning coffee & ice available for guests- that is just a great touch that means so much! Happy hour at the bar was fun! The food at Ivan’s is good, but a bit pricey- but there are plenty of walkable places near by. We will happily be returning… soon! Can’t wait to sit on the veranda & watch those magical sunsets right from our room!

From the moment we arrived, we were greeted like family! We want to send a heartfelt thanks to the entire staff who always make our stay feel like home..We fondly were able to see several people we met the last time we visited..Every single person we met was courteous, smiling and always willing to help or offer a greeting.. the bird nest experience for my birthday was PHENOMENAL! The rooms were always clean and comfortable there are no bad views with any room you stay in, and there is plenty of chair space with access to the sea, and even when property is full it still feels private.. the restaurant and bar is excellent and there’s no better place to eat and drink in Negril.. Every time we are able to take time for a vacation we always come back to Catch a Falling Star! Special thanks to Davina and Jadia for an awesome birthday experience.. and the too numerous to name awesome waitstaff and bartenders.. office staff, housekeeping and grounds/maintenance staff .. and of course to lucky and lulu .. you are all great!
