We stayed for my friend’s birthday. Everyone was so super nice and extremely helpful. The check-in process was smooth as silk thanks to Alecia. Dolly and Terri in the Nexus office were extremely helpful. Chad and his team was awesome as they went above and beyond to decorate and celebrate my friend’s birthday. As a first time visitor, I will definitely come back!

Only writing this review in hopes that in sways people away from it. Please understand this review is based on our personal experience (seems similar to other low star ratings.) Below is point form of pros/cons Our experience is based off having the Deluxe chairmain suite with Diamond club ( 2 adults, 3 teenage kids) Cons: -Resort is almost 2 hours from resort (not hotel's fault) just a negative experience. - NO AIR CONDITIONING anywhere on the resort. Please take this serious all restaurants were around 27/28 degrees celcius (80f). The rooms average was around 25c (77f). Informed that is normal in ALL rooms. - Power goes out 8-10x a day on the entire resort; escalators, elevators, lights, music etc all turn off - retail - there is a store, probably most expensove than any other store ive been too - reg size chips are $15-$20USD (didnt buy of course) - servers/ waitresses are mostly 1/10. They are unfriendly and act as if you are bothering them, sometimes aggressive. - dishonest - when a worker says they will do something, they will not actually do it. They also lie about pricing . ex. Rented beach cabana ($90 USD) FOR 5 of the 7 days, asked them if they'd discount it due to being for 5 days and not 1. Got in writting via whatsapp that we would get 25% off. Only to find out during check out that its wrong and nothing they can do (until you refuse to pay and then they reduce your bill). - Buffet - same. Food all week, not much to choose from - A la carte - even with reservation, you still wait. After being seated can wait up to 1 hour to get food - probably more to write, but hope this is enough for to not make a mistake by going here Pros: - Chairman delux room is massive (3 washrooms, loving room, wetbar, full kitchen, pool table (broken), roughly 2500sqft) - diamond club is mandatory if you want any service (you get a butlet and they handle a lot of the annoying things - reservations and many other things) - VIBE Team - they are the ONLY reason for a non 1 star, they work their butt off day and night - Beach - very clean, crystal clear water (beware, there is marine life.. jellyfish, but evem when stung, it doesnt hurt. Can also see large stingrays which is amazing) All in, for this trip from Canada, we paid aroind 9,000 CAD. IF I had my time back, should have gone to a different location. Something like Coata Rica at Planet Hollywood (100x better, speaking from experience).

We stopped the Hideaway with a swim up room opposite the pool bar.The room was quite dated with dated furniture , the door had been broken previously, looks like it had been kicked in, nice and clean room with a large comfortable bed, there were no slippers or dressing gowns or hair dryer as listed , took two days to get a hair dryer , the other things never materilised. Cleaners came in Dailey , sometimes left coffee and milk , most of the time we had ask. The pool was quite dirty with green algae around the sides , staff at the pool bar would serve the Americans before anyone else, it was about tipping, Large groups of Americans would arrive Friday night for the weekend and take over the pool. Music played by the pool all day with games , foam party on Saturdays. The hotel is very clean and tidy staff always pleasant, the restaurants all served great food. But there is no air conditioning in any restaurant, people sit there and melt 😄. When you arrive to book into the Hideaway you are forced to hand over your bank card and pay £200 for any extra services /goods you have while you stay. They refund you on check out..TUI doesn't tell you this so be aware. The grounds are kept immaculate and the beaches are great. The shows at night were very good , all in all we had a good holiday even with the few defects . The hotel is located approximately one and half hours drive from the airport , roads are very busy at times. This is my honest view of the hotel, .

Excellent aqua classes with Garrison who was friendly and knowledgeable. The class was for all people regadless of fitness levels using various equipment and props. Thoroughly enjoyed it and highly recommend.

The hotel and rooms were beautiful. I would have enjoyed the stay much more if they could do a better job with their maintenance issues. Our room never cooled down to a comfortable temperature. Brought the issue to them many times. They would send a maintenance person to check it out and try to adjust the temperature. The first night we were there they mentioned that they would move us to a different room which never happened. We also had elevator issues in our building those were corrected. The escalator going from the lower area to the main lobby, would on occasion, violently shake and caused injuries to at least one woman that I’m aware of. I was disappointed that you had to be a diamond club member to be able to get Named brand alcohol, i.e., Jack Daniel’s, Crown, etc Some of the staff deserve to be mentioned. Huie is a Butler in the Diamond Club. We had a group of four couples and two couples werei n Diamond Club, but Huie was very helpful to all eight of us. Honestly, he made the difference in our trip. Another one I would like to recognize is Andrew who was a bellhop he was also very attentive and helpful. When my sister and I was planning this trip and we looked at the map of the location from the airport it didn’t look very far at all. But to drive there took hour and a half to two hours due to all the small towns you go through. The best meal I had was from a place called the Steak House. I got the ribeye medium cooked to perfection, Caesar salad, cream spinach, excellent meal, and our server was excellent. To wrap up if the service issues were taken care of, we had a nice cool room, the escalator was fixed, and the elevators worked all the time. This would’ve been a completely different review. But because of these issues, I can’t recommend this resort to anyone.

Never been a 5 star hotel. Barely a three star. Room did not have shampoo or soap, waited 3 days for it to be delivered to the room despite asking. Restaurants are poor, told they were full despite many free tables being empty. On one occasion, was told to wait at the bar for a table to be made available and given an electronic tag. We returned after an hour to check on our progress in the queue only to be told the restaurant was closed. We had waited specifically at the bar as instructed to be called to the restaurant, we were never called. The waiters then alleged dishonesty and told us we must have waited further than the bar. We were at the bar at all times. By the time they told us the restaurant was closed, the buffet had closed and we were forced to go hungry. The restaurants are poorly organised, it’s not difficult and they appear empty yet we were told to return later on every occasion we attempted to dine at a restaurant other than the buffet. The Italian was particularly poor food. Would not recommend this hotel, no shampoo or soap for days, poor food and service. It has never been a 5 star hotel, go elsewhere.

Just about to leave from our first stay in Jamaica and at the Royalton negril. Check in fast and easy. They weren’t to impressed when we refused to pay the $200 dollar hold on our card but we explained we were not told about this prior to arrival. We didn’t stay diamond club or hideaway. We did reserve our room before arrival which was room 2024 swim out room. Perfect view of the beach and a quieter area not to far away but far enough to have no noise from entertainment or music. The only issue we had was with the air con but the two times we reported this it was fixed within the hour. However it’s still an on going issue but the ceiling fan was enough for us. The food is so good I can honestly say we did not have a bad meal here. Armadillo was my favourite followed by zen! My least favourite was hunters my steak was way too fatty. The drinks are really good I had to ask for them not to be made to strong as they are very generous. I must say some of the restaurant staff could be more helpful and drop the attitude a little bit that said majority were really nice just a couple that weren’t. The overall cleanliness of the hotel is really good the pool is cleaned well and around the pool area is cleaned every night the house keepers that clean the rooms were also good so no complaints from me regards cleanliness. The guys who work at the martini mix are great fun especially Shamone and Romaine. Now the bit that I really would like to emphasise is how brilliant the vibeteam are and I hope the hotel management understand that these guys make this hotel what it is! Without them this hotel just wouldn’t be the same.They are the happiest friendliest people I’ve ever met! They are non stop morning noon and night they work so hard. They were all so welcoming but I would like to give a special mention to Radcliffe Astro Prince and Bjorn (but extra special mention to Radcliffe and Astro) these guys made us feel like friends and not just guests at a hotel. They made time for us and were happy to answer any questions we had, they are top guys who work so so hard! Definitely people I will remember from this holiday. I would 100% return!! Jamaica has a piece of my heart! Radcliffe and Astro if you see this thank you and all the best for your future from Matt and Nicola xx

I just returned from a 7 day vacation at this resort and I have to say that I am very disappointed with the entire experience. I am return guest and stayed at the resort 5 years ago for my honeymoon. We visited last week for our anniversary and this visit was not comparable at all. -All staff pass the buck and send you all around to make a complaint. Nobody wants to deal with the issues. I spent a lot time visiting front desk, customer service, Sunwing office, WhatsApp, and emailing. Very stressful waiting for emails and calls that never came. -No email from Sunwing about renovations happening on the resort. Construction going on late in the evening during the entertainment shows. Could not enjoy the entertainment. - Our First room - no ac, fixtures held to the ceiling with masking tape, to the ceiling, broken tile in shower, table chipped, toilet paper holder falling off the wall, moldy smell, looked run down, tv off the wall. Had to call the front desk 4 times to get switched rooms. Finally I decided to go to customer service desk and Chantae and Dwight got the job done. Front desk lazy and rude. -Dead rat floating in water - told a waitress on the beach she said she would tell the pool guy and not a single persons came to clean it up. The rat was floating around the beach all day. Very disgusting and unsafe. -No air conditioning in restaurants sweating everywhere. -AC in room runs turn off automatically Fridge not restocked on Sunday no water at all in the room -Cleaning not great. mirrors dirty, bags not put in garbage cans, sloppy and late to clean the room. Fridge not refilled daily some days no bottled water restocked, clean towels delivered at 6pm. -Waiting 20 mins for coffee at the cafe in the lobby and staff coming in a getting served on the side before me and other guests. This happened every morning. -Slow service everywhere. - Ran out of food at the jerk hut constantly. The wait for food truck was ridiculously slow. Nothing to cover you while your eating 30 mins in line in the hot sun for a hot dog or a pre- made patty -No Reservations for restaurants end waiting for 1 hr and just left to eat at buffet -Staff constantly asking for my room # with no explanation as to why it was needed. very uncomfortable -Really boring nightlife. A movie was playing on the stage on a big screen one of the evenings -Most nights the 1 of the restaurants would be closed. Left with little options and long waits for a table. Many nights ended up at the buffet. -Waking up in a sweat at 5am on vacation because the AC stopped working throughout the night. Not worth the price paid for the vacation. Definitely not a luxury 5 star resort. I am still waiting for the hotel to respond to my emails and it’s been days. Would not recommend.
