Detailed Reviews
I stayed at the Villa Sonate for 9 days in Dec 2019 I absolutely loved it . I gave it 5 stars because I think it deserved it. The room was clean and attractive, fresh clean towels . Genuine Jamaican breakfast every morning served most morning by the awesome Dallwayne . The chef made my American grandchildren alternate breakfast they requested. From the reception office to the security at the gate all the workers were pleasant and eager to give good service. If you want a quiet CLEAN environment to disconnect and rest this is the place to be and there is a private beach attached. Villa Sonate my favorite small hotel to be.

Just returned home from a 3 night stay. Thank you Mackie for letting us know about VS. We loved it! The grounds are beautiful and the room are well maintained and clean. Each member of the staff greeted us with a smile and made sure we had everything we needed. The breakfast and dinners were on point each day. Thank you for my special birthday drink. Without a doubt, we will be back!

Even before checking in I knew I’d have a good trip. The customer service rep Chrisann was so warm and helpful. Then when Keisha followed with the reservation details I received the same excellent customer service interaction. Checking in wasn’t bad but there was a slight miscommunication re the temperature checks at the gate but nothing too off putting. The facility is clean and well kept. Our rooms were comfortable and had most amenities needed. (Iron, ironing board, hangers, safe etc). The highlight of this stay was the food. Omg!! Every meal was exceptional. Even something as simple as a sandwich was a culinary delight. The Christmas meal and set up in the conference room was spectacular. Great attention to detail. We really felt like a part of a big family. The customer service was beyond exceptional. Keisha, the manager, was an excellent host. She went above and beyond to ensure our stay was comfortable. The bartender (Andre) and server ( Dalwayne) were so amazing. This place checks all the boxes for a nice quiet low key getaway. It would be nice for a girls trip or family trip or anything in between. I can’t emphasize how awesome the customer service experience is.

We stayed here last week and had rented 2 rooms. We were checked in with Janet and Michelle both of whom are amazing ladies! They are so friendly and were very accommodating. The rooms are very spacious and clean. I love the seat in all the showers. Also the view from the balcony is nice too. We did manage to make breakfast each morning and there was always a hefty serving of food. The hotel is very quiet and there are only 15 rooms to my understanding. The pool is nice, but small and this was the perfect getaway if you just want to relax.
I only have 2 suggestions, the room walls are really thin if you are in the middle rooms, so if you are night owl or plan on even talking to your friends or family, then request a room on the outside border of the hotel, also it is nice that we can charge food and drinks to the room, but to avoid any discrepancies on the last day at check out, I think it would be beneficial to have the guest sign the receipt at the end of the meal or bar visit. That way there is no problems and if there are, they can be addressed immediately. Otherwise there were no problems while we were there. We will definitely return to this hotel again!!!

What a nice Villa, more like a hotel than a true Villa but great location in runaway bay and since I golf the manager unlocked the gate and I could walk down to the clubouse where I had two rounds with a talented caddie by the name of Clinton (turn those shoulders and swing). the food was well done and the service was with a nice Jamaican smile. Breakfast was included (hence Bed and Breakfast) and it hit the spot. You could do Jamaica or US with a sweet fruit plate and all the blue mountain coffee you wanted. I saw alot of Jamaican families and children and had lunch with the Husband of a Jamaican baby doctor from Kingston. I walked to the Cardiff Hotel for a drink (15 minutes) I was impressed and will stay there one day. So for the money the Villa is hard to beat.

This small hotel is excellent for a day (or a few days) getting away from it all, or for work-related retreats. The property is beautiful, clean and peaceful. The staff are helpful and friendly, and the food is delicious.
The hotel is not on the main road, but is easy to find, and while it is not on the beach it is close by.

We ended up staying here for 2 nights due to my wife not being allowed to fly because of an ear infection. We had a terrible 2 week stay at the Grand Bahia resort and was so surprised and happy about how friendly and helpful the staff at Sonate are.
The hotel sits away from the main road and has a nice little pool and amazingly kept gardens. Our room was big and spacious and was very clean. The room came with tv, free internet and safe.
Breakfast was served between 8am and 10am and you had a choice of continental bacon, eggs, pancakes, toast and fresh fruit. Or you could have a Jamaica breakfast salt fish & akiee, yam, boiled banana & dumpling. I had the Jamaican breakfast which was delicious and my wife and 2 year old son had continental which was also very good.
They have a private secure beach with sun beds a life guard and a small bar serving red stripe, juices and water. You can arrange for a car to take you there and back just ask at reception.
All of the staff are very friendly and helpful. They always had a smile this was so refreshing after experiencing a terrible level if service at the other resort we had stayed at.
I would defiantly recommend staying here and would come back again.

We ended up staying at Villa Sonate after the all inclusive we had originally booked tried to pull a bait & switch. I have to say I don't regret it at all as the Villa Sonate staff is excellent, welcoming and accommodating. The only thing missing was a pool - the pool is currently being repaired. Next time we will book a stay there on purpose!

the location was remote and very quiet; the staff was extremely courteous and the grounds were perfectly manicured. if you need a quiet location for work or just relaxation then Villa Sonate is the place for you. i love the amenities in the room; room service was offered daily at no additional cost. although its in runaway bay; the serenity was worth it. :)
