I can't think of a better place to stay in Old San Juan. We stayed in a two bedroom apartment. The place is cute, comfortable and clean and in a perfect location. Beds made daily and abundent clean towels were provided. Our host helped us several times with tour arrangements. I loved the place and will recommend it to friends...

I stayed here for 8 nights and have ZERO complaints! Very affordable, extremely clean, friendly and helpful staff, and fantastic location! The first night, the A/C was out and that was a HUGE concern, but within an hour, they had the problem resolved and from then on everything went without incident. The place is kept immaculate! If the kitchen was...

Right in the midst of Old San Juan with its history and atmosphere, the Fortaleza Guest House is actually a backpackers' hostel. If you know what you're getting into--a shared bath and kitchen, old but adequate lodging, stairs to haul your bags up--it's more than adequate. The bed was great, having a balcony was lovely, and we had lots of...

I wanted to be in the heart of San Juan with a balcony. Can't complain about the noise, b/c that's what I asked for. Stayed on the 3rd floor. Kitchen and bath sinks back up, so they are always dirty. Guy didn't clean my room once while I was there. Roaches in the room, and ants in the dirty kitchen.

This place couldnt be in a better location for San Juan. The place is kept clean and the house manager is nice, no English though. But if you need to know something important, his sister works next door at the gift shop. okay so, I'm a solo female traveler and was put in a dorm with men, which is not...

The Good: location- close to shops, bars, restaurants, supermarket, famous sites, nightlife. Price- for those on a super tight budget and who are very low maintenance. Mostly Clean, old building but tidy. Bring flip flops to shower in! The Bad: not so bad, if you don't mind seeing ants, an occasional roach, and are not afraid of a few mosquito...

This place is one of the cheapest options in Old San Juan. It is basically a hostel with rooms instead of bunks. I had a room that opened up to the street. Even on Sunday night there were very loud people outside at 3 AM. Saturday night was constant noise for many hours. If it is just about price and...

This was our first time staying in a guest house. The room was small with a fan and balcony, and the bathroom was down the hall. The rooms have no TV. The place was very clean. I enjoyed my stay, I would stay there again. Tina and the staff were very friendly. Be prepared to pay with cash no credit...

My friends and I stayed here one night, and that one was one night too many. We had a room on the third floor that overlooked the street. It was too loud at night to sleep because the only thing separating the room from outside was a rickety shutter. There were several cockroaches with other critters in the room with...

A decent budget guest house in the middle of Old San Juan. It's in an old historic building, not a modern renovated hotel w/ elevators. The woman who checked me in was friendly and spoke good English. Be prepared to pay cash in full when you arrive, plus $10 deposit for the key. I stayed in a private deluxe room...
