This hotel just feels genuine - not manufactured. It is pricey but there is a special feeling about being there that you don't find in chain hotels. Ask for a room upgrade - at some times of year you can get a larger room. Don't forget to dine in the lobby restaurant. It is not owned by the hotel, but...

My friends and I only had one night at this wonderful hotel, and that was the only problem. The rooms were very spacious, and had lovely amenities like chocolate on the pillow, Aveda products in the bathroom, comfortable beds and soft robes. The property is absolutely gorgeous, with a large balcony facing the inner courtyard to enjoy your morning coffee...

Stayed here with my fiance during my 30th Bday. We were looking for some place quiet, fancy and upscale during those days. Everybody were very nice, helpful and corteus. Breakfast was amazing!! If you want a great place to stay in Old San Juan with no regrets, this is the place for you.

Spanish luxury in Old San Juan. This is hotel is in the center of the best part of the city. It is the antithesis of those new construction casino monstrosities close to the airport. Within walking distance of the beautiful 16th century fortresses that line the coast this hotel has the feel of old Spain. The hotel has a wonderful...

Stayed here with my family during the Labor day weekend. Since our arrival everybody were very nice, helpful and very courteous. If you want to be in a historic area and have everything at a walking distance this is the place. Keep in mind that this hotel is a historic building and they kept every room almost unaltered, meaning that...

This converted convent is located in downtown San Juan. This Hotel not only offered the best rooftop view from the hot tub, but the best downtown location for walking to bars and restaurants and the most amazing courtyard atmosphere. We caught the complementary wine hour over looking the city, had a great time with the staff at the bar, listened...

This hotel is located in the middle of the action in Old San Juan. It is a historical place because it used to be a convent for nuns therefore the spanish name "El Convento." The front desk employees are very knowledgable and will answer any questions one might have. My room had a beautiful view to the pool and also...

Years ago, after seeing a television show about Puerto Rico in which the host was staying at the Hotel El Convento, I had put staying there on my wish list for someday. That someday wish was fulfilled last week. From the moment we walked into the door we knew we were in a special place. Pampered by the staff every...

Not only was the hotel charming, beautiful, immaculately clean and full of history but the hotel staff went above and beyond what any other has done for us. Knowing we had a two year old who needed a crib, they supplied one complete with matching bumper, crib sheet and quilt. My daughter felt right at home. My family will never...
