When I read the reviews, I thought this hostel might be a nightmare but it was cheap so I was willing to give it a try. Wow, I was impressed. The pictures do not do it justice. Apparently, it’s under new management and they’ve made a lot of great changes. I was at several hostels in San Juan and The...

I enjoyed the way the Place Hostel was close to Walmart and the Beach. We all went to the store across the street and the beers were only $1, so that helped our budget. The music in the hostel was a live recording from the rainforest, so that was cool and helped me sleep at night. :)

Stayed here for two nights, the hostel is cozy and feels quite homey, the guests who were there at that moment were all very social and so was the staff. One of the managers would join us for a chat, offer us something to drink or a slice of pizza. The hostel was exactly what I needed. The old city...

After reading several reviews from Palace Hostel, I regrett my booking so much, that I could hardly sleep the night before I should go there. Some of the reviews made me feel I was going to "Bates Motel". But I arrived to one of the most beautiful hostels in the world! The neihbours are peaceful in their nice houses in...

It's a typical hostel with single rooms and up to 10 ppl dorms co-ed. Clean sheets and pillow cases are given, upon check-in. There is a full size kitchen, hot-plates, sink. Plenty of showers. There is a wal-mart and Walgreens within walking distance. San Juan beaches are a short walk. Beautiful 5-star avenida ashford is close by with locals and...

To be honnest, It should not even be on trip advisor. That's not a "good advise" for travelers. We went there. There was noone. Just a closed door with a locker (you need a pin code to enter). It says something like : "you have to book online". Not very traveler-friendly I have to say. So we booked online. I...

I've stayed at several hostels around the World (and so has my boyfriend) and neither of us has ever experienced anything that bad! We called in advance to arrange a later check in - the girl on the phone seemed rude and almost annoyed by us calling. We almost couldn't find the place because the entrance is so small and...

Mike is a horrible employee and person. When I checked in, Mike was on multiple drugs and was very aggressive and confrontational. This was definitely the worst display of customer service skills I have ever experienced. He was also being a pervert and grabbing girls. A guest confronted Mike about the perverted acts and Mike physically threatened the guest. He...

The 6 person dorm room conveniently not pictured here has no ladders for the top bunks on 2 beds so they could squeeze them in a too small room. It was super unsafe n the staff wouldn't allow me to use a chair to help me get in and out of the bed. The front desk person in general had...

If you are looking for a late check-in don't stay here. On the website it asks you to contact staff ahead of time for a late check in. I sent a message with my reservation 3 days before the check in date. I received confirmation on the day we were suppose to check in. Not really a great communication turn...
