Beautiful facilities and grounds. Room was spacious and clean. Casino was nicely run and clean. Pool bar staff were very attentive. Continental breakfast is adequate.
I was a bit disappointed in the lack of managerial oversight with room details. Some TLC is needed.
Better attention should be given to room readiness. After being up for 19 hours all I wanted upon arrival was to get to bed. When I got to the room the door was difficult to open. My husband had to push really hard to get the humidity seal to break and get the door to move. Then the AC was completely shut off. Had to call and get a maintenance person in to turn it on and test it. Then the safe did not work and the maintenance person had to be called again in the morning to come fix it. Later in the day I went onto the patio. When I came in the door would not close properly in order to lock it. Once again my husband had to work with the door for 5 minutes to get it to shut and lock. At that point we decided not to use the patio anymore. There were also other guests using all the patios as a sidewalk rather than going out the front door and using the true sidewalk. If you are considering taking an oceanfront room I’d suggest you take one on a high floor.
I wanted to share this feedback with Hilton when I left at about 10:30. Unfortunately there were 4 people in line with only 1 person on the front desk. After five minutes of waiting, without any forward movement, I left.
I’ve stayed at the Hilton in the past, although it’s been about 10 years since my last stay. It’s a beautifully located Hilton on the ocean. It has lovely resort amenities that are nicely tended. There is excellent access to Ponce. What the hotel needs is stronger management attention to room details.

This is a lovely spread out property in a great location if you want to explore the island a little more than just staying in San Juan. we stayed for 5 nights here before staying 3 nights in SJ and I am so glad we did. There were a few hiccups during our stay, but I would definitely return. The pool area is beautiful and you are steps away from the beach which is always a plus. We had a gorgeous view and although I never think paying for a view makes sense, I will say it was SO nice to walk out onto our balcony everyday to just sit and look out. We were 4 in the room and shower at least twice a day because we were always returning from a beach excursion or pool day, so not having enough towels everyday was a bit frustrating. I had to call everyday to ask for more towels because for some reason we were always supplied enough for just 3 people. That just didn’t make sense to me since when we booked I had to submit the number of guests in the first place. Additionally, i wanted to do a load of laundry before we left for San Juan and just couldn’t. We were staying in the Ocean Tower which was furthest from the lobby. i called to find out where there was a laundry available and informed that it was in the adjacent tower and that the machines take quarters that they would be happy to supply me with. Fine. I take a load to the adjacent tower only to find that the ONE washing machine was out of order & the only laundry detergent there was an opened box that I would have to scoop dry detergent from. At that point (its 10pm) I am not walking across the property to the other tower to look to see if that machine is working. We did enjoy a few meals and it was always pleasant except for the birds that would swoop in when others have finished and didn’t bother using the plate covers that are provided. No fault of the property, just worth a mention if you’re traveling with someone afraid of birds. We also took advantage of the golf club side and loved it there! The pool is beautiful, the beach is quiet, and the food was delicious! One day we used the shuttle to go over and the 2nd day we just drove because waiting for the shuttle when you’re ready to go was a drag in the heat. We did hit the casino a couple of times and that was nice too. Overall, it was a great stay and I would definitely return.

A family friendly hotel with enough activities to keep everybody entertained. If you’re looking for a romantic getaway this might be too family oriented.
The beach is not a swimming beach but the outdoor pool complex has daybeds, a spray park, a water slide, a playground, whirlpool and swimming areas for all ages. It’s a clean hotel but it looks kind of outdated. As a hotel guest, you can also have access to Costa Caribe golf course and pool. You could walk there from the resort but the easiest way is to get the resort provided shuttle to take you back and forth.
If you are looking for a place to just relax and have a nice vacation with your family, this is a good option. Food and drinks can be expensive but we purchased food and drinks on Uber Eats and saved some money.
We stayed at the Ocean Tower and the room felt large and very comfortable with a two double beds, a desk and a little nook with coffee maker and a fridge. The bathroom was also large and bright. Though perhaps not the most modern room, it felt clean and comfortable with a nice beachy vibe.

When we finally were able to get to our room after following the Valet's instruction not the map because the map and signs were inaccurate (surely it doesn't cost that much to change this when you rebrand your hotel) Had the BBQ Buffet $35 each for one table of salads, one small table of desserts and a choice of 4 meats and dried fished. In the morning you have to fight the birds off to keep them off your table and chairs while not leaning back in the chair because of the fresh and dried bird poop on the chairs. The employees are so used to it some shoo them away some ignore them, honestly its just gross eating around bird poop !!!! If they cleared the tables after people left the table instead of letting the dirty dishes sit there the birds probably would be less aggressive. On our first day while we waited 20 minutes in line to get coffee a bus pulled up and about 40 kids got off the bus in yellow shirts with camp counselors, you could tell they were about 12-15 years old, I didn't think much of it until we went out to the pool only to realize that some genius that works at the hotel that it would be a good idea to allow a summer camp to use the pool for the day so not only were the hotel guests trying to find a chairs and shade 1/3 of the pool deck was taken up by the summer camp. The pool was packed with the summer camp and the hotel guests not the idea of a relaxing day at the pool. When we tried to leave the hotel for the evening to go to dinner we could not get out of the "secure" parking area because nobody explained to us the parking situation you had to get your parking ticket validated so you can come and go that took almost 30 minutes as we had to wait in line at the front desk then with the parking company all in order to leave the resort. The next day we stopped at the front desk to get our pool bracelets again and we were told about the pool on the other side of the resort much more relaxing but you have to get a ride in a van over there and back. You have to go into the restaurant to get drinks nobody comes out to the pool. Overall not a great experience and could not wait to leave the hotel the morning of check out we were gone by 8:30 am.

September 27 2023 Wednesday night my wife and I checked into this hotel/resort at 8:00pm. We were expecting a resort type of hotel, but we were tired from driving down from the north part of the island. My wife has allergies to bud bugs so we travel with a black light (ultra violet) to better see bed bugs. We pull the covers off and check around the box spring and mattress looking for bed bugs or the excrement of bed bugs which look like little spots of either red or black. They poop out blood and stain the sheets as little red dots, when the sheets are washed, the poop turns into a black color. Room 436 (Main Building) we found bed bugs around the box spring cover, then we were moved to room 337 (East Building) where we also found bed bugs. Room 331 (East Building) we found bed bugs yet again, and this time we were with 2 hotel staff members (Norma and another gentleman with a name stating with O). They both clearly saw what we had found and I had hoped that they reported what they found to management. We finally were sent to room 325 which was clear of any signs of bed bugs. We stayed in 325 for the evening.
September 27 2023 in the evening we spoke with:
Receptionist: Lynette Manager: Lourdes
Lourdes tried to help us the best she could but asked us to wait to speak with Senior Manager Janet Johnson in the morning.
September 28 2023 10:00AM
We spoke with Janet and explained to her the ordeal we went through for 2 hours the night before and how we missed going to the pool and missed dinner service due to us dealing with finding a suitable room.
Janet was dismissive of our concerns and stated that they have never had bed bugs at this property and that we are mistaken in our findings and they what we found were not bed bugs but other insects. My wife and I are Hilton loyalists and choose Hilton brands before any other hotel chain. And we have never been treated so poorly in any other customer service interaction with Hilton.
Janet Johnson told us that Web Corp is the name of the 3rd party inspection team that inspects for bed bugs and that I would be provided a copy of the report for the 3 rooms in question. I am not confident that she will follow through and and provide the reports are promised.
My wife and I are somewhat bed bug experts and have done research and also experienced being bit by them on several occasions. We know what to look for when traveling. Janet did not have the same sense of urgency that we have and seemed very dismissive of our concerns. I felt disrespected and offended by her lack of professionalism. Janet Johnson said that we were just trying to get something out of this experience and I feel that she didn’t believe anything that we were saying.
This is by far the poorest experience I’ve had at a Hilton Hotel. Please check all the reviews on the Ponce Hilton before choosing to stay here and check for bed bugs.

We booked the hotel in Aug, 2023 and prior to arrival, requested for a room facing pool and was approved. Imagine our disappointment when we got to hotel late in evening, we were told our room would be in Ocean Tower, 5th floor! Staff stated it was an upgrade. No other rooms were available to switch so we accepted this so called "upgrade". The upgrade consisted of a broken sink, mold in bathroom ( various places), cracked tiles, stained mirror, non functioning coffee maker, non functioning elevator, an air con louder than the TV, and beds that creak! Needless to say, this is NOT the quality we expect from a Hilton property! I complained and was told if there was a new room the next day, I would be given one. The night staff also did not highlight amenities of hotel.
One of the day staff, Lourdes, was very helpful and managed to get me the room changed to a lower ground room the next day. I wrote an email commending her but upper management did not even bother to reply to my email. I am not sure if upper management cares about the condition of the hotel. I was also not happy that to use a microwave, there would be a charge of $20/day, as I had previously obtained food from their restaurant the night before!! Cold food is not palatable. Parking is $12/day. There were also lots of black birds and stray dogs roaming around. They have 1 pool only, the other is in another hotel/timeshare next door. Beach is a miniscule strip, mostly rocks and seaweed and the concrete patio overlooking the beach has 3 covered umbrellas and 5 lounge chairs! Read other reviews before seriously contemplating this hotel!

For my birthday, last weekend, my family and I used our Hilton Points to reserve a weekend in the Ponce Hilton in our hometown. Henry from the front desk was so attentive to the slightest details, very informative and found us an amazing room with an amazing ocean view. I enjoyed my room so much that I barely left it ; only to eat. As a Hilton Diamond, we received a Continental Breakfast which was very good and the following day we upgraded to the Breakfast Buffet for only $10 which was worth every penny.
When I need a time-out from life, I would love to return to this hotel and the room that was given to me.

Biggest disappointment when it comes to a resort, As much as I love staying at Hilton properties the service I received in this Hilton resort was really insane. I booked two rooms for my family and I for a nice vacation, I checked in around 4pm I didn’t get my room second room until 6:30pm because the keys were not working. After all that time waited they decided to change the room and gave us complementary full breakfast for the inconvenience and at my biggest surprise this breakfast was not noted on the system. i came in to get breakfast this morning as a Hilton Diamond member and all I here is nothing is in the system talking about full breakfast. Customer care and service in this place is just horrible. I would not recommend anyone when Visiting PR specially Ponce to go to that resort. Mamadou Kane

The hotel has very good facilities and they are in good condition. The room maintenance staff works very well. However, the maintenance of common areas needs to improve. During my entire stay I was able to observe in different rooms that the room service cutlery was in the hallways and remained from morning to night without being collected. They were filled with insects. Poolside food service was fast and the food tasted good. The food at the breakfast buffet was excellent. But the dinner buffet needs to be improved significantly. The meat is bland and overcooked. Also, very little variety for the price.

We gate crashed for the afternoon (we actually stayed at an Airbnb in Ponce for $70). We laid out at the beach, swam at the pool, and went to the casino. The positives: The pool area and outdoor bar area are really nicely done. There's an area with a big screen to watch sports games, there is a main pool with a water slide, a kiddie pool, a splash pad, and two hot tubs. The pool area bathrooms/changing areas are a nice, convenient addition with shower stalls, hot water, and soap dispensers. The negatives: The beach is advertised as a black sand beach.....eh, it was gray at best. You have to go through a very industrial gate to get to the beach area, which is very narrow and feels like an afterthought. The architecture of the buildings is very dated as well as the lobby area. The casino is small and cramped. They charge for surface parking in their parking lot (although only $3). The resort is in a really isolated area and the only attraction nearby is Ponce's boardwalk area, which was badly damaged by the hurricane and is still closed.
