My wife and I stayed here two nights at the end of April. Ponce is a lovely city, but the choice of hotels is pretty limited. We tend to like small, local places like the other paradores, but we had just come from a bad experience at one, so we opted for a plain vanilla, basic American motel when we reached Ponce.I think this is a former Day's Inn, and it shows. Rooms are comfortable and clean. Nothing especially memorable. A family kind of place. The swimming pool happened to be closed for repairs on our first night (bad timing); but it was delightful and offered an abundance of towels when it opened the 2nd day.A good value if you're not looking for a heavy dose of ambiance or luxury.

I got a good multi-day rate through Expedia which made it a value good value. When we first arrived, we were pleasantly suprised at how spacious the hotel was. It seemed clean and fairly modern/efficient. We stayed 4-nights though and as time wore on we became more aware of its flaws. Here are some:

Very small ants are all over the place.
Loud hallway since we were close to front.
Toilet backed up a couple times and had to be plunged.

That said, the pool was pretty good size (though chilly) and really the place met our needs.

One other note is that they do not have an elevator and the upstairs rooms are for smoking. Get a first floor room, even if it means less privacy. They sent us up there first and the smell told me right away to go back and get something better.

I've been staying at this property for many years. The latest remodeling and other property improvements have made this a much more pleasant place. The rooms are comfortable, and the on-site restaurant provides a very good breakfast option. The staff is always friendly and most are bilingual.

The rooms were outdated. I had 2 rooms. The rooms were musty. Rug really dirty. There was a coffee maker in the rooms but coffee was not included. You had to purchase for $1. Even in the cheapest motel coffee is included. Why have a coffee maker in room if they don’t supply the coffee. In my room it was total of 3 people and they only provided 2 towels. I had to request more every day. My sister had a separate room as well and her bathrooms toilet got clogged up and she called the front desk and you know what they told her unfortunately they had gave the plunger to another room and due to it being late they couldn’t call the customer to bring it back. They told her that they can send someone to her room at 6am to fix it. My sister had her 2 children under 10 in the room. She actually unclogged it herself. I don’t recommend this place at all. I was there for 5 days. I will not stay here again.

I had stayed here before a few years back, but disappointed now that I came back. The place is listed with ammenities like a restaurant and a bar-lounge. However the restaurant is only for breakfast. I arrive at the porperty at 8 Pm after a long day, just to find out there were no dining on-site, and no bar.

Also was shocked when I went to my room and the AC was on at 63 degrees F. When i approach the AC, it has a sign asking not the increase the temperature above 68 degress. Way too cold for me to sleep, or be in a room at. Not to mention the energy cost and waste.

Guess it is not for me.

My family and I stayed here last year when we took a trip around the island. We had a very good time here and we wanted to extend our stay but were'nt able to because it was a busy weekend. It was my first time here and we were assigned to a room on the second floor. The hotel was being renovated at the time, and although the first floor was very nice, work was still taking place on the second. My room was right next to where the work was taking place and they were using some sort of chemical that filled my room with an awful smell. I asked to be moved away from the construction area, and they immediately accomodated me elsewere. The rooms were very nice and very clean, and what I liked the most was that every morning like clockwork they would clean the pool. The facilities were very clean and the hotel was near everything. My family and I loved our stay in Ponce, it is a very charming full of history. We live in Puerto Rico but it is amazing how many places we've never seen! Ponce Inn made our trip delightful and we are definately looking foward to stay again.

We stayed at the Pone HoJo for one night so that we were closer to the airport for our morning departure. The proximity to the airport was the only thing that they managed to deliver. Upon arrival we needed to wait for the receptionist to finish her call with her friend to check-in. When entering our lovely room we found a mound of ants, a brown spotty ceiling from water damage and mattress fit for torture. That was the good part. Do yourself a favor, Ponce is small and easy to get around. Stay somewhere, anywhere, else.

Oh, I forgot to mention that I took the trash from our dinner downstairs to throw away so that we wouldn't attract more bugs. When asking the receptionist for the location of the trash can, she pointed to the parking lot and got back on her phone call with her friend again.

My family and I stayed at the Howard Johnson in Ponce and from check in time it was nothing but problems. The front desk gave us a room & the room wasn't even completely cleaned. The beds weren't made, there wasn't a shower curtain in place, & the bathroom vent wasnt working. As we are changing our clothing the maid walks in without even knocking at the door. We decided to go into the pool & my husband slips not once but twice because the tiles were so slippery as were other guest by the pool area but my husband got really hurt. My son which is like a fish did not enjoy the pool water because the water was so hot. Then with the package that we chose we were to receive complimentary drinks & breakfast but when we go to use them they told us that the tickets were no good & that they could not be used so after a constant battle with management we were reinbursed for the drinks & breakfast. Also their so called internet service was horrible you constantly got kicked off the computer. From the first night we stood at this hotel we wanted to leave. The service was horrific & the staff didn't seem to care about anything. Finally we checked out & went elswhere.

I stayed at this hotel for 1 night; thanks God it was only a night! When I call to make the reservation they gave me a price of 163.00 (“taxes included” - we were 4), but when I checked in they told me a price of 185.00 because supposedly they charged only for one person, but when I went to check out they charged 201.00 supposedly taxes weren’t included. They assault me with these surprises, but I just wanted to leave. I have to say the staff didn't seem to care about anything, there is no elevator and internet is limited to the lobby area, no internet was available in the rooms.

I have to admit rooms were clean but nothing especially memorable from my experience. It was my first time and my last here.
