#1 of 32 Speciality lodging in Isla de Vieques
Travellers' Choice
The hotel is located on a hill with wonderful cross-ventilation, surrounded by luscious vegetation and the soothing symphony of the native Coqui frogs. Being on one of the highest points of the island provides us with an amazing view of sunrises and sunsets. The island has hardly any light pollution, which creates the perfect atmosphere to see the stars at night. Under the right clear-sky conditions, even the Milky Way becomes visible for stargazers to admire. Each room is truly unique in its own way. The Victoria Suite, Nuria's Suite, Sahar's Treehouse & The Baez-Haus-- each carries its own distinct feel based on its location on the property and the design of the space. All have private facilities, beach & bath towels, small cooler, basic kitchen utensils, mosquito net and a lot of personal touches. Every room has a ceiling fan because of our breezy location air conditioner is not needed.

We had a great, relaxing stay at Finca Victoria. The food was amazing, the staff were most accommodating and good natured. The story of how the place came to be is very interesting. They use environmentally friendly and locally sourced products so you don’t feel like you’re adding to the mountain of waste from traditional tourist traps. The wild horses and night sounds and beautiful beaches were quite the experience for a diehard city kid. This was exactly what we needed.

Nothing but good things to say about staying here. Flew there from San Juan on AirLink, 30 minute flight on the tiniest plane but incredible views the whole time. Rented a golf cart from Vieques car rental and headed to finca. Wild horses were grazing outside of the gate when we pulled up. The vibe was so chill that I was almost worried my bubbly and loud personality might offset the place! But it didn’t. I soon became as relaxed as possible for myself LOL. We stayed in a Victoria suite with a king bed. My husband was shocked when I told him our room was the cheapest that I could find available because it was that amazing. The mini fridge was stocked with beer and wine—convenient but can purchase cheaper in town. In fact, we left our fridge even more stocked than how we found it. Tea, coffee and complimentary almond milk in room. Complimentary beach bag with two towels and a beach blanket. Complimentary cooler to take to the beach. The vegan breakfast was delicious as well as the snacks that you can purchase on an honor system (write down what you get). The muffins were amazing. I saw one girl every morning who had about 2-4 of the muffins and never wrote them down HAHA. I was like hmmm... I want the package she has, because the muffins were that amazing. The pool is open 24/7. We hung out there for two nights and chatted with other guests. At bedtime, it’s nice to sit out on the deck outside of our room and listen to nature. Which brings me to my only two things I think could’ve been better about our room 1. The chairs provided on our deck were tall metal rusty (it totally goes with the vibe but was scared to sit on them in my lululemon bottoms) stools. I didn’t find them terribly uncomfortable but my husband did, 2. No place to hang clothes or fold them and place into a drawer. I like for our room to be tidy at all times so it made it difficult when we were living out of a suitcase. It did not get too hot in the room during the night—the ceiling fan helped a lot. I heard from a couple in one of the two story rooms that they only had a wall fan so they got a little hot. We did not see any creepy critters or wildlife until the very last night, I was peeing and looked down and saw the biggest beetle I’ve ever seen in my life. If I didn’t fear him crawling into our suitcase (that I kept on the floor, open, under the bed) then I wouldn’t have cared. When my husband came to look he saw a second. HAHA. They disappeared under the sink somewhere and we just shut the bathroom door and slept soundly. Safe to say, they didn’t come home with us. Also, regarding bugs, we had natural bug spray with us and I didn’t notice any flying bugs (gnats, mosquitos, bees) at Finca Victoria. I would spray myself in the morning and maybe in the evening if I remembered to. With that being said, I do not get bitten by mosquitos (maybe have a handful of times in my life). So definitely bring some in case. The aesthetics of the place are top notch and so carefully thought out. We took many notes and hope to incorporate some into our new home. I also want to make a note about the yoga, we don’t do yoga, but we did it one morning. We did not feel stupid or awkward because we didn’t know what we were doing, they made us feel very welcomed. The whole staff was amazing and Chef Dossantos is a GOD. I’d be extremely surprised if someone from California or Miami hasn’t tried to snatch him up and take them to the US to be a chef. Regardless, I am so thrilled that he is at Finca Victoria and I can’t wait to return! Will definitely make sure I’m there on a Friday to participate in the vegan dinner series (we did it at their location in San Juan which was great!). Thank you to the staff for a memorable experience. You can see more of our time on the island on my ig @lauraisalwayswright

Dear Lauraisalwayswright, Thank you so much for this amazing, detailed review. We're so glad to have had the opportunity to host you both! We're so pleased that you felt both satisfied and comfortable in our tiny slice of paradise! We couldn't agree with you more that our chefs are amazing with their creations, and are so glad to know that you recognized their talents as well. We'll be sure to pass along your praise to Chef Dossantos in particular! We also appreciate your constructive criticism of the outdoor seating at your room. We can see how that would be an issue to possibly get rust on your clothing. And thank you for your deep appreciation of our design aesthetic. So much love and intention has been put into our spaces, so we're always delighted to hear that it is impactful! In regards to the beetles, we're sorry that they visited you, but are very thankful for your good attitude. As we are located in the jungle, this sometimes happens-- though we do our best to prevent it. All of our rooms are fumigated regularly by housekeeping, and we also provide diffusers filled with our own in house blend of insect-repelling essential oils. We also have an all- natural mosquito repellant in our common area that can also be purchased in our store. Again, we'd like to thank you for staying with us, and for taking the time to write your review. We'd to have the opportunity to host you again in the future!

Since I took the first step into this magical place, I felt the presence, the calmness and the love from the environment and the people. La Finca was amazing!. Starting with the pool area, it was the refresh that I needed as soon as I got to Vieques, and the common area WOW! In my case as a hypoglycemic, the need for food is a must, so the fact that they had 24/7 home made snacks, like lemon chia pudding, was a highlight in my trip. They also gave us a list of restaurants that are a most and a list of taxi drivers. If you come here, you HAVE to take a massage, its a perfect opportunity to reconnect to your body and give the nurture it deserves. My home for the weekend was to die for, amazing view, our door shower, BEST BED EVER. Definitely going back to see Gaba, Monica, Belin, Cheffdossantos and the Manager, who I sadly dont remember the name.
