This place offers no basic toiletries in the room such as shampoo, conditioner, soap etc. There are no true amenities, no breakfast available and the small jacuzzi size pool is by appointment only. The family suite although spacious did not offer comfortable beds and the king size bed somehow sank in the middle. The host Lisa, although she seemed nice in the beginning ended up being very rude at the time of checkout. We were late in doing our checkout by about 40 minutes because We had to travel further to get breakfast that morning since everything on the malecón was closed and taxis are not easy to get. By the time we got to the Inn to pickup our luggage and checkout the host was already in our room, had started cleaning and changing bedsheets and had removed our personal belongings from the bathroom and thrown all our luggage on the floor and moved other items outside the room. I was in shock as this has never happened to me. As I’m gathering my stuff I tried to check the bathroom to make sure nothing was left behind and Lisa said I could not go in as she had already disinfected it. The attitude we received from Lisa was basically you checkout on time or get kicked out. By the way, I was in communication with Lisa that morning letting her know I would be late given we had to go further out of town for breakfast. The most I would have expected was a late checkout fee but never that my personal belongings would be touched, moved and thrown on the floor. Had I gotten there a few minutes later I would of found my stuff outside the door. Very unprofessional and for this reason I would not stay here again nor recommend it.

The Esperanza in is just up the street from the waterfront in the charming little town of Esperanza. This is the best town to base your Vieques travels, and the inn is a 2 minute walk to the center of the action. The amenities are basic, but its the perfect spot to spend your time on and under the waters of Vieques.

Jay and Lisa are great hosts. The property is safe clean and well maintained. Very close to the beach. Town of Espranza is walking distance. Great food of all types. A car or golf cart is suggested if you want to explore the island. I have stayed here twice over the years. Althought the property is for sale so if it sells I won't be able to speak of what the future holds for this Inn.

It’s was a last minute decision to take few days off to take overdue break and reconnect w my 2 adult kids (now away in college)so...Surfing the web I was looking for some place that would pamper us & give us that 5star service. You know like those spa like hotels with all the celebrity perks. However,The only availability was this un assuming little Inn in Vieques - Esperanza Inn. We were not expecting much... yet we got all we needed and then some! although we booked it 3 days before ...we immediately got an email from the Inn keepers w information crucial to our arrival on Xmas day Dec 25th. We traveled from Puerto Rico main island to Vieques by ferry which was pleasant &uneventful. Once arrived we had called a taxi (number provided Esperanza Inn management email) which txt me while in ferry and was in front of port exit to pick us up- when we arrived - Jay owner of Esperanza Inn was waiting for us to check us in show us around and shared with us the history of why Vieques has hundreds of roaming horses all over island -we reserved 2 rooms (#5 full bed & Futton&#6 full bed - “love shack”) it was exactly & true to the pictures posted on web no surprises. We knew what to expect yet the little details kept winning us over more and more as each day passed- things like beach chairs, ice boxes, towels - local numbers for services, tours & restaurants (which are all in walking distance). The premises are kept super clean and organized . Rooms are eclectic “homey” (sheets are super cottony soft!) but very comfortable and well kept. Animals roaming the place cats dogs horses don’t get in your way... kindah makes u feel like ur in your own beach house getaway. Lisa & Jay - Esperanza In keepers are very accommodating, & know what to share with you to have a better stay they r great host! My kids and I had a super great time we will be back here again and definitely recommend for those wanting to take a break in a place that feels like ur own “beach house getaway”.

Lisa is a very nice and attentive host! She mentioned us alternatives of things to do and places to go. We went as a weekend anniversary getaway and they reserved us “The Love Shack”, a separate small and nice cabin. The place is very clean and walking distance to restaurants, bars and malecón (pier) area of Esperanza. The bed was ok but not comfortable! They serve continental breakfast. The rate was fair!
