We spent a week from March 26 to April 2, 2024. We were welcomed very warmly by Denise and her husband at the desired time. The bungalow was very clean and the air conditioning was already on. It was our honeymoon, we had the pleasure of finding a bottle of planter and local fruits. Denise came to see us twice during our stay to make sure everything was going well and we saw her again at departure and she took the time to chat with us. The place is very quiet and pleasant with a view of the sea. Very well placed in relation to the beaches, the Diamant and the market. We highly recommend this place +++

Magnificent view from carefully equipped gîtes. Little touches upon your arrival. Very clean and welcoming. We are delighted with our stopover which allowed us to explore the beaches of the South-West even if the residence is a little out of the way.

Martinica is a wild place. For those who're searching an accomodation in line with the style of its nature, Les Oceanides is the perfect place. Easy and simple, every room offers a private kitchen and a bathroom along with a small terrace. The owners are kind and friendly. The wifi is not always working, as in the entire island, but the position is great for moving to see some of the best spots like the diamant and le "anse noir". A car is mandatory if you're willing to move and visit other places in the north side.

I enjoyed my stay at Les Oceanides and was going to give a good review, too bad my experience was marred by the following experience.
I booked the residence through travelocity in March of 2016 for the Christmas time. Les Oceanides requested a deposit of about 30% to guarantee the reservation. Reservations at Christmas are popular. At the end of October my reservations were cancelled by Les Oceanides according to Travelocity. The house was immediately placed back on Travelocity for rent, but at a higher price. I was only notified by les oceanides after it was placed back on the Travelocity website. Les Oceancides said the "agency" cancelled it. I immediately went into panic mode as the 4 airline tickets were purchased. Being so close to Christmas I had to immediately rebook. The daily rate of Les Oceanides had gone up. Travelocity/EXPEDIA, same company when it comes to customer service, wrote I would be issued a refund for my first deposit. Now I had to pay the full amount.
After my trip, when I contacted Travelocity/EXPEDIA about not receiving a refund on my deposit for the first reservation, they promptly sent me emails showing the last four digits of my credit card and claimed a refund had been made. For five hours, over a two day period, i was on the phone with Expedia/Travelocity searching for the funds that were refunded and deposited back on my credit card. Then they told me that I had to call Les Oceanides for any refund.
As they do not speak English at Les Oceanides, I hired an interpreter. When he called they became rude and said to send a letter and then hung up on him. When I sent a letter, they asked for all my banking details to issue a refund but we finally agreed on PayPal. They did not refund all the deposit .
Be prepared for some other surprises. When I booked Les Oceanides in March, the Travelocity website said there would be a cleaning charge of 80 EUR. The website still shows an 80 Euro charge. The fee is actually 150 EUR. They may charge for electricity and water. The information is posted by the electricity meter in the house. Too bad I had to experience this as not only did it leave me with a bad impression of the residence but also of Martinique.

Chers clients, nous sommes vraiment surpris de recevoir ce commentaire qui ne reflète pas la réalité de cet incident regrettable. En effet nous travaillons avec Expédia depuis seulement quelques mois, nous ne connaissons pas cette agence "Travelocity" avec qui vous avez traité pour votre voyage et c'est bien là le problème (trop d'intermédiaire-pas simple à gérer avec en plus la barrière de la langue, c'était l'incompréhension totale). Sachez que nous n'avons pas la possibilité d'annuler une réservation faite par Expédia, tout cela pour vous dire que l'annulation a été faite par votre agence. Nous aimons notre métier et nous le faisons avec sérieux et nous essayons constamment de garantir la satisfaction de nos clients. Pour terminer nous avons remboursé intégralement l'acompte versé par Paypal (les frais ont été retenu par Paypal et non par nous). En tout cas nous vous remercions d'avoir séjourné dans notre villa et regrettons beaucoup cet incident qui en toute bonne foi ne dépendait pas de notre volonté. Bien à vous, Denise & Pascal
