We staid 1 week at their home. Everything was perfect. Nadine is a 5 stars chef and Patric is the perfect host. The two of them make you to feel as member of the family. Wonderful garden, room and hospitality. They are very attentive to your needs and they help you for everything you need. We hope to come back as soon as possibile. Many thanks Nadine and Patric! See you soon,
Gloria and Manfredo.

There are two reasons to go to Martinique: to see Martinique, and to be among the French.
The highlight of our trip to Martinique was having dinner with Patric, Nadine, and the other guests at the villa. Dinner is served on alternate nights, and everyone eats together. Patric begins by serving an aperitif (maybe a mojito, or rum punch, or a pina colada) and something to nibble on, like fresh coconut that Patric harvests himself. Then Nadine presents an appetizer with a local flavor, such as a mix of raw seafoods, or a creole bread pudding, followed by an entree with wine, a cheese plate, dessert, and finally a digestif of local rum. Throughout the meal, people talk (in French) about every conceivable subject. It is like being invited to a French dinner party.
The "forfait" (package) is an excellent deal. It includes the room, breakfast every morning, dinner every other evening, room cleaning every three or four days, transportation to and from the airport, and a rental car (note -- manual transmission). You are on your own for dinner on alternate nights... if you don't want to drive, it takes about 15 minutes to walk down the hill into town, where there are several pleasant sit-down restaurants. (Note the house rules carefully -- no eating in the rooms. So don't bring food back.)
The house rules make it clear that the villa is not a hotel: it is Patric and Nadine's home. The hours between 11am and 4pm are theirs; you are expected to be out enjoying Martinique, not sitting around the villa. Patric and Nadine could not have been friendlier! They didn't even seem to mind getting up at 5am to make us breakfast before our 8am flight.
There are now direct flights from Baltimore-Washington to Martinique twice a week... that, plus the "forfait" at the villa, allowed us to enjoy a fabulous Caribbean experience for much less than we had expected. And we had the unique opportunity to be part of a French home and to enjoy French food and company, while enjoying the beaches and beauty of Martinique. We are very grateful for the experience that Patric and Nadine provided, and will certainly return.

We had a great stay here with Nadine and Patrick. The hotel itself is beautiful: a stunning pool area and lovely seating outside each room. The hotel is only a 5/10 minute walk from the town of Diamant, which is a good base in Martinique, with a long, beautiful beach (albeit too dangerous for swimming) and a good selection of restaurants.
We don't speak much French, and Nadine and Patrick don't speak much English, but this didn't get in the way at all - we couldn't have asked for better hosts, whether helping us with logistics or laughing over a long, boozy lunch! We would also highly recommend the boat trip which Nadine and Patrick arrange, which was one of the highlights of our fortnight in the Caribbean.
A great three nights - highly recommended!

Located close to Le Diamant, a charming area. Owned by Patric & Nadine, ex farmers from France, who speak only a little English, but are learning fast! Very spacious rooms, lovely pool, and excellent breakfasts. No views though, which is the drawback. Nadine cooks dinner most nights if you want it. They also rent cars & can arrange everything you might want to do. I would recommend staying there if you don't mind not having a view.

I greatly enjoyed my stay at the Villa du Morne Larcher.
Patric and Nadine truly know how to take care of their guests. In the United States, we don't have the concept of "chambres d'hotes/table d'hotes", but you could think of it as a bed and breakfast on steroids, or a "bed and breakfast with some dinners". The meals take place at a long, communal table which is outdoors under a portico.
The week we were there, everyone was from France or Switzerland, except for one couple from the States. Yes, the conversation was in French, but some of the guests also spoke English. Translating French jokes was part of the fun ...
Nadine is a true gourmande and the dinners were of a quality one would fine in a luxury restaurant. Dinners started around 7:30 and lasted until around 10:00 -- lots of lively conversation.
Nadine was very generous with advice on what places to visit, we would not have known about the Morne Gommier without her. The first day, Patric took a group of us to the ferry to go to Fort de France, and then came in the afternoon to pick up our group. Patric was very professional and quick to respond when I was making the reservation (which involves signing a contract, which was not a problem). I very much appreciated being picked up and dropped off at the airport.
Martinique is a beautiful island, it is a "département" of France, so its citizens are part of the European Union and use the Euro. Lots of museums to visit in addition to great beaches and hiking.
All in all a very fun, sociable, and convivial experience, and I would go back. Not a place for Americans who just want a quick burger and fries while zoning out with a large screen television. No bowling alone at the Villa du Morne Larcher!

La Villa du Morne Larcher is a nicely located guest house / bed and breakfast in a charming surrounding in Le Diamant. We stayed in the Caraibe Room, nicely decorated, spacious and with all the amenities you might need. The property is located within an amazing and large yard, all well maintained and a genuine place of peace and calm. Everything is nicely decorated and well thought, down to the smallest details. The pool is large and clean, and offers a nice garden view. The hosts, Patric and Nadine, are simply great, looked nicely and sincerely after us, suggested excursions or restaurants, picked us up at the airport, offered comprehensive, tasty and varied breakfast and dinner, offered a car to hire at attractive fares and were simply great and very helpful. Good Wi-Fi available for free. All in all, we highly recommend this place and hope to drop by again soon.
