Great updated condo type rooms. Very quiet, but you can hear the loud music at night from the bar across the street. Pool is small and a bit chilly and there is no hot tub. Staff very friendly. Lots of great restaurants nearby. Only one small bar and restaurant on site. Market in walking distance for groceries. Watch for the high prices.
This is our first time back since hurricane and COVID. I like the new paint colors and furniture. The shade canopies on the beach and by the pool make sense. The location is excellent with several great eating places nearby (walkable). All rooms face the bay with its changing blue and turquoise colors. We usually get back in time for happy hours at the swim up bar. The concierge Gavina Williams was excellent in helping us with reservations and activities. This time we spent some time on the Royal Palm beach and snorkeling right there, which was handy and wasn't bad. We ate at the on-site restaurant a couple times, once for appetizers and once for dinner. They have shuffleboard, foosball and corn hole plus activities every day. My only complaint is that they need a separate pool for the kids - there are too many near the swim up bar and need to be separate. The pool isn't big enough for kids and adults. Be careful on ordering drinks to make sure they are included on happy hour. My wife was really upset when charged full price for her drink.…
First time here. Room’s exceptional, spotless, full set of dishes including pots and pans. Clean Bedsets. Comfortable pillows. Beautiful view . The staff absolutely helpful. Made every reservation as I asked for. Responded on time. Very nice pool area . Beach very clean but it needs more umbrellas to make it not that empty and more cozy. Will definitely comeback .
Perfect location and in the center of everything you want to do on the Dutch side! Directly located on KimCha beach. Although this isn’t the “best” beach (Still unbelievable) on the island, it is perfect for spending an entire day on or coming home after long day at Mullet Bay Beach, Maho, Phillipsburg, etc… The perfect home base with endless bars, cafes, restaurants in walking distance. EVERY ROOM HAS A BEACH/WATER VIEW. Cannot go wrong booking this place. Been twice past 7 months. Security 24/7 and huge hotel parking lot for rental car.
This loud music from across bar and Roxy beach club kill my vacation!!! It’s doesn’t matter the room size , pool size when you are not able to sleep on your vacation! Everything is fine if you’re planning party whole time! Need 200 characters to publish
Stayed here for the second time. It was previously a Diamond Resort, and it was nice, but now that Hilton has taken over, it offers a better overall experience. Nicer amenities in the rooms, longer hours at the pool, and more on-site activities, both for children and adults. The on-site restaurant and bar have not changed their offerings since my last visit, but offers a fair variety for all meals and happy hour snacks. The location and scenery is exceptional, right on the beach and within walking distance to many other bars and restaurants, as well as a couple of grocery stores. Just in case you want to cook your own meals. There are also beach side gas grills available and picnic tables. There is an on-site laundry available, free of charge. The suites are large and comfortable all with ocean facing lanais, and the entire complex is well maintained. The staff is friendly and available to answer any questions or to arrange special requests. I have already made plans to return to this wonderful resort! Maybe I'll see you there!…
After travelling around the area over the last few days, I think the location of this resort is the best place to be! There is a retracting bridge across the street from the hotel and you get to see big yachts come and go. Piles of shopping and restaurants in both directions leaving the hotel that are in walking distance. The staff at the hotel are very friendly and helpful. Rooms are very clean and nice. Beach is great and has the same issues as most resorts I’ve been to.. If you don’t get chairs early, you may not get one. “If you snooze, you lose..”😏 Highly recommend this spot. I gave it 4 stars because of a couple of small things. The quality of food and cocktails at the resorts only restaurant are just ok. But, piles of other restaurants all within blocks from the hotel. Some people make negative comments about concierge trying to sign you up for the time share orientation. Just politely say no if not interested… If you don’t own a time share they give you a blue bracelet to wear. I didn’t realize until day 3 that the purpose is to tag you as someone to approach. Just take it off. Overall, I would definitely return to this resort.…
The 2 bedroom unit we had was on the 2nd floor with the front door facing the Simpson Bay Bridge inlet providing us with the spectacle of watching superyachts come and go from the marina. Room was very nice, great size, comfortable and had a great view of Simpson Bay looking across to the Simpson Bay Resort. Beautiful sunsets from the deck and very comfortable beds and furnishings. As the women in our group commented, the rooms must have been designed by men because the only mirrors were in the bathrooms making it impossible to do hair or put on makeup when someone else was taking a shower. Small thing, put a mirror in the bedroom or living room. There was only 1 hairdryer for a 2 bedroom/2 bath unit with 2 women. Yes, had to order up another hairdryer. Small issue but shouldn't have to ask. The light switches for the bathroom were outside the bathroom so when you got up in the middle of the night to use the bathroom, you had to turn on the light, open the door, do your business, open the door and turn off the light. Again, a small inconvenience but very disruptive to other person that may be sleeping in the room. Staff was always very friendly, smiling and willing to help if at all possible. That brings up a larger issue we experienced. Monday evening upon returning to our room, we found a note taped to our door stating that the next day the water would be shut off from 10A-3P to repair a water main break outside the front of the property. Things happen, what makes a difference is how you handle the issue. The property had 1 hand sanitize unit that was out of sanitizer when we arrived on Friday and we never found it refilled. On the day of the shut-off, the only place we found hand sanitizer was behind the front desk, and only if we asked. There were no water stations setup to provide drinking water, hand washing water or anything. Since the toilets were not available for use, the note said they would have portable toilets available. There was no notification of where to find the portable toilets, again you had to ask and they were as far away from the front of the property as they could be. Not the end of the world, but an inconvenience. As I said, it's how you handle a problem that can make it good, average or bad. When we went to the front desk to inquire about hand sanitizer, water, etc the staff were unable to find any solutions and could only sympathize with the guests. We asked to speak with the manager and were told the manager was taking a day off! Really, when you are having an issue at your property, you take a day off. The supervisor told us the manager was entitled to take a day off. (Hey, my college major was Hotel and Restaurant Mgmt and it's pretty basic that if you know you're going to have an issue at your property, you better be there to take help diffuse any problems that might arise and not put that burden on your staff). Very poor management and decision making. Was disappointed in the size and quality of the beach. You can only walk out about 10-15" before encounter a sold, uneven rocky bottom. The sand beach was full of small stone, shells etc. They would pull a rack each morning but that didn't solve the problem of the small stones in the sand. Other properties I've been to, do the beach each morning with a machine that picks up the sand and captures any stones, making for an enjoyable walk on the beach, not one where you have to watch your step. There was trash (a trash can lid, metal chair, large trash bag, baby diaper, pair of children's swim trunks, etc) leaning against and in the rocks along the beach. They were visible, not hidden in the rocks. We picked the stuff up and piled them on the beach thinking the morning crew would pick them up and dispose of them. No, they were there the whole time we were there after we'd collected them. Again, it's the small things that make the difference between a just okay, a good and a great resort/hotel. The Royal Palm Beach Resort missed the target.…
This is a great family location. The rooms are huge and well equipped. The location is located on the main strip with all the restaurants and clubs. You are a short walking distance to everything. The staff was very helpful and friendly. You will not be disappointed with a stay here.
