I needed to write a review about desk reception, even doh i havent visted as yet. The phone call with reception did not give me any comfort that my stay will be pleasant. I find she was rude and didnt want to understand my position. I think that attitude comes from the "non-refundable prepayment/deposit" so even though service sucks you already paid to secure a booking. What i do not like is if i am using a third party app to secure bookings that the place of intended stay says "there is no need to contact you directly" . What madness, you as a hotel is supposed to call the client and advise them the booking was confirmed and you have it on record. Has anyone recently stayed please write an honest review of if this place is worthy of a visit. P.s i had to put a date or it wont take the review.…
My husband and I just arrived home from a week stay at Mary Boons. We were there from Jan 18-27, 2023 and experienced nothing but fantastic service from everyone. They may be short staff in the restaurant part but they work endlessly and provide incredible customer service. We ate breakfast at the hotel restaurant 5 of the mornings and not once did we have to wait a long time. We had dinner here three times and lunch 3 times. We also ordered from the beach some drinks during the day and always received top service and very friendly/polite service. I cant say enough about Leo and the other young man who often worked the beach (I didn't get his name). They were always cheerful, friendly, polite even when it was busy. If you have not ever worked in the service industry - then you may not understand how hectic it can be - have some compassion and patience. ALSO - the food is AMAZING!!! Hats off the the chef who was working during sinner time the week we were there (didn't get his name either) but the food was always delicious! The office ladies were also wonderful and housekeeping, the gentlemen maintaining the yard and grounds - everyone working together and always with a smile and greeting guests. The beach is amazing with the most beautiful sunrise and sunset. Friday-Sunday there is a beach bar open and music playing on the beach which was lovely. Rooms were clean daily, fresh towels etc. I cannot say enough good things about this hotel and everything within it. I cannot wait to go back. Location is great as it is a short walk to town, supermarket, convenience stores, many other restaurants, a smoothie truck not a far walk either. AC worked fantastic, hot water and shower was great as well.…
Absolutely great place and serious nice people at the reservation/office desks and great friendly people at the restaurant and Bar … we felt very welcome there… specially the other staff like housekeeping and security it’s like family over there…
They are incredibly short staffed - I would not recommend until they can increase their staffing. Service is double the time of a normal restaurant due to their staffing issues. There is a reason it is easy to get a reservation at short notice
Welcoming, quick checkin, room was ready, friendly restaurant staff, food was great, a beautiful beach front property. Ample beach lounge chairs and towels provided daily. Restaurant provided nice selection and was very good. Within walking distance of other restaurant. Near the airport so constant airplanes during the day overhead however, wasn't an issue at night for sleeping. Premises also have 2 dogs, 2 cats, birds and a tortoise. A/C good and room large. Pool was clean but stayed at the beach. Servers on beach were available to order drinks/food. No activities offered on site but many brochures for excursions available. Would choose a room next time in an adjacent building, noise carried from above and a guest had 2 dogs which were yappy at 630am? Grocery store within 10 min walk, and bicycles on premises but were in need of repair. Spa was not open and under renovation. Taxis readily available if you wanted to go into Phillipsburg or elsewhere. Would recommend and consider staying here in the future. Thankyou.…
We visited Mary Boon’s for a beach day. The good - the beach is fantastic and the food was very good. The BAD - beach service was horrible. There was one beach server for about 50 customers. The server was really nice, but moved very slowly. There should have been 3 or servers on the beach, not 1. Probably won’t go back.
This restaurant is understaffed. The beach service, if you could call it that, is awful. Don't bother to stay at hotel either. Walk in restaurant customers are given preference over guests. You're better off just getting an Airbnb in the area. I wish I had.
Went with my husband for a few days around New Year’s Eve. We had a great time at the hotel on beautiful Simpson Bay. The restaurant, bar, and beach bar offered good food, drinks, and service. Cannot say enough good things about the restaurant and bar staff. Friendly and efficient, they handled the crowd with ease. The place has a very fun vibe! Also, the town of Simpson Bay which also has nice restaurants, is within walking distance. This was our third stay at Mary’s.
We ended up here after abandoning the bikes that we had hired in Philipsburg. We found this beach by accident and I think it was the best day of our whole Caribbean cruise. The staff here were AMAZING, so attentive and helpful. We were able to take a sunbed for free, as long as we ordered food. The food and drinks were great. The beach is just along from Maho so yes, you get the planes, but the beach here wasn't busy, with beautiful sand. The staff made it though. Our few hours there were wonderful. The hotel arranged us a taxi back to the port for $25.
I spent 3 nights at this hotel. Spacious room Closed to the airport Restaurant on the property Delicious food Friendly staff Located right in the beach. A bit dated with the decor but it gives a rustic charm. Easy check it and checking out. I was lucky enough to get an early check in. They helped arrange transportation to the airport via Ricky who is great.
