After much research we decided on The Morgan Resort For our winter getaway. Granted we had some reservations because of the proximity to the airport but it was not a problem at all. We were delighted by everything about the resort the food, service, the pool, the accommodations, (junior suite) I recommend renting a car The Valet is free, of course we tip well and got 1st class service all around the property. Stu the GM was very helpful. We will return!
My sister and I stayed in st. Maarten for 4 nights at the Morgan resort and we loved everything from the staff, the food/drinks,the pool/beach, views and getting around etc. Only thing was it rained on & off 2 days we were there but we still enjoyed our time and definitely made the best of it! Special shoutouts to Natacha, Neema, Kenny, Kelvin, Yanick, Escalin, Ravi, Devin, Anthony & Benjamin for all your help and great conversations. We will visit again soon!!
We booked the Morgan for a 1-night stay in transit from an adjacent island. It “looks the part,” and has a few decent takeaways, but was disappointing overall. Here are the positives: it’s very close to the SXM airport; it’s the result of a very recent renovation; it’s relatively clean; and the pool was nice. Specific kudos to Valerie at the Salt Restaurant. She is delightful. The downsides outweighed any benefits. The front desk staff was generally unfriendly and inattentive. I often saw queues of guests awaiting an attendant being met with collective indifference. In one instance, the two attendants staffing the desk were arguing about whether and how to transfer a customer on the phone to a desk 10 feet away. This caused a meaningful delay in servicing customers physically waiting in line. I also called the front desk on our date of checkout and asked whether we could have an additional 2 hours because our flight was leaving later in the afternoon. The attendant told me it would cost $100 per hour for an extended checkout. Mind you, the hotel was at 50% capacity, so this should not have been an inconvenience. When I questioned the logic behind the $100 per hour policy, the attendant laughed dismissively. Not a good look. They also have a very random, fenced-off area with a bizarre collection of animals (geese, rabbits, turtles, etc.) that is in awful and unsanitary condition. The food was not very good at any of the restaurants. But the overall bad taste (so to speak) is rooted in the lack of tact and professionalism by the staff. I would highly recommend a general training in basic customer service and human resource skills. This is an okay spot if you’re a pilot, crew member, or traveler in transit looking for a brief respite near the SXM airport. It is certainly not a “resort,” and I’d be exceedingly disappointed if I expected to enjoy an extended break at this property.…
We just returned after spending 9 days at the Morgan. The resort is new so everything is new. The staff tries to be super friendly and responsive to your needs. We have stayed in about 7 different places over the years in Saint Martin and have always loved the island but wished that there were better places to stay (La Samana has the reputation but it need some renovations). The Morgan was great (even the pillows were more than acceptable). While it is right next to Maho Beach, I asked if they could make their own private beach as Maho is packed and was told that is their goal. The food in the salt restaurant was surprisingly very good. I had the Grouper sandwich 4 times and the fish tacos 3 times. This is not normal for me. Try this place and you will be pleasantly surprised
We had an amazing stay at the Morgan Resort! We don’t splurge often so we were really excited. Everything was great, the food was amazing, the pool was gorgeous, and lots of opportunity to relax while laying in the sun. However, as a young couple in our 20s, the staff treated us very differently than the rest of the guests at the resort. I am not sure if they thought we were a charity case and wouldn’t pay for things or what but we were blatantly ignored by all staff at the pool while we saw other guests being waited on hand over foot. It was extremely disappointing. We had a similar experience at the Salt restaurant the night before as the waitress treated us with great rudeness and disrespect. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would stay again, but I would highly recommend not staying here unless you wanted to be treated like trash by the pool staff.…
We dined at Salt restaurant on New Year’s Day and it was truly amazing and an experience to remember. The waiters are super friendly (shoutout to Renesha, she was so so nice and friendly!). The food is to die for 😍 truly amazing. We got a whole grilled lobster and Caribbean style paella: both were AMAZING and cooked to perfection. The paella was LOADED with seafood!!! To end we got a Caribbean Rum Baba to share, and that was also DELICIOUS! Great food and honest prices! Very very happy and will definitely be back.
I had a life-changing massage with Petal at the Morgan Spa, who thoughtfully responded to my needs and relieved months (if not years) worth of tension from my back. I could not recommend highly enough!
Vacationing at the Morgan Resort and Spa in St Maarten was one of the best destinations we have been to in the Caribbean. We have been visiting the Island of St. Maarten for 37 years. We love this island and refer to it our home away from home. The resorts property is kept in a pristine condition. Walking into the infinity pool or jacuzzi, at the ocean edge, you feel like you’re sitting in the middle of the ocean in a body of fresh water. The rooms are also lovely and the restaurant was wonderful! The staff is incredible! Asha and Andrew were great servers, they were always smiling and absolutely wonderful! McKinley was also fabulous. He took care of all of our poolside needs and is such a fine young man. Oswald the Room Manager and Mathilde the Reservations Manager were so helpful too! We would need 2 pages to name every single person who works at this resort. It was exceptional! When visiting the Caribbean, we highly recommend for you to stay at the Morgan Resort and Spa. We are looking forward returning next year!…
The hotel exceeded our expectations. The grounds were beautifully maintained, the pool was absolutely amazing and the room was more than adequately appointed. The only less than stellar comment I have is regarding the motion detectors used for the bathroom lights, but once we figured them out, they weren’t so bad. The hotel is very centrally located to many walkable restaurants, bars, shopping areas and a market. Of course the main beach draw is Maho Beach. There is a very nice observation deck where you can watch the planes land and take off if you don’t want to walk down to the beach. The staff were beyond accommodating, friendly and welcoming. Okefa checked us in with a warm smile, Devin unloaded our bags and helped us settle into our room, Derby quickly learned our routine and made sure our room was ready when we returned every afternoon, Ernell, Fabiola L. & McKenley made our pool days totally relaxing, Shamar, Yanick, Jean & Kelvin made sure our car was cool and ready for our daily adventures on the island. Every staff member greeted us with a smile and a helping hand if needed. We will definitely be back! …
The property is located on the Dutch side of the island and is sparkling clean, well maintained and very comfortable. The staff members are so friendly, attentive and go out of their way to make you feel right at home. We stayed in a Oceanfront r Suite where you have a private wrap around deck and amazing views of the ocean not to mention a front row seat for the sunsets. (Note, the Runway Rooms do look over the parking lot so you probably want to avoid these.) The property has one main restaurant called " The Salt". We had some of the best meals at this restaurant during our 7 day stay. You are a 3 minute walk to Maho Village where you will find a grocery store, restaurants and other shopping. We were concerned about the close proximity to the airport but we found this is not an issue with noise and it is fun to watch the planes come in for a landing. The only drawback is there is no beachfront at the hotel but if you are a pool lover this pool is amazing. Mullet Bay beach is about a 5 minute ride for those who need the beach scene. We highly recommend the resort definitely plan to go back soon!…
