Great resort - villas very spacious and great views. Some years since we were here but spent many vacations here when our kids were small and also before our kids were born. Very relaxed spot. Only downside bar staff little lazy and food could be...More
We had the most amazing direct ocean view... The studio was very luxurious well & decorated...the resort had a tropical.that was simply breathtaking...the beach was amazing ....Cant wait to return to the island of Tortola!
My friends canceled at the last min for this trip and everything was non refundable. I upgraded my room to the beachfront bungalow all inclusive. It was the best decision I could have made. The food was excellent!! The staff was awesome!! I felt every...More
Long Bay Resort was completely devastated by Hurricanes Irma and Marie. The resort facilities were pretty much destroyed. It is "closed indefinitely". Rumor is that it is being sold "as is". No word on future plans.
I don't usually write a review of Long Bay as we visit for up to 6 weeks every year (we have a time share) but this year it has improved dramatically and deserves a new review! We love it here and even when things took...More

Hi, it's a 20 minute hike to get to a swimming beach, reported to be the nicest on Tortola. The beach in front of the hotel is just for show--scary rocky bottom all the way and all the way up and down the beach. The pool is tiny. So no, I would only go with grown ups who don't mind a little walking.

I've been there 3 times. E mail or call LB and they can reserve a SUV for you. Each time I have rented I used their recommendation and they were great! And they are a short distance over the hill. When you get off the ferry at the west end take a taxi to the resort. It's only a ten minute ride and not that expensive. (This assumes you are flying into St. Thomas and taking the ferry over).
The food at the resort is very good. The restaurant right next door, Fusion, is GREAT! The chef is one of the owners so expect great service and greater food. If you like lobster there is a great restaurant a short ride from the resort. It's called the Coal Pot I think. There are two Pushers on the island and I recommend both. The one in Roadtown is the original. The other is right around the corner from the ferry drop off. Hint after you disembark from the ferry have the taxi ask to be taken to the grocery store next to Pussers. Stock up on booze and snacks! I would recommend that you get on the all inclusive food plan for breakfast and lunch.
There is no nightlife at the resort except when LB holds a buffet or brings in a guitar player. If you are looking to party take a day trip to Jost Van Dyke, Soggy Dollar, Hendo's Hideaway and Ivan's all great! If you are there on full moon go to the "full Moon Party" . I forget the name of the place but they can tell you the name. take a cab and stay away from the "tea"Ive alway stayed on the beach in the Villa. When I was there the room was adequate but was in need of some updating and refurbishing. Have a great trip! Please tell the waitress at the resort, Prudence, that Ed from Maryland said hello! She is truly a gem. Then you are obliged to sing a little of the Beatles song, Dear Prudence)..
