Very calm an quiet place, love the fact they have a sugar mill you can dine in. Unfortunately we were only able to have burgers which were amazing. The staff there seems pretty nice. It was a wonderful night. Hoping to return in the near future.
Need to see it to believe it. This Hotel located at the mountain side have one of the best view of Nevis. Rooms are just the best and cleanness. Quiet, very quiet place to relax. They also got their own beach site a few minutes away. Restaurant is a must, really good food!!!
Charming staff, a beautiful pool, delicious food, use of a private beach, and on Nevis the greenest most laid back island in the region. We have been going to Montpelier for over 25 years and it gets better each time.
My husband I have just recently returned from our 11th two week stay at Montpellier Plantation and Beach. We have gone there every year since 2010. Montpelier isn't for everyone. There are no TVs in the rooms, there are no wet tee shirt contests on the beach. Nor are there waiters coming around with frothy little umbrella cocktails at 11 in the morning. Nevis is a very quiet little island and Montpelier is a very quiet little family owned and operated resort hotel tucked discretely away in the hills looking over the Caribbean Sea, the antithesis of an all-inclusive, package deal kind of place, or conversely, of a glitz and glam over-the-top kind of place. If peace and quiet and simple elegance are what one is seeking, this is the place to find it. That being said, Montpelier Plantation is also a very friendly spot. The owner and manager are old friends now, as are the staff, most of whom have been with the hotel since long before we started going there. They greet us by name when we arrive each year, giving us big hugs of welcome. And they hug us goodbye when we leave, amidst promises to see each other again next year. Many of the guests, like us, return year after year, and have become our very good friends. Guests gather in the "great room" each evening for cocktails and those so inclined mingle cordially. Those who wish to remain private and anonymous are allowed to do so with no pressure; there is no forced gaiety at Montpelier, just a welcoming collegial atmosphere. The lovely rooms are spread out on the property, affording privacy and comfort, most with beautiful views of the lush lawns and gardens and the sparkling sea beyond. Daytime views are wonderful, but our favorite time of day is evening, dining on the stunning terrace as the sun sets and dark descends, illuminated solely by candle light, the moon, stars that we no longer see at home due to light pollution (and real pollution), and the twinkling lights of the town of Bas Terre on the neighboring island of St. Kitts in the distance. We've learned not to pack too many sweaters - the air is almost always balmy, even in the evening. Our only consolation upon our departure is knowing that we have already signed up for next year - same dates, same room that we love, and most importantly, the same friends who, like us, will return at the same time next year as well. Montpelier is not for everyone, but it's our little bit of heaven and our tropical home away from home.…
Elegant but not in the slightest stuffy! We loved Montpelier Plantation Inn. We were not alone, so many visitors were return visitors, as we will be. Beautiful surroundings in which to relax and enjoy. We spent two wonderful weeks here and I can honestly say I loved every minute. The little bus trip to the beach was a great way to meet fellow guests. All in all 5 stars!
