Quaint, little estate with adorable cottages & plenty of charm. Attended for Dinner - which was delicious! Sweet, friendly dogs & cats greeted us upon arrival. Has an upscale, yet laid-back feel. Certainly a must-see if touring the Island.

My husband and I spent the most idyllic week staying at The Hermitage in Nevis. This delightful plantation inn is found on the hillside of the island with long views sweeping down to Charleston and the white sandy beaches. Our room was in one of the 'gingerbread' houses scattered through the grounds and meals taken in the open verandah dining...

I can't speak to the rooms but the restaurant is lovely with veranda dining, a well-stocked bar, attentive service, and well-prepared food. The menu was surprisingly simple: a fish entree (Mahi Mahi, grilled with mashed green bananas, pumpkin and broccoli), a chicken entree, and eggplant parmigiana. No beef or lamb. Appetizers included grilled shrimp on a bean cake with a...

The Hermitage Plantation Inn is superbly situated amongst palm trees and captures the sun from morning to sunset and is wafted by light breezes. The Gingerbread House accommodation is delightful with netted four-poster beds, private sea-view terrace with hammock and loungers, galley kitchen, drawing-room and well-equipped bathroom. We enjoyed a swim in the pool each day at 7.15am before breakfast...

I only stayed for a single night (due to other travel commitments) so can't give a comprehensive review. Having said that, the owner very kindly accommodated my family for such a short stay and even provided a packed breakfast for our early departure. We were able to stay in the very lovely gatehouse, with traditional furnishing and the delightful sounds...

From the warmth of the welcome to the friendliness of the staff, the comfort of the cottages and the excellence of the food, the historic Hermitage encapsulates the best of Nevis. Not to mention the best rum punches. Charming and historic with a unique atmosphere, a week spent there over Christmas was altogether too short.

The most accurate representation of relaxation one has ever experienced. Not only does this apply to The Hermitage, but the whole island supplies a unique element of diversion from the stresses of a day to day routine and life. The Hermitage Inn takes pain away from the soul and cleanses it with its natural beauty and its own breath of...

We spent a week as a family staying in the Yellow Manor House just before Christmas. It was delightful in every way and none of us wanted to leave. A very historical setting with lots of interesting things to see. Very helpful staff and wonderful food. Very highly recommended.

Probably the most relaxing holiday destination we have ever found. The Island of Nevis and all its people friendly and welcoming and none more so than the team at the Hermitage. Great character based on traditional style cottages and a main house that is reckoned the oldest existing wooden house in the Caribbean. Naturally comfortable in a modest way that...

The hermitage is one of those places you dread reviewing. Deep down you know you have to tell the truth but really you would like to tell bad things and keep it secret just for yourself. staff. are all wonderful and Ritchie and his team go out of their way to make it a dream trip. The planatation feels like...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Hermitage is a small plantation inn with an excellent reputation for its charm and warm, West Indian hospitality. The guest rooms are like gingerbread cottages and are styled after the old Planter’s house with a tradition of elegant West Indian style, antiques, mahogany four poster canopy beds, and private verandahs, with swaying hammocks, in an orchard like setting of mango trees and tropical plants. The Hermitage offers tranquility and serenity in its peaceful environment. ... more   less
