A couple weeks ago I saw a special being advertised for reduced prices on rooms at the Kapok Hotel. It was a couple days before my husband's birthday, and I knew we couldn't get away for the entire weekend, so I decided to surprise him with one night there. We got there just after check in time and were greeted...

I chose to stay here because it was close to the zoo and on the qay to maracas. The food was great, the service was better and the room was adequate. No road noise was heard even though I stayed on the first floor towards the road. The gym was very good and the pool also.

Stayed for business. Ate at the hotel bar or at the 8th floor restaurant. Breakfast buffet was included. Nothing spectacular, but it was free, so you can't complain too much. The bartenders and waitress staff were fun, attentive and made sure we liked everything. The pool area was clean. On site washer/dryer (small fee). Free filtered Culligan water machine in...

The staff are friendly and rooms very good, clean and tidy. My first night was in a room overlooking the main road and was very noisy. The staff were happy for me to change rooms at a small additional cost but the rooms at the back of the hotel were much quieter. The upstairs hotel served very good food if...

Watch out for hidden taxes on third party websites such as booking.com!! We arrived thinking we had found a fantastic deal (what looks too-good-to-be-true probably is...) and were stung with an additional 10% service and a further 15% tax on top of the already mid-range price. Do not be fooled as we were! The price you see is inevitably not...

Very friendly atmosphere, staff and ambience. I stayed here for about three weeks, good food and selection of wines and beers. Rooms comfortable, air-conditioned, with usual equipment, cable TV, tea and coffee making facilities. Well worth a stop if in the area.

Very nice and clean, even though it's in the heart of the city,I found it to be very quiet, the only problem, was the broken bathtub skirt, however the shower and everything else was functioning, buying food at the hotel could be a bit on the expensive side, but good reasonably priced food can be found a short walk away..

The Kapok is presently the best value for money right now in Port of Spain. The rooms are standard size with built in flat screen tvs with English and Spanish stations with usual U.S. channels and also BBC channels. The bathrooms have been upgraded since I last stayed here with rain shower in bathtub that is shorter than usual but...

Much is well intentioned at this hotel and staff are generally helpful. Rooms are clean and comfortable with acceptable bathrooms. The pool area is relatively compact, but a pleasant enough place to unwind. One of the lifts was particularly slow and was not always in operation, and corridors do not match the bright and spacious ground floor area. Breakfast is...

I made a lot of memory in this place. It's pretty cool and a nice place to rest and relax. The staff are friendly and the ambiance was also great. The breakfast can improve though. However, the entire experience was amazing. Hats off.
