Detailed Reviews
Great location, especially if you're scuba diving or want to be walking distance to the boardwalk. This hotel is nice enough, the room was spacious. The bed sheets were old meaning that they felt rough and needed to be changed, the friendly housekeeper was happy to change them for me and they put some smoother sheets on making the bed comfortable. The bathroom has minimal amenities so if you like quality shampoo or soap you should bring your own. I took mostly cold showers since the water has to run for a long time to warm up. One light was out but didn't cause a problem.
I appreciate the bedside lamp with a wireless charger in the base, a good size TV. with connectivity to steam in e.g., Netflix etc.. Good wi-fi. nice size patio with table and a couple of chairs. No great views even though my room was listed as garden view, one side faced a wall and the other was the parking lot. It was not luxurious, but functional for my stay. I stumbled across the yoga room that is on the roof top and I wish I knew it was there since I saw the sign on the last day. It is a great place to practice alone and has clean mats, bosu balls, blocks and straps, great for any fitness enthusiast, you can train with the fresh air breeze making up for the rainy day that cancelled some of the out door activities, they should promote that better since I didn't even know it was there and I just paid $30 to work out at the local gym, I could've worked out there for free!

The Holger Danske is centrally located near the water and where the restaurant and shopping action is in Christenstead. The room was large and clean with partial beautiful views of the harbor and the mountains. The balcony as awesome! We had a fridge and microwave which can in handy.
I would have given five stars except the nice front desk staff needs better training.
The day before we left, we arranged for a 12:30 checkout. However at 10:45 the next day we were told we had to vacate at 11am because someone was waiting for the room and the person who gave us the late checkout had no authority to do so.
Otherwise, I would definitely recommend this hotel.

I have mixed feelings about this place. It's really old school, which I like, but just like everything in Christiansted, overpriced for what it is. All said and done, you're looking at 2 bills per night for what should be $100 hotel.
Another thing to note, if WAPA (power) goes out, there is no generator, so you're stuck with no running water, air, or lights. Probably the only hotel in the area with no backup.
The staff are all very nice and accommodating! Anything we asked for, they gave us no problem.
If night-time boardwalk noise is an issue, you may want to look into one of the hotels set farther back from the water.

We had a really great experience at this hotel. We were visiting on our honeymoon but didn’t want to stay at a resort because we really weren’t planning on being inside a lot, so we decided to go with a more cost-effective option. The hotel is right on the boardwalk in Christiansted and has a gate code, so it was pretty easy access to the area, making it very convenient for shopping or dining. My mom wanted to have a special gift for us in the hotel room when we arrived and the manager (Debbie) put together a great basket for us and had made the towels into swans, she really took extra time and effort to make sure we had a great stay! We were able to catch up with Debbie and it was really great meeting her and being able to thank her for the basket. I know they don’t get a lot of tourists that stay here, but I honestly don’t understand why - we had a great experience. There could be a few updates made but it wasn’t rundown, the room was spacious and clean, and the bed was really comfortable plus the patio was quite large for a hotel! It was really quiet, minus the nearby road construction and the roosters and chickens which the hotel can’t help and you’re going to probably have anywhere else on the island as well. Our only minor complaint would be that there is no elevator, and we were on the third floor – it really was only a challenge bringing our luggage up when we arrived and down when we were leaving, otherwise it was no issue for us at all and we honestly loved the vaulted ceilings of being on the third floor. We did choose a partial water view instead of booking the full water view and wished that the trees were trimmed back a bit by the patio so we could see more of the water but when we walked out the door, we had a really great view so that made up for it! Overall, we thought this was a pretty decent hotel and the staff was truly great which always makes for a good experience.

The location of the hotel on the boardwalk was fantastic. It was close to everything, but near the end of the tourist area, so that it was also quiet. We had a room on the ground floor with a patio that allowed us to enjoy the Caribbean air and felt secluded. The room was very clean and the bed was comfortable. The staff was incredibly helpful. The hotel itself is a little dated but suited our wants and needs perfectly. There was an issue with no hot water for the shower, but this was fixed within 24 hours. I will definitely come back and stay here again.

Clean room, lovely view of the government lot. Lot of activity to watch during the St Pats celebration. Security was visible around the hotel. Once the noise died down around 2, sleep was easy in the room. Around 7 AM or a little earlier a backhoe, dumpster and bucket truck were parked next to the first rooms and a mango tree was removed. We checked out so not sure when it stopped however watching the other guest come out and try to figure out what was going on was fun. Life is like a box of chocolates, sometimes you get the sound of a chainsaw and branches being dropped into a dumpster from tree stories up.
Would stay again but would ask about their landscaping schedule.

We are so sorry about the morning tree removal. We were surprised it was happening at that time. We had been waiting for weeks to get the tree removed and the morning after St. Patrick's Day festivities definitely was't the ideal time. We hope you will stay with us again!

Good hotel overall for the price in the area. Just had a weird scratching noise we couldn't find at late/early hours of the night in an unspecified room. First taught it was coming from inside the walls. Then realized that it's a solide concrete between the bathroom wall and the bedroom area. Then it sounded like it was coming from the roof. Then taught it was the wind but didn't hear it at all during the day.

This hotel is nice enough, but feels dated. The room was large, with a lot of wasted space. The walls could use paint, or some paintings. The bed was old, but decent. But the bathroom was freshly remodeled, and there were quite modern touches: a bedside lamp with a wireless charger in the base, and a gigantic wall-mounted smart TV. Good wi-fi. I had a small, semi-enclosed patio with a couple of chairs. It just faced a large wall, but somebody attempted to lighten the load by slathing the wall with a bright, nautical mural on this side! It is a good location, within an easy walk to the seafront and historic sites. They charge for parking in a very small lot, too. It was not luxurious by any measure, but functional for my stay.

This is the largest hotel room I've been in. You could fit a family full of luggage in here. It is quite spacious. The hotel is next to the boardwalk which is one of the best areas to be on the island. There were various choices for breakfast and dinner.
Check in was swift. Wi-Fi was challenging. It appears it needed to be upgraded. As a business traveler, I did not get to complete any work the first night, especially since the night clerk did not have a work around. The next morning, the morning crew was able to assist so that I could get some work done before my meeting.
The property was well-maintained.

I decided to call before i book a room. the customer service was horrible. I literally had my card information ready to book the hotel. I called to ask if there is an age limit to book and check in and she said she cant give me that information at this time. So yall expect us to book a hotel not knowing the age limit. I also wanted to ask her if there were any extra fees that i would have to pay upon arrival. She slam the phone. yall need new workers. Wont book because the customer service was horrible before i even paid.

We are about 14 miles from the airport.
We do not offer shuttle service.
The cost for a taxi is around $20.
There is parking at the hotel for a few cars while we were there we had no problems finding a spot. Otherwise it would be street parking. We were there in November.
I do not use hair dryers so I am not sure. My husband says he did not see one. You might want to call them.
