Detailed Reviews
Great staff! Our flight had mechanical issues so we had to stay an extra day. (Boo...YAY!!!) A bunch of websites showed limited availability but we just showed up. Adorable boutique hotel with the friendliest staff!! They were more than accommodating. They even recommended a few places to eat. They offered a discount to their sister restaurant down the street which had the best deck views! We stayed in their west-facing room with a balcony that offered an incredible view of the sunset. It was a great finish to our getaway!

So we planned this trip literally last minute and this hotel was only one available in our price range. It had 4.7 Google rating so we felt okay making the reservation. First it’s very clean a the service is great. The bed was extremely comfortable!! The breakfast restaurant in this hotel is really good and affordable. This is not a 5 star hotel but we had a nice room with ocean view (would recommend a low level ocean view room otherwise trees block the view). Free beach towels as there are 2 beaches very close by. This area on St. Croix is very different from Christiansted. To be honest, at first we were disappointed but learned to appreciate the charm and there are great bars and restaurants within walking distance. You will not see a better sunset than here. When a cruise ship is in port, it does get crowded but everything is open and street vendors everywhere!! Roxy checked us in and was friendly and full of information! Definitely rent a car and explore this amazing island!

I really wanted to give this place a 5 star but unfortunately I cant. When arriving at the hotel, we were greeted very warmly, our room had a water view, nice balcony and close to the convenience store. However we did not have hot water in our room. We were only staying one night, and immediately got in the bed on arrival. We didn't realize there was no hot water until that morning when trying to take a shower. We didn't bother to complain about that but I also think room #310 needs some TLC as far as updating and repairs. Other amenities in the room such as the kitchenette with a full size refrigerator, coffee maker, microwave, and and additional sink was a nice touch. The umbrella and lounge chairs on the balcony was nice too. Would I come back? I would as long as it's a better room for a longer stay.

The Inn on the Strand is now The Frederiksted Hotel. It is located directly across from the beach with beautiful views if you choose an ocean view. Rooms begin on the second floor with steep stairs. You use a code to enter both your room and exterior entry into the property. Very well lit at night. Front desk assistant is not always available, but helpful. Upon arrival I was advised that they were under new ownership and renovating. The hotel has great potential to be an amazing property, but as for now it is average. Rooms are neat and clean, but a bit run down. My room had a kitchenette with nice fridge. Great option. If you plan to be on the go, it’s a decent choice. Your rest may be interrupted by the iron from the street that clanks loudly every time a car drives past. Otherwise it is peaceful. Perfect for those seeking rest. In the courtyard there is a little cash only restaurant that serves fresh, tasty breakfast only until 11am daily. You are within walking distance to many restaurants and the beach. Vendors are plentiful if a cruise ship is in port, but other nearby shopping is limited. Parking is curbside at your own risk. I am frequently on island. I will give it some time before I stay again. Hopefully all of the improvements promised will be completed. It’s a true Pearl in the oyster. Room interior is as pictured online. I did not add negative interior pics in hopes that they will improve. Will update my review

This place is amazing!!! Amazing ocean views!!! My family and I stayed here for a week for my wedding. This would not have been possible without Roxy. She is the nicest person and she handled the entire wedding for us including the beach set up, music, photographer, catering at Louie and Nachos beach bar(Very good food and service), and she is also the ordained minister that performed our service. The owner Monty was on site every day and was very friendly and helpful. I can not say enough good things about this place and I am very grateful for all of the hospitality from all of the staff at the hotel and the bar.

Stayed there for 4 nights.
It was a small room, a small bathroom and a "kitchen" but there was no plates, cups (only papercups) cutlery etc., only a microwave, a coffee machine and a fridge.
Nowhere to hang your clotes.
The towels vere old and worn.
You can get cold water 24/7 at the reception.
We payed for an upgrade to got a room with seaview and balcony. There was a bit of noice from the street, but it is a very quiet city.
No daily cleaning at the room which for me is the luxury of staying at a hotel.
BUT
the place got a new manager and he startet to bring the hotel back to a higher standard. They have startet renovating some of the rooms and paintet the whole hotel.
The kindness and and helpfulness we got at the reception was more than expected. I am sure, the hotel will be a lot better over the years.

Pros: The hotel is location is great, walking distance to many restaurants in the area.
Genuinely friendly, incredibly knowledgeable, and kind staff, John was helpful in giving food recommendations (except that courtyard breakfast) - that was terrible. Liked the laundry option provided and the balcony views. AC worked and I like the fridge and microwave in the room
Con’s: it’s an older property so don’t expect bells and whistles. Room was decent size and the only thing I would have like is a desk and chair. Also no elevator so be prepared for that, as well as older exposed plumbing in the room.

From the moment we checked in, the hospitality and friendliness of the entire staff was top notch constant! Roxy was there when we arrived and she was “over the top amazing” our whole stay! I am happy to say I made a new friend. I am in the business so trust me…… I must also mention John at the desk, also amazing! They work hard to make everything the best for your whole stay.
The room was comfortable and felt like home immediately. The bed was so soft and squishy it was hard to get out! I haven’t slept that good in years. The kitchen was great, large refrigerator, microwave, coffee, large counter space and sink.
There are tons of places you can walk to for all meals. Beautiful beaches within minutes.
Car rental is a must! No public transportation but that’s ok, you want to tour this beautiful island!!!!!
The vibe in the whole hotel felt good and I would not stay anywhere else going back to St Croix!!!!!!!!!
