Rooms were dirty - House keeping needs a total training for a 5 star hotel .Food was below average and overpriced. Had dinner with family on the beach ( 5 people including two kids ) that cost us 1550 with no alcohol. Staff organize taxi service to scam their guest. corrupt is the only word i can use. Total cost 45k for 5 nights .

I tried calling Cliff Brutus since he responds to all of these reviews - even while we were on property, but could never reach him. If you would really like to have a conversation then please call me. We were in 343E and checked out March 30th, last name starts with W, you should be able to find us. If I get any type of response I’ll update my review accordingly. We had Club Level benefits for our 8 day trip, and the food in the club lounge is mediocre at best and the service is ridiculously slow. Be prepared to stand in line for 30 or more minutes to get any cocktails or food. Even just a simple rum and coke they have to go in the back and prepare for you and it takes forever. If there’s a line of 5 other people waiting forget about it! We understand some adjustments had to be made for covid, but they need a logistics expert to look at this situation. I don’t think this property was ready to open. They ran out of beach towels twice during our stay, we could never get a person to answer the phone or if we did they just left us on hold for 30 minutes (including before our departure, which should have been a red flag!) There was a dead orchid in the middle of the club lounge the day we arrived and 8 days later it was still there. A guest dropped a drink on the stairs and I had to ask that the glass be swept away after three days (the orange from the drink was still left behind. They originally put us in the wrong room at check-in and it took 4 hours to get the proper room, even though they said it was being cleaned immediately. The beach is very rocky, so bring water shoes. We’ve traveled all over the world and stayed at all levels of hotels and this was our second worst stay ever. Most definitely not worth paying Ritz prices for a Hampton Inn experience! Of course, there were a few individuals who definitely had the Ritz training, but most seemed to have no idea that they worked in the service industry. In the club lounge Peter, Jade and T’(I’m going to get her name completely wrong) were great. Maria and Constantina also tried to be helpful. The taxi stand was quick and efficient as well. The reef right off the beach is also nice.

My husband and I recently traveled to St. Thomas for an anniversary vacation (long overdue!) . We had the trip planned since December (it was a Christmas gift), and we were so excited! We booked spa treatments and excursions. We took our required Covid tests and got travel documents. Our flight arrived early (before checkin), so we went down and had a long lunch. Despite requesting early check in (1:30 arrival), our room was not ready by actual check in time (4PM) and we were nearly late to our spa appointment. Spa and room sorted, we had a long chat with the concierge (Karen ), who was AMAZING!! She went out of her way (and called in favors) to get us reservations for all of our nights' dinners. Breakfast was good (not included with the room, and somewhat overpriced, but on the resort nonetheless), but resort dinners were not anything to write about. Sparse menus and mediocre servers made it not worth making a reservation for. Room service breakfast ordered was fabulous, as was the bell stand (always got a taxi and plenty of cold water!) . Housekeeping seemed busy at all times (though they were responsive when called). The grounds were impeccably maintained and the staff were always VERY polite. We took an excursion on the Lady Lynsey (dinner cruise) and also availed ourselves of kayaking and snorkeling gear (included with the resort). Those staff were amazing and experiences well worth it! We left with great photos and memories! Areas to improve would be evening servers, housekeeping, and more efficient checkin. Otherwise a lovely visit and would definitely visit again!

There is something seriously awry at this Ritz Carlton. The disappointment began from the first moment when we were escorted to our room where the floors were visibly dirty and hadn’t been cleaned. (And never were, throughout our 8 day stay). Housekeeping was unfortunately not the only problem. We didn’t get towels 50% of the time during our room turnovers. We rented cabanas multiple days and had good service some days, and others literally had to hunt down our server to ask for things. When we found someone to ask where she was, the other employee came back to us and said that she, also could not find our server. Mind blowingly poor guest service and experience. If you need anything, you will wait on hold for 30 minutes, only to never reach your desired person. We wanted to book a beach dinner. We did so, but because of 25 mph winds wanted to cancel. We started attempting to do this around 9:30 am, when we went out and our silverware and belongings were flying off the table due to winds. They told us we would be charged a $150 cancellation fee for canceling. Even though it was simply due to inclement weather. That being said, I’m glad we canceled because the food at this hotel is mediocre at best, and you are better off taxiing in town for a hamburger. Theres clearly a problem with operations and management of employees. There were outliers that did provide good to excellent service. (Janet, Jennifer at the spa, the Sails bartender, the main beach towel person and pool towel person). But those that did not, really ruined the experience. It seems the resort has a bad reputation with locals, maybe making it difficult to recruit or retain good people. We heard the locals have been banned from being guests at the resort, which seems horrifyingly rude. We wanted massages, pedicures, and the whole week, they didn’t have any openings. For the price point, they don’t deliver. The property renovation was beautiful, but it’s not worth it. There are other beautiful resorts. Go somewhere else with your time and money. This doesn’t deliver a Ritz experience.

Our stay started out nicely with a well appointed accommodation and warm welcome. Over the course of the week the service went downhill. Our chairs were given away at the pool while we were at breakfast after generously tipping staff for 6 days (management packed our things while we waited for a table at their restaurant), meals overcrowded with long waits, cabs given away at reception, and when we finally raised an issue, management was completely unapologetic offering no solution. The resort in general became way too crowded and it is clear the hotel cannot appropriately manage the influx. Unfortunate experience. We’ve never given a hotel this type of poor review in our years of travel. Not a ritz experience.
