Before my boyfriend and I went and stayed at the Bluebeard's Castle Resort, we read a lot of mixed reviews, that is why I wanted to come on here to say how happy we were with our time here. We had an amazing room overlooking Charlotte Amalie harbor, which was a huge perk, but even without that, the restaurants were...

We were on a RCI time share exchange. The view from our unit was of the city and harbor. Enjoyed watching sunsets from the balcony. The facility has one eatery for breakfast and lunch with three for dinner==be aware of gratuity being added to the bill. We appreciated the free computer in the lobby. Front desk personnel varied in helpfulness--we...

Our room overall was clean and equipt with essentials. We did not spend a lot of time in our room only to sleep and shower. The staff was very friendly and helpful to book excursions. The restaurant was amazing but a little expensive. We rented a car to get around the island, the road signs are terrible.

It is a typical "no ammenities" resort. Restaurants are very good and so is the ambiance. My experience was good overall except for the resort's front desk personnel. They are unfriendly and make you feel as if they are doing you a favor. Terrible experience during check in and check out with different personnel. They don't acknowledge you, they do...

We had a mix of feelings about this resort. First of all make sure to bring your confirmation with you to check in. When we arrived the resort did not have our reservation in their system. We had booked through a web site so this could have been the issue I don't know. There were two other people that arrived...

Everything was just great except roosters. They woke us up every morning at 3:00am. View from the balcony just amazing. Restaurant was really very good. Towels we had to exchange at reception, no rom service. Internet $10.00 per day and very weak. Weather in December very nice. Nice swimming pool .

Rooms were clean and spacious with balconies that overlook the town and bay. I greeted each sunrise with coffee on the balcony, admiring the view. The staff is friendly and helpful! There are three restaurants at the resort from fine dining to casual. The pool has a restaurant/bar that serves breakfast and lunch. There is a store at the resort,...

From the moment of check-in, I was impressed with this full service resort. The room was very comfortable and the view from the balcony was stellar. Taxi services were provided whenever I went anywhere on the island. Two staff members stand out for me. Victoria scheduled the entire vacation time with activities that were entertaining. She was able to answer...

I'm not one to stay at 5 star expensive resorts. All I need is a place to lay my head, store my belongings and take a shower as I discover the island(s). Bluebeard's Castle was a great value. My room (406) had a great balcony overlooking the bay. It also had a kitchenette (didn't use), a safe and a good,...

We stayed at Bluebeard's in early November of 2016. We were in building III, on the 3rd floor. I was a little bummed about this time share when I first booked it, because I really wanted to be on St. John. But this ended up being such a great place for the price! We were able to travel to St....

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Bluebeard's Castle is an historic property dating back to the 1600's. The resort occupies an entire hilltop with spectacular views overlooking the harbor and town of Charlotte Amalie. Its signature red rooftops are among the first sights for arriving cruise passengers. The resort includes a centuries-old fortress bearing the name "Bluebeard," after the infamous pirate, and check-in takes place in the former residence of the Danish governor of the island. This tropical paradise is the perfect place for a private getaway as it is set on a secluded hilltop and overlooks the harbor of St. Thomas. Bluebeard's Castle is centrally located in the most desirable part of the island with world class shopping minutes away. With only a short drive from some of the most popular beaches in the Caribbean where you can enjoy boating, scuba diving, snorkeling and windsurfing. The island itself offers a wonderful assortment of duty-free shopping, world-class restaurants (including the top-rated ROOM WITH A VIEW on location!), hot night spots, and a variety of local flavor to satisfy every taste. This resort features history, breathtaking views, and easy access to town. Beaches are literally minutes away so you can visit them all including easy ferry rides to St. John and the British Virgin Islands (Tortola and Virgin Gorda). You will see why owners at the resort are passionate about their units. It is this passion that will once again be the reason that Bluebeard's Castle will become a sought after destination resort. Many lucky RCI members will take advantage of this now! The resort is in the midst of a historic multi-million dollar remodel that will change all that you have heard.
