The best thing about this property in the location. You are central to Frenchtown and the harbor. Ferries, restaurants, and attractions are all within a reasonable walking distance. The property is dated, but still a reasonable value for the price. Be aware you need to request the fold-out couch in the standard room, if you want one.

My husband and I stayed at this resort, if you want to call it that. It is very run down, terrible customer service and way over priced. We waited an hour after check in time to get into our room and when we finally got the keys, the keys did not work. We then had to wait another forty minutes...

the room was adequate, the restaurants were good except one, the Banana Tree where they served raw or undercooked chicken. I spoke to our server Layman about it and he checked with the chef who said that is acceptable to have it close to the bone....HOW MANY TIMES HAVE YOU SEEN UNDERCOOKED CHICKEN AND THOUGHT IT WAS OKAY?

The resort is in extremely shabby shape. It looks like the owners have not made any updates in decades. When we checked in, we were handed a list of time share weeks that were available for sale for closing costs only. Owners are trying to give away their property just to get out from underneath it. The place is run...

Had an absolutely wonderful stay! Staff is very helpful in every way. Wonderful views from every direction. Would recommend to rent a car (from first rent a car), as taxis can become expensive fast! Overall experience at blue beards was excellent! Would recommend! Plan on going back in the future.

The "resort", mostly time share (as I was) is very old. No frills, no "amenities". It sits very high on a hill, very challenging to walk around. Hundreds of steps. Bring lots of cash. No "charging to your room". Lobby staff is rude and unhelpful. Concierge "sold" me a trip and never reserved transportation. There were nine of us going....

This hotel is a true castle, it's beautiful! The room was just enough for us and very clean, we were traveling with a toddler and can honestly say it's a great family hotel. The views are beyond amazing you overlook the harbor and we managed to see a few cruise ships come in and go out. We didn't spend much...

Good thing about this time share property is the location close to the port and Charlotte Amalie shopping zone. Good value for the price. Nice view of the port. Keep in mind that the checkout time is 10am instead of noon.

We got a great last minute deal on airline tickets to St Thomas, so we had to scurry to find a place to stay. Bluebeard Pirates Pension was one of the few places that had vacancies for the week of our travel. The reviews that we had read were not overly positive, but with few options available we took the...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Bluebeard's Castle is an historic property dating back to the 1600's. The resort occupies an entire hilltop with spectacular views overlooking the harbor and town of Charlotte Amalie. Its signature red rooftops are among the first sights for arriving cruise passengers. The resort includes a centuries-old fortress bearing the name "Bluebeard," after the infamous pirate, and check-in takes place in the former residence of the Danish governor of the island. This tropical paradise is the perfect place for a private getaway as it is set on a secluded hilltop and overlooks the harbor of St. Thomas. Bluebeard's Castle is centrally located in the most desirable part of the island with world class shopping minutes away. With only a short drive from some of the most popular beaches in the Caribbean where you can enjoy boating, scuba diving, snorkeling and windsurfing. The island itself offers a wonderful assortment of duty-free shopping, world-class restaurants (including the top-rated ROOM WITH A VIEW on location!), hot night spots, and a variety of local flavor to satisfy every taste. This resort features history, breathtaking views, and easy access to town. Beaches are literally minutes away so you can visit them all including easy ferry rides to St. John and the British Virgin Islands (Tortola and Virgin Gorda). You will see why owners at the resort are passionate about their units. It is this passion that will once again be the reason that Bluebeard's Castle will become a sought after destination resort. Many lucky RCI members will take advantage of this now! The resort is in the midst of a historic multi-million dollar remodel that will change all that you have heard. The proof is found in our regular maintenance reports as well as our news and picture sections. Also, schedules of on-resort dining are now posted in these reports.
