Hotel's Favourite
I stayed here last year but realized I forgot to review! We very much loved our stay. You can’t beat the convenience of having your own kitchen to be able to prepare meals if you want. It’s in close proximity to a grocery store, a delicious pizza place that delivers, and the ferry to get to St. John. It’s also close to several beautiful beaches. The balcony is huge and you have an amazing picturesque view of the ocean. The onsite restaurants are really good, and I wish we got to eat at Ocean 180 because it looked amazing. The condo itself was nice and spacious, clean, and plenty of room for my family of 4.
I want to warn people, they do not have generators. If you are planning on visiting USVI do your research about the issues they are having with WAPA and power outages. This is no fault of this resort and it happens all over the island right now. They are experiencing ongoing and frequent planned and some unannounced rolling blackouts. They give a list of feeder patterns, but the locals complain they are not always accurate and you can lose power more frequently than WAPA says. If you are okay with that then push through and book this beautiful resort. If not you may want to look into another vacation location all together, but it is the fault of WAPA, the island power provider and not Point Pleasant.

This was our second stay at Point Pleasant. Each time we rented through a different owner that offered their unit through the resort management. This was a large studio unit (E3) down at the water's edge which was a terrific location on the resort and was clean, but sparsely furnished, with no comfortable seating to speak of and a small table in a huge space which could have been utilized to hold a sitting area too. There was a large closet for hanging clothes and storing luggage. A few outdated things hung on the walls, but looked shabby and just tired. The kitchen, though small, had a fridge that worked well, a microwave that worked well, and a stove that DIDN'T work well. 3 out of 4 burners didn't work, and the one that did was the tiny back one that wouldn't lie flat. Try cooking breakfast with that stovetop... My question is, who is responsible for the repair/replacement of such an integral part of the unit? I understand the owner should buy a new one, but isn't it the management's job to let them know it isn't working? To continue to rent that unit without a working stove seems to be somewhat greedy. We weren't there long enough to complain and change units (if that were even possible, since we rented through the owner) and just would like to see the situation corrected for future guests. We understand we were paying for the view and the balcony that surrounds the unit on 2 sides, but the unit could certainly benefit from a few dollars being spent on interior furnishings and working kitchen appliances. Overall, the resort is back in order after the hurricanes and a great choice for St. Thomas if you want to stay on the East End.

Thank you so much for your feedback! We truly appreciate it! Each villa is individually owned and decorated upon the owner's discretion. We apologize if the villa seemed outdated. We will forward this feedback to the owner. If there is maintenance issue, our staff will gladly send a maintenance team to fix issues upon a maintenance request. Other than the maintenance issue, we are so happy you enjoyed your stay!

We stayed in Unit B27 which has a gorgeous top floor ocean view.. The grounds are beautiful. The staff is super attentive and friendly. They really do try and go out of their way to make guests happy.
We dined several times at the beach level restaurant and had great food. We are very picky vegans and our waitress was incredibly helpful in putting together satisfying meals for us (shout out to Hannah!).
Some negatives...Anyone staying here should understand that each unit is individually owned. The resort oversees the rental of these units when the owners are not there. We had issues with our air conditioner working intermittently. A repairman was sent in on the second day and fixed it. On top of that though, the power to the AC unit is on a timer which has a limit of 6 hours. I was told all condo units are setup this way. So, if you go to bed with the AC on, you are limited to 6 hours max of uninterrupted and air conditioned sleep. Once 6 hours is up, you need to manually reset the timer if you want to continue to have air conditioning. As a result of this, we never had more than 6 hours of uninterrupted sleep. We tried to sleep without the AC but it was just too warm and humid. Another issue with this electric timer is that it is a mechanical knob that makes a very audible “tick-tick-tick” noise the entire time it is on. The knob is right next to the bed, 2 feet from where you rest your head. I used earplugs to remedy this. I fully understand the electric conservation aspect of the timer but it is a bit annoying to not get a full nights sleep when you’re on vacation. There are way better ways to conserve electricity in a vacation home.
Our unit also had an issue with a broken bed. Wood blocks were piled up under the center of the bed frame to prevent the mattress from bowing in the center. Our first night, one of these wood blocks dislodged and made a frighteningly loud sound at 3am. Scared the heck out of us and again, woke us up.
The manager and front staff did everything in their power to remedy, and even compensate us a bit for the AC and bed issues. They could have easily blamed all of the problems on the unit owner’s lack of upkeep but instead they owned up to the problems described above. We did have a great stay overall and appreciate Point Pleasant trying their very best to keep us happy and comfortable during our stay.

I’ve stayed at point pleasant multiple times and usually attempt to get an ocean front room/villa, all of these have great views. Overall the resort is quite, private, and kept largely in a natural setting. The landscaping is well maintained, but not the overly “resorty” manicured and artificial stuff you see in Hawaii. You can sometimes pickup mango or some other fruit along the trails. There is a very small, no service beach at the end of a trail which is great if you pack a picnic and a few drinks, don’t litter! The nature trail ends up at a great gazebo perfect for scotch cigars and star gazing. This place is in the side of a mountain, so you need to have good mobility if you plan on walking around, lots of stairs. The numbering is confusing, but generally B’s and C’s are villas, E’s are smaller efficiencies like a hotel room with a kitchen. Never stayed in any of the other units up on the mountain, don’t know about those.
We stayed at B7 once, completely updated, new tile, new furniture, lots of storage, and sliding glass doors for entrance, a little sunny in the day, but shady in the afternoon. The high cabana ceilings are a great touch and make the room seem much larger.
Last time was C8 in the apartment looking building just above Shoreline Grill. This unit had a secure door that lead to a large wrap around balcony, then sliding glass doors all along the walls which were great for just opening and letting the breeze. This one had updated furniture, plenty of storage, a walk in shower with enough room to rinse off your snorkel/scuba gear. This unit is not on the top floor so you get shade from early afternoon on.
Can’t remember the other one we stated at, but all the rooms have been very good. I recommend starting every day coffee watching the sun rise over Tortola enjoying the nice breeze that comes off water bay. Shoreline has a great happy hour and reasonable prices, and there are a number of restaurants within walking distance at the adjacent resorts. If you want a more lively nightlife, M-Ville is right next door and a short walk.

Overall, the resort is nice, but it is best to have a car to go up and down the hill (~0.25 mile) since it is really steep. It is probably not an issue since most people rent a car when in USVI to explore islands and enjoy different beaches and trails. We stayed at 2 bedroom unit D22. Current owners did a great job renovating (we saw before and after pictures), and all 3 air conditioners worked well. We only had one power outage for about 15 mins during our stay.
The only issue we had is with check in/out. The resort asked to send our flight info in advance (and we did) so that our room is ready when we arrive. However, check in was about 1.5 hours late… The guy at the reception desk mentioned that we can check out later due to a late check in. However, this was not the case. During the checkout, the lady mentioned that late check out is not allowed. Check out is at 11 am. She said the best she can do is 11:30 am so that they have enough time to prepare the unit for next quests. I explained the situation and asked if they really need 4.5 hours to clean the room; she said no, but they prefer to have all rooms vacant since it is more convenient for them. We asked to talk to the manager, but the manager was not available to talk to us. I understand it is a minor thing, but we felt it is unfair to cut time from our stay because they did not clean the room on time and then refuse late checkout. We enjoyed our stay anyway and since we had 5 hours before our flight, we went to a nearby beautiful Lindquist beach (they have showers).

Thank you for your feedback. We truly appreciate it. We are so glad you enjoyed your stay. Our resort and islands has so much to offer in terms of relaxations and activities to keep you busy. We are so sorry about the miscommunication during your check in/check out process. Since these are actual villas with many furnishings, cleaning them takes a bit longer than cleaning a regular room. If we were late in the check in process it was only due to us making sure the room was spotless for your stay but we still deeply apologize. The hotel staff can only grant a late check out if there isn't a reservations arriving after your departure. That is why we recommend always asking the day of departure because we have tend to get last minute reservations that can change the answer to a late departure. Once again we are truly sorry for the miscommunication. We hope to see you again soon.

I just returned from our stay at Point Pleasant for a family reunion. I would give this resort 4 stars, however, the unit 3 stars. We were greeted with rum lemonade and friendly staff! When we were ready to check in (at 4pm) our room was still not ready (a little over 1 hour late), but we took advantage of the time and enjoyed the view while sipping on our rum at the guest lobby area. We stayed in Unit D26. The view from the balcony was beautiful! The room was a bit dated (although the kitchen looked pretty new). I will say that other family that we were traveling with were staying at much nicer units so I know they are in there, we just happened to not get one. Also, while some units have coolers (everyone in our group apparently) our unit did not and when I asked about a cooler in the lobby I was told it would be $10/day for a mini cooler (you are better off buying one at the grocery store). The gym is now open, and had everything I needed to get a decent workout in. We did not eat at the restaurants on the property, although others in our group did. Half the group said Mirador's food was delicious, the other half just said it was ok...though agreed upon that it was a bit expensive. Also, mosquito repellant is a must!!! I would have to say the best part of the trip were the views and the friendly staff!

This place was amazing.
This section of the island has the best views on the island that has access to beaches. And Point Pleasant has the best the best views for the best prices of all the resorts on this section of the island. The resort has 3 pools; an incredible bar/grill, Shoreline Grill, which has good food a great happy hour, is right in the water and provides service direct to the lower pool (note we did not eat at the other restaurant on property, Mirador, but it looked beautiful). A private beach on Sugar bay, with turquoise water which is very small but enough room for apx 6 people to swim and lounge (during lower tides). The walking paths throughout the entire resort are so beautiful, natural stairs carved into the mountain side with gorgeous tropical plants (and some iguana siting's) along the entire path and intimately lit at night. And the resort is central to everything. Nothing was more than 20 minutes away. I highly recommend renting a car. Not only is it a good value (taxis are expensive); and there are lots of places to go that you would want the flexibility of a car; but it is so much fun to drive on the island, with lots of steep winding mountain roads with incredible views.
If you are the type of traveler that wants to hang at the hotel your entire vacation this may not be the right place for you. But if you are looking to be out an about and explore what St Thomas and the surrounding area has to offer then I can't think of a better place.

First let me say that the staff here were always pleasant and helpful. The grounds and pool were kept clean and in good repair. One pool and the spa were closed for renovations while we were there. Point Pleasant is only 10 minutes from Red Hook, where you will find a fantastic grocery store (Moe’s Fresh Market) and a great dive shop (Red Hood Dive Shop). And a short 5 min walk along the water from the Shoreline Bar & Grill will take you to Jimmy Buffets Margaritaville Bar & Restaurant.
We stayed in B9 which is the top floor of Villa 12. The location of the Villa was great as you were close to the pool and the Shoreline Bar & Grill. It also had fantastic views and nice outdoor furniture. The condo was clean and had no smell (very important).
But, this condo is overdue for a complete renovation. The furniture is dated, faded and worn. The decorations are so drab, dead coral and driftwood everywhere. The dining table is a knee knocker, and the plastic covered chair cushions stick to your bare skin. Better lighting is needed. The bed is the worst I have ever slept in. It is so soft and you can see that it is “sunk” in the middle. The curtains were torn at the top in places. The glass doors need to be replaced because when the wind would blow and we had them closed, the air coming under the door would blow the curtains out and the rain water just sits in the track inside of the condo (yuck). The bathroom cabinet toe space is so low you had to be careful not to stub you toes when using the mirror and sink. There is not room for more than one person in the kitchen. The door to the refrigerator is rusted (see photo). They take up valuable counter space with a tray trying to sell snacks, pop & wine. There is not a toaster, but they have a toaster oven. It took 10 min to toast my morning bread for breakfast. There were only 2 small plates and one cereal bowl (Corelle brand) there were microwave safe. The remaining dinner ware was plastic and indicated not for use in a microwave. That made it challenging when trying to make a meal.
We would stay at Point Pleasant again, just not in B9. I know these units are independently owned, so I would hope that some of the other units would be better shape than this one.

Thank you so much for your feedback! It is truly appreciated! We are so pleased to hear you enjoyed our lovely staff! Our staff is trained to be extremely pleasant and accommodating to all guests! We deeply apologize for the villa not being up to our gold star standard. Each villa is individually owned and decorated upon the owner's discretion. Sometimes the owner's designing taste can be very specific but we definitely will forward your feedback to the owner so he can make the needed changes! I definitely suggest booking directly through our website you can choose one of our many updated villas. We hope to see you again in the near future!

This was our first time in the V.I. We stayed here (D 28) for 5 days and were so sad to leave yesterday :(
It is a beautiful unit with phenomenal views! Everything was spotless and a great crosswind so wasn’t necessary to use air con. The resort itself is low-key, not fancy and in a great location. The hills/steps are great for a workout but you can take the golf-cart if you can’t handle the hills/steps. The casual ‘Shoreline’ has a simple menu serving great food and friendly staff. Sugar Beach is a tiny secluded beach- a hidden gem!
We didn’t have a car so jumping on the ‘country bus’ from the main road was easy! The property is within 5 mins walk of Coki Point Beach/ Margaritaville and 5 mins on the bus to Red Hook, ferry , Sapphire Beach and Linqvist Beach. Can’t wait to stay there again !!

Thank you so much for your feedback! We are so happy to hear you enjoyed your first trip to the island with us. We are so glad you took advantage of our private beach. It is not the biggest beach but very relaxing. We have many hidden gems on the resort like our beach, including our nature trails and gazebo. We hope you return to the island and Point Pleasant again in the near future.

I came here for my honeymoon last week. We had an oceanfront room and the tub was disgusting. It had blue drink marks all over the tub. For transportation across the resort we had to travel on a shuttle bus provided by the hotel. The hotel is on a hill and the rooms are even higher so goodluck trying to get down on your own without a shuttle because those services end by 6 pm. I tried to get towels and extra sheets and I had to call them multiple times for them to deliver it. Apparently all towels were in the washer and dryer and did not have enough to accommodate.
The hotel offers to call taxi services for you which you will pay $10-20 per person per 1 way trip and they will also wait for other passengers and have you wait as well. The electricity and water went out for hours for 2 days. On the day of my flight I woke up to no water and electricity. When you call the front desk they are of no help and eventhough I asked when it would be back or if they can offer something so that I can brush my teeth atleast. The front desk woman proceeds to tell me she also left her house this morning without any water.
The smell of seaweed from margaritaville is unbearable. The food was fine at shoreline grill which is one of 2 restaurants they have. Ofcourse it is also nyc prices. Overall I would not recommend this resort because it is hard to get out of the place after 6 pm, the service, electricity/water random outages.

Thank you for the feedback. We do apologize about the tub as that is not our standard. If known we would have sent down housekeeping to help rectify that issue. In terms of the towels. Since there were only 2 occupying the room we were unable to fulfil your order of 6 towel sets every single time but we did deliver towels when you did ask. There was an unplanned power outage by the power authority that caused a power outage for more than half of the island. When the electricity goes out, the water also goes out as water relies on an electric pump to deliver water to the lines. That outage was out of our control. We did offer and delivered bottles of water to you since we had no control over the outages. The taxi prices and operations are set by the taxi commission and is out of our control, the same way establishments in the states cannot control the prices and operations of Uber/taxi rates. Due to the pandemic we have shortened our hours to 6pm and also provide a list of taxis so guests can easily get transportation after the lobby closes. We hope you give us a second chance and book directly next time so you can choose the exact villa you are in.
