Don't stay here if you like impersonal chain-type accommodation. This is a unique place with a fascinating history. The hosts, Ann and John, clearly enjoy making every guest's stay as comfortable and rewarding as possible. They share fascinationg local information to make guests' visits a truly tailor-made experience. Merthyr is an amwzing place to explore. The food is good and...

We had a family get-together to watch rugby in Cardiff - John & Ann could not have been more welcoming & hospitable. The B&B is close to a regular train service into Cardiff & the accommodation was spotless with very comfy beds. The breakfast was great as well. I look forward to a return visit.

I spent two night at Mount Pleasant combining business trips into Cardiff with trout fishing on the Taff. The room and breakfast were fantastic and John and Ann were very welcoming, excellent company and very knowledgable about the history of The Valleys and most importantly, fishing on the Taff! Views from the terrace across the valley were wonderful. Highly recommended...

There's a lovely terrace with hot tub and other spa facilities whilst looking at the view, and the rooms are big and spacious. The staff are extremely friendly, and you get a great hearty breakfast. There's a lock up for bikes etc and...

The bed was so comfortable and the breakfast was delicious. The small hotel is run by family and we were very well looked after. My daughter lives in the...

My partner and I stayed here for two nights last week in order to go walking in the Brecon Beacons on our way down to Cornwall for a holiday. On all the sites I viewed the Mount Pleasant Inn leapt out at me on account of its large number of five-star reviews and our short break there more than lived...

We spent three nights here visiting relatives in South Wales. The couple running the hotel were very helpful and friendly, suggesting some nice places for us to visit. The rooms were very large and very clean with comfortable beds. Good showers, toiletries provided, lovely big white soft towels. It was a pub but they are now running it as a...
