Courtyard Nassau Downtown/Junkanoo Beach is often commended for its prime location near the beach, and guests frequently celebrate the hotel's cleanliness and scenic ocean views. However, some guests have expressed a need for updates, particularly regarding certain amenities and room conditions. The staff's friendliness is widely acknowledged, despite occasional notes on service inefficiency. While some visitors feel the hotel doesn't provide strong value due to high prices, others appreciate the reasonable options available. The atmosphere receives mixed reviews, with modern spaces getting praise amidst some less vibrant areas.

Had to book this hotel because my first choice wasn’t available. Clyde and his staff at the Marriott Courtyard were so helpful, whether it was hailing a cab or trying to find my luggage, which Delta airlines lost! The rooms are tidied up daily, the adult pool was close enough to Junkanoo Beach to get the vibe but not be overwhelmed and the hotel is within walking distance of Arawak Cay and downtown Nassau. A couple notes: bring cash for the cabs, and prepare to wait for a bit if you get to the hotel early upon arriving. The front desk will hold your bags until the room is ready. Also — get the French toast for breakfast and a Bahama Mama from the bar for lunch!

We weren’t sure what to expect based on reviews. I wanted to write this review so readers have a reasonable idea of what to expect. After a 20 minute taxi ride (confirm the fare with your driver beforehand, should be $36 for 2 pax w 2 bags) we arrived and our check in was warm and welcoming. You could tell the lobby area was in the process of being renovated. Walking down the corridor to the elevator was a different story, the walls are in desperate need of paint & repairs and the carpet needs replacement. However, we understand that a renovation is done in phases, with priority placed on rooms and common areas first. Our room was very clean and redone, except for the tub which needs refinishing. Comfortable bed and quiet. There are only Juliet balconies at the hotel (and seemingly every hotel in Nassau) so we relaxed by the pool in the covered patio area which was lovely. If you’re expecting a resort pool, don’t. The pools are basic and the furniture is new and clean. If you want a resort pool, you can pay $110 pp to use the Margaritaville pool. Junkanoo beach is not a white sand instagram Caribbean beach, it’s for cruise visitors and locals, so there’s trash, kiosk restaurants and bars, vendors and loud music blaring.
The food at the hotel was outstanding- very large portions and the bar is fully stocked. Be aware the food takes quite a while to prepare (every restaurant we went to also took a long time).
The very best part of the hotel was Clyde, the GM, and his fantastic team of employees. Everyone was so friendly and polite with huge smiles and hellos. Clyde is in the lobby all day long greeting guests and asking how they’re enjoying their stay. He also has great restaurant tips (Cricket Club).
In summary, the hotel is not a luxurious resort. It’s a new property for Marriott and they are in the process of bringing it up to the level Marriott customers are used to. The staff is outstanding, the food and service excellent, location convenient and the price is in line for a tourist area.

Pros- great location, next to beach, nice views. Staff good, rooms clean.
Cons- could be updated a lot.
Would be nice to-
1. Offer a free complimentary breakfast, not near any breakfast place, the paid option here costs a ton.
2. Have a shuttle from the airport for guests.

It’s ok experience, front desk staff was ok , the young man at the front was very friendly and helpful with guests. So far , it’s not the a great hotel to me but it’s ok to stay for vacation. The room service needed to be a bit more cleaner since they were kinda lazy to give water inside each room everyday for guests

The Courtyard by Marriott is in the process of being 'renovated' but the hotel is still lacking...we found several roaches in our room, plus the water in the shower was very rusty when you first turn it on. The ventilation is poor, especially if you pass through the dining area, it smells like old burnt grease. I would not recommend this hotel and will not stay here again.

This is the most dodgy Marriott hotel I have ever stayed at in my life. I can’t believe this facility is even associated with Marriott for that matter. Where do I even begin? First of all, upon arrival, there is this horrible feeling that comes over you, as if you’ve walked onto a scene from a horror movie. Nevermind the construction; that was the least of my worries. The lobby is a complete facade and probably the only nice area of the entire property. Once you enter the rickety elevator and take it up to your room, it’s game over. The hallways are musty with walls that have painted over one time too many. There are holes that have been filled with putty and again, painted over. It reeks of mold and my grandma’s basement. The rooms are less than mediocre, with chipped counters and cracked tiles. The balcony is so small, unless you weight 20 pounds, don’t even think about walking out on it. The pool was green, the towels were dingy, and the service was terrible, for staff was there for show because they hardly had any desire to work (minus one bubbly girl at the bar who seemed to be the only one who actually smiled). The surrounding area was GHETTO. Junkanoo beach, which was across the street from the hotel, should be renamed “Junk for you” beach, as it was full of garbage, loiterers, and trash cans that were beyond full. I later found out that locals don’t come here because of how filthy it is. You’ll only find tourists in the water here because they don’t know any better. Cruise ships line the shore, making it unappealing to take a dip in the water with their unending pollution and loud engines. Do not, I repeat, do NOT stay here. Pay a little more and go to Baha Mar. That hotel will not disappoint. We ended up hanging out as guests as the Baha Mar and coming back to this dump just to sleep. Whoever gave this hotel (more like MOTEL) 5 stars must have been smoking something very serious; either that, or they’ve never been to a 5 star hotel before. If I could give this place negative stars, especially for what they’re charging, I would.

We booked 2 double rooms with ocean view and when we arrived at the Marriott they were “overbooked” and gave us a King size room and finally found us a double room. Neither were ocean view. The same price was charged.

Let’s move on to the rooms. Old. Cleaned but you can’t clean old and yucky.

Breakfast. Prepare to wait in a long line for the “free” breakfast that you paid for. My husband and son never got their meal. We got ours and it was good.

I would recommend skipping Nassau entirely in your journey if you can. But definitely skip this Marriott. Junkanoo beach is full of junk and rats….🐀

Room was clean and shower was hot. Keeping in mind the age of the property and the fact that it is in one of the most in demand destinations in the region I think it is still value for the money. Bring your own water bottles for the rooms because $4 USD per 16oz bottle at the shop in the lobby is no joke. The staff were pleasant and the free drink is always appreciated, however I did not take them up on it.

Where to start.. They e-mailed me saying they were canceling my suite night upgrade that had already been approved, no explanation or anything just "We have cancelled your request for a suite night upgrade. This way you can hold on to your suite night upgrade and use it at another property". Thanks Laketra that certificate expired !
Checking in was a mess we notified the hotel we were arriving early because of a flight change over the phone we were told this would be fine, made everyone wat until 3 or 4 pm when magically all the rooms were ready at once, way to go Perez. Asked about ate check out, only requested an hour and a half as a titanium elite and was told no in a very rude fashion. I understand its a best efforts/ availability basis but no effort was taken. Staff was rude and disinterested in the smallest requests till you busted out the wallet
Kimberley, Laketra, Patrice, Kendea, Bonnie, Deniqua and Perez Shame on all of you ! Terrible experience don’t waste your money time points or certificates at this Dump!

The hotel has been/is being updated. Friendly service and a free drink for each guest is a nice touch. The hotel needs to provide safe drinking water to all guests rather than expecting us to purchase water. Nearly all hotels in Nassau, even those much less expensive, at least provides free water to refill water bottles. Food at the bistro is good but menu is limited.

We stayed there for 9 days in April, 2022. We asked about chairs for the beach, and the very nice lady at the front desk actually went into a room behind the desk and brought out two camp/tailgate chairs that we could use for free. I assume they had been left in a room. We never felt unsafe, did not experience any crime personally, and would stay there again.
