I had a truly wonderful time at Sandyport Beach Resort. From the moment I arrived, Pam at the front desk made me feel incredibly welcome, setting the tone for a fantastic stay. Taj provided an excellent orientation to the property and even dropped me off at my room, ensuring a smooth start.
The breakfast restaurant was great, with attentive staff providing excellent service, while the team at the Conch Shack brought an extra dose of fun to the experience. Every staff member I encountered was friendly, helpful, and dedicated to making guests feel at home.
The rooms are clean, tastefully decorated, and well-equipped, with a handy kitchenette featuring a fridge and microwave. My room opened directly onto the beautiful lagoon beach, offering the perfect mix of sun, shade, loungers, and hammocks. Strolling along the beach each day was an absolute delight, with the shallow, crystal-clear water adding to the serene atmosphere.
As a solo female traveler, I felt completely safe both at the resort and while walking to the marina village next door, even at night. The selection of restaurants for dine-in and takeaway just steps away was incredibly convenient.
I can’t wait to return to this lovely, welcoming retreat!

The resort is quiet and relaxing and filled with kind friendly staff. We had the pleasure of staying on the lagoon beach side, which was like having our own private oasis. We spent time at the Conch Shack beach bar daily and Boscom the Bartender was friendly, attentive, and a true mixologist making everything fresh and delicious! Mojitos and margaritas, the best we’ve ever had! He makes you feel at home… The Conch experience with Christine “the legend” was truly a unique treat and the best conch salad you can get on the island ! She harvests it before your eyes and makes the salad an experience from start to finish! Miss Sarah, Concierge couldn’t have been more helpful, sweet and on the money about every recommendation she gave us. Our Island experience was truly wonderful thank you, Sandy Port, we will be back.

Sandyport resort is good but has so much more untapped potential to be great. The resort is fairly low key in a lovely location away from the busy downtown area and huge crowded hotels , which is why we booked it. The beach and lagoon on the doorstep are lovely. Lots of sea life to observe. The pool is a bonus with water slides for children but needs more sun beds around the pool and resort .Maybe a play area for the children and an adults only pool would be a worthwhile investment? The beach needs to be cleaned and the sun beds and tables washed down daily. Only saw them brushed a couple of times. The beach bar shack was well served by the lovely, friendly barman Bascom who made great cocktails and is an asset to the hotel. However, it had its limitations as it closed around 6 pm and was poorly stocked most of the time despite requests by many guests for a wider variety of drinks. ( Let the bar man stock, organise and run the bar his way …. He’s great!) There was nowhere else in the resort after 6pm or on rainy days to gather for drinks. Most guests went to other venues to spend their money when it closed, so the hotel is missing out on trade. Also, there is no onsite restaurant either ( the bar did some snacks only ) and some guests told us that they had breakfast on site which was not obvious as we were not told it was available by the hotel staff. A good restaurant in the resort would be an asset and a hub as most guests went to the local restaurants to spend their money. Our room was lovely, comfortable and newly refurbished and decorated. It was kept very clean and towels and water replenished daily. But there was no info in the room about the hotel facilities or local amenities and attractions etc. We found our info from other guests. Our A / Con stopped working after two days and although a member of staff inspected it three times, it was never fixed during our stay despite numerous requests.Thank goodness for the ceiling fan ! Overall, a lovely quiet resort which suited us but it has so much more potential to be great whilst retaining its old school charm and individuality . Come on Sandyport, you could be a standout resort.

We deliberately chose the best accommodation category here, a suite with direct access to the lagoon beach. For comparison sake , this cost us more per day than a room at The Reef Atlantis , which we stayed in the previous week. When comparing the two we were hugely disappointed. On the surface the suite looked perfect, a large light and airy living room with a separate large bedroom. However it was very much style over substance. A towel rail fell off the wall the minute I tried to use it, the water pressure in the shower was dreadful and we had to remake the bed every day because of the poor standard of bed linen. In a similar vein, the lagoon beach appeared very inviting, its shallow water looked ideal for young children to safely play. . However the water was much more murky then appears in some of the promotional photos and walking around the Marina there were distinct sewage smells coming from the lagoon. So much so that we didn’t go in to the lagoon after that and I certainly wouldn’t have let a child of mine play in it. Our disappointment continued in the restaurant. My day one breakfast omelette was so badly made, overcooked and rubbery. On day two I ordered eggs benedict which arrived smothered in mustard sauce! On reflection I should have sent it back, but at the time this felt churlish. We didn’t eat in the restaurant after that. Our hearts went out to the young lady serving breakfast, who was continually apologizing for the slow service, but management seemed to have left her all on her own! Our biggest single issue though was our check out experience. We had an 8.15pm flight and with check out at 11am asked what facilities were available for guests to shower, get changed etc.. We were astonished to be told there was nothing. We have never had a beach holiday where the hotel doesn’t offer guests something along these lines so that we could properly enjoy the day and then prepare for our flight. What’s more and was particularly galling was that the receptionist displayed dreadful customer service skills, no empathy whatsoever. I wanted to end this review on a couple of positive notes, firstly the guys at da Conch Shack were friendly and efficient. Our absolute star though was Thaj, he demonstrated the customer engagement skills so desperately lacking in the receptionists. They could certainly learn a lot from him. Perhaps the one star rating is harsh, but our check out experience was so poor it cast a pall over the whole holiday.

Nearing the end of our week here at this resort and if it weren’t for an issue with bugs on couple occasions, I would have rated the resort more favorable. The location of the property is in a good area and there are lots of good (and a couple) of great dining options within walking distance. Bus10 is a convenient and inexpensive way to get downtown. Cab rides are very expensive and the grocery store isn’t all that close but you can walk there. Be prepared to spend a lot of money on the island! Multiple your estimated costs by 2 when planning your trip! We faced a beautiful canal. It was a nice place to lounge and get sun. The food and drinks at the resort were really good.
The room attendant did a great job of cleaning up but the suite needs a refresh. There are Blinds that do not open easily, an A/C unit that makes very strange and loud noises, toilet that clogged couple times, closet doors off the tracks, and a minor gap at door/window opening that caused ants to visit after a raining.
There was another bug incident that occurred during the week but the manager and staff were helpful in preventing recurrence and offered a room change which I appreciated but continued in our suite. The remaining days Im happy to report that I did not have any further issues. While I wish I didn’t have any issues during the stay, in my opinion, it’s a positive when a resort is quick to address an issue and willing to work with you on the matter.
My family was happy with this resort overall and enjoyed the stay. I would opt for a newer resort when I return to Nassau island.

We just returned from a week in the Bahamas. While the first part of the week was at a larger resort, we spent 3 nights at Sandyport Beach Resort and wish we had stayed longer! We specifically looked for a place that was family-friendly, but was smaller and based on New Providence Island so our family could experience Nassau and all that it had to offer. From pre-arrival notifications to luggage storage at early arrival to check in, we could not have asked for more. The staff is absolutely lovely and helpful. Our room opened right onto the beach and was close to the pool. The room itself was large and beautifully decorated. It had a spacious bathroom with a tub and a separate shower, a mini fridge and coffee pot, bottles of water daily, and a smattering of glasses and mugs. We loved spending time at the pool and eating/drinking at Da Conch Shack there. (Seriously, the mojitos were some of the best I've ever had and the staff was fabulous.) I highly recommend grabbing some conch fritters there! Our kids immediately made friends on the slides and loved snorkeling in the water outside the room. If you want a great room, a bit of peace and quiet, and fantastic and accommodating staff, we cannot recommend Sandyport Beach Resort enough! We cannot wait to come back and stay there again. Thank you for making us feel welcome and cared for! Keep up the fantastic job, Sandyport!

We rented a two bedroom/two and a half bathroom villa at Sandyport the third week in October. For our three night stay our final cost was $1543 which included room rate, maid gratuity, resort fees and all the taxes.
Our villa was dated but very clean. Having a full kitchen was great, there was even an additional microwave and coffee pot in the second bedroom. Both bedrooms had safes and the master bedroom had a nice walk in closet. The bathroom in the second bedroom was very small, so the half bath came in handy. There was a small balcony with a table and chairs that overlooked the canal.
This resort sits on a canal which had some loungers and a few umbrellas where you could wade into the water. It’s definitely not for swimming but great for little kids to play in. The beach was a little disappointing. The water was a little rough with quite a bit of seaweed (not the resorts fault). There are some loungers with umbrellas and Blue Sail restaurant is right there for drinks. We preferred walking over to the Poop Deck restaurant (10 minute walk) and using their beach. It was calmer with no seaweed and the restaurant served breakfast, lunch and cocktails on the beach. You could also rent beach chairs and umbrellas from them. My only advice is to be very careful crossing the busy road to get there. Probably wouldn’t walk there with small children.
We never used the pools. The slides weren’t working and the pool water didn’t look very clean. There are laundry facilities to use and a couple of soda/water/snack machines in there also.
There are a few restaurants within walking distance in the Sandyport complex. Twisted Lime had the best food (surprisingly many gluten free options) but it took 1.5 hours to get our entrees on a Saturday night. Blue Sail was good with amazing water views but if you have mobility issues, it is a challenge walking up their stairs from Sandyport’s walking path. Skip Spritz restaurant all together. Food was fair and we watched our server walk down the street to smoke and hang with his friends for 15 minutes while we were waiting for our check. The best place by far was Bon Vivants cafe and cocktails. We were there twice a day, everyday. Amazing coffee, craft cocktails, lite bites and cool looking surroundings. Most of the staff were great too.
In my opinion, Sandyport is an affordable option if your family needs the space a villa offers, and you want to save a few bucks by cooking your own meals. The staff were all pleasant and accommodating.

Sandyport Resort offers a pleasant stay with friendly staff and well-maintained grounds. However, the pool and beach areas are underwhelming. The rooms, unfortunately, suffer from a musty odor and limited space. The dining experience at Blue Sail Restaurant was disappointing, with poor service and incorrect orders. The breakfast location was also frustrating, with slow service and a lack of awareness of available items. While the resort has potential, it needs to address these issues to provide a more satisfying experience for guests.

I had a wonderful time at Sandyport Beach Resort! It was a great mini vacation, despite being in an older room this year - which was quite small and could use an update. It is a beautiful place and the staff was friendly and welcoming. It has some nice amenities and is very convenient to restaurants which offer breakfast, lunch and dinner.
I received a wonderful massage from Sheareese while I was visiting. She was so kind and receptive to my needs. It was one of the best massages I have ever had. In the interest of full disclosure, I am a Licensed Massage Therapist (in 2006) and was teaching massage students until mid 2020 when I stopped because of Covid. This was my second visit to Sandyport, but I had no idea that you had a Massage Therapist on the premises until I inquired at the front desk. I was informed that there is a flyer on the dresser in the lobby which I did not see. I was there with five other couples and no one else was aware of the massage services offered at the resort either. In fact, I told my friends and at least four other people received a massage as well. Everyone was happy with their experience! I suggested putting it on the desk at reception and/or having a card in each room so that visitors are aware of the on-site service. When I suggested that, I was told that the owner "does not want clutter on the counter" and that it is listed in the brochure that is given to each guest at check in. The pamphlet has a lot of information and some people don't read it or skim it quickly and don't notice the mention of massage services at the very bottom.

What a great location. Close to the airport (taxi is still 20 for first two people and add on $ for extra and bags....) If you are looking to be waited on hand and foot this is not a 'resort' for you, check out Baha Mar up the road. But if you are looking for a calm relaxing vacation with amazing views, tons of marine wildlife, and great food and drink within walking distance of your room, SBR is it. The staff is so kind and really go out of their way to make your experience a unique one. We were only there for 4 full days and 1.5 of them were raining but that did not make a difference. We had a few little issues (dead batteries in remote and wobbly balcony table) that were taken care of within minutes of calling. We did lose power for a few minutes during the storm, but the resort was not phased other than the landscape staff immediately cleaning the seaweed off the beach. Da' Conch's jerk chicken panini is prob the most delish beach side sandwich I've ever had two days in a row. And being there for the 'Konch Show' is an ENTIRE experience in itself. Mi & B's Sunday Brunch was amazing. We frequented Bon Vivant's often for coffee, tea, coconut water, live music, and the strongest drinks I've ever had often. Such a great place, having Ralph as a server each time made it all more the merrier. We stayed on the Lagoon side most often since it was super windy over at the main beach (due to the weather we experienced which was very unlikely for the time of year) but we did notice that if you had clouds on the lagoon, there weren't any on the beach, and if there were clouds at Baha Mar then there weren't any at Sandyport. We also enjoyed breakfast at the News Cafe and sat on the Spritz waterfront deck. Spritz' pasta is a must... and very lively on the weekends. We ate dinner here twice and more than once saw the two turtles and barracuda that hang out in that area. We walked to Chippy's Convenience store at least twice a day. So convenient for water, room snacks, forgotten deodorant, and beers for $4, where the same thing is $7 at SBR and then $12 at Baha Mar. We did hop on the local #10 bus (there are multiple of them going both directions from 6am - 6pm) and went to Baha Mar for our rainy day. Since you can't use their beach/pool amenities it wasn't all that amazing for us especially after a $20 pina colada but if you gamble I imagine that would be a perfect rainy day, or if you have kids they have an arcade. Oddly enough the casino doesn't accept Bahamian dollars. Lastly, the gem of the trip was Shearese with Island Sensations Massage. We opted for inside our room since the no-see-ums were pesky after the storm but easily the most amazing deep tissue I've ever had. Can't wait to go back and experience it in the gazebo over the ocean. Ohhhh and snagging the bed loungers next to Blue Sail for SBR guests only was a big highlight!

No, only a very small dining area for breakfast, at additional cost, but next to a small shopping area with several restaurant within walking distance.
I loved the swimming in the ocean (fantastic turquoise blue color and when i was there calm or calm enough for swimming). You can also swim over to another beach (it’s by another property which I don’t know and which is farther away, not on same stretch as Sandyport, ie no disturbance or people from the other place). I also loved swimming in the lagoon (which I didn’t expect, was lovely, always completely calm)
