My spouse and I were only staying in Nassau for two days so we figured this $100 hotel should suffice and wouldn't be that bad since we didn't really plan on being in the room. The sign for the MOTEL (that's what it looks like) says Land & Shark resort. The room looked ok when we walked in we didn't have high expectations so we accepted it. The problem was the 2 pillows which I swear they had since 1985 with the ripped pillowcases. There's no phone in the room. The sheets had brown stains on them but luckily I had brought my own blanket. The volume on the TV didn't work, but more importantly there was no water!!!!!! It literally dripped out the faucet and shower head. The toilet wouldn't flush at all! We complained to the front desk and apparently they can turn the pressure up but I suppose the sorry owner tells them not to until someone complains.

The second night around 2 am a man came and knocked on the door and I'm going to assume he had the wrong room because he stood there for a while(i looked through the peephole). Of course we didn't answer but it's still nerve wrecking. Every morning there were about 10-15 kids out near the pool so I'm assuming it's a youth center as well. They were respectful and quiet it just surprised me to see so many children at 7/8 am in the pool. While we sat by the front desk DAILY there was about 5/6 different people to ask for towels and never got them. They only give you 2 of each when you check in. We brought our own towels and washcloths so that didn't affect us.

The morning we were to check out, there was absolutely NO water even when the front desk turned up the water nothing came out. We were livid !! The front desk worked on it for about an hour and still nothing. We had just came back from the beach and needed to catch a flight so you can imagine how upset we were becoming. There was no maintenance personnel on duty so the desk clerk was clueless. We had to use a gallon of water that we bought from the grocery store.

The pros was the front desk and their customer service which was awesome especially Ms Wallace. We were walking walking distance from cable beach, the grocery store, and a couple of fast food restaurants. Area is quiet but you're pretty far from the straw market and fish market but you can catch the bus for $1.25. Everyone in the Nassau was friendly!!

The cons was the entire hotel. The owner needs to invest in the property instead of dealing with complaints and having to refund people. We did get our money back from both nights but not through the hotel. I honestly wouldn't return to Nassau unless it was a cruise you don't get the bang for your buck there EVERYTHING is expensive and yet seems cheap, except that $1.25 bus. I wouldn't recommend at all just pay a little extra for elsewhere.

This place don't need to be called a resort! This place is so far from a resort! This place make motel look like mansion. The floor tile was coming up in the bathroom. The bedroom linen looked so discolored I wouldn't lay on it I laid on my clothes first. The place had no hot water to take a bath nor no ice machine to cool you off. We walked a few blocks down and there is a grocery store which was a good thing. You can't even tell the difference between the customers or the staff. Spider webs are very where on their property so if you want to go to a low class motel this is the one to come to or to run from. The choice is yours.

It boggles my mind how this place could even call itself a resort. The rooms are for a lack of a better word STINK. The beds smell moldy, The Bedroom door couldn't open all the way making it extremely difficult to get our luggage in, the bathroom door handle didn't work so instead of fixing it the Hotel decided to stuff the hole where the door will click into so that you won't get locked in, The room and surroundings are NOTHING like what the website advertises and to top everything else off the room was overrun with cockroaches. I am sorry but I refuse to spend money to stay at a place that I wouldn't even put my dog.

We read terrible things about this place, so I feel that I must explain and defend this place a bit.
We (couple, 30isch) were on vacation around Florida and on a tight budget. The US was alread horrible expensive and I wanted to see Nassau for 2-3 days and make a couple of dives.
So looking at flight/hotel deals on the Internet you quickly realize: there is coco plum, then there is a huge price gap and then there is the rest. Looking at the price you ask yourself: what's the catch? Then you read reviews and notice: "ok, THATS the catch!".
But after staying there for 3 nights we both agreed: "It's aight."
Yes: its totally basic. But you can stay there.
It was clean enough. We had no cockroaches or whatsoever, the bed was ok, you have a tv and it was quiet.
The most annoying downside was, that it was away from any major hotspots or beaches. So you have to always take a taxi or the bus. (And every cab ride in Nassau: 25$...regardless where you go)

But diving schools pick you up at the hotel anyway...so it was ok for us.

Conclusion: really nothing special, but not as horrible as in some reviews.

This was without a doubt the worst experience we ever had with a hotel. We flew into Nassau on schedule and took a taxi to this location. The driver told us that he would not stay there, but drove us anyways as we had reservations. Turns out that having a reservation (paid) means nothing to the people at this hotel. They had overbooked the place and at least a dozen people were being turned away (Dec 26th) despite having prepaid for a room. The people in the office didn't seem to care and just offered to get people taxis (at our own expense) so that we could look for a room elsewhere.

They continually tried blaming booking agent sites such as Expedia, but I spoke with a couple people who booked their rooms by phoning the hotel itself. Apparently they've done this before and will do it again. Stay away from the Coco Plum - vacations shouldn't be this stressful!

I stayed at Coco Plum resort from May 23-25, 2014 for the IAAF games. I chose this resort because of its affordable room rates and location. The room is average. No frills. Just a small TV, bathroom and the A/C is self controlled. There is no telephones in the rooms. I paid $85 per night, the idea of just having somewhere to sleep and shower was just about what I wanted. The staff are very friendly and are great at recommending places to visit. There is a small restaurant on site, but for some reason I never saw it opened. Local calls are free and can be placed at the Front desk. The hotel is approximately 20minutes from the airport. If you are looking for frills and luxury this place is not for you. The Bahamas is very beautiful. If you visit make sure you go and get the conch chowder from goldies Restaurant. Public transportation is easy and inexpensive. Their dollar is one to one with the US currency, so it is easy to spend both US and Bahamiam dollars. You will have a wonderful time visiting the Bahamas!

You can't fine this at night. It is more for locals, it seems that lady's of the night use this place. The1st room I was in the bed did not look as if it had been changed and water was coming from the ceiling which was coming from the bathroom up stairs. Everyone that I met was very disappointed with there rooms. There was no hot water to shower. complaining to the manager did not help. I read the complaints on this sight and thought they had improved. If you consider trying coco plum, run, run, run, away from this place.

Our booking didn't go througt so we hade no reservation when we got there. The room did not look anything like the picture from the internet and it was shabby, warned out and dirty. We found hair in the sink, the bathtub and on the floor. The shower leaked water inside the wall. There were no channels on the tv. The air-conditioning was at least working. The restaurant wasn't there any longer so you couldn't got any food or drink. The staff didn't seem to care about us or the hotel. And it wasn't even called coco plum no more, its now called land shark, hotel and dive resort.

This place on a scale of 1-10 is a .5, not even a 1. PLEASE do NOT book this place for SEVERAL reasons; the rooms are not up to par. The water pressure in the shower is very, very low to where you have to stand directly under the shower to rinse off. There's mold and mildew on the roof in the shower. The water in the shower doesn't drain out. That flat screen TV they advertise on the site is a 17" screen that is approximately 40ft away from the bed and only displays 6 channels, none being premium channels. You cannot hear the TV when the a/c is on. The a/c is a wall unit that is not sealed into the wall completely leaving room for critters to come into the room from the outside. Same goes for the door which sits approximately 2" above the ground inviting reptiles and bugs to enter the room. The pillows on the bed were flat and there was no headboard for the bed. The WiFi is TERRRRIBLE! There was loud music playing throghout the night. Parking was horrible. It seems local people live at this location and they hangout around the property as if it's their personal patio while their kids play loudly in the pool. All of this put a damper on what should've been a great vacation to The Bahamas. I will NOT be returning to this property. The title Resort should NOT be in their name.
