The Holiday Inn Express at the Bahamas is a beautiful location right along the ocean, and so far has been an almost perfect vacation spot. The front desk staff is nice and welcoming. The bartenders by the pool are nothing but attentive and wonderful!
However, we have hit a few snags on our so far wonderful trip. As we are staying in a room for four people, and have four guests on our reservation, getting the number of towels for all of us has been incredibly difficult. To waiting more than six hours to get fresh towels to the room, to housekeeping sending only one towel but insisting they sent more has been an annoyance, something that we would not care about however with us constantly needing to shower from being by the beach all day it’s just a small thing that should not be the issue it is, along with it almost impossible to get clean linens and the room done daily as well. We have had to ask every day for towels and when we can see clean towels in the laundry room they say they have none. We are met with resistance and have to ask multiple times for towels, only to be given one or two at a time hours apart. The reason we are given is that they are in the dryer for hours, each time we ask, but again we can see them.
With all of this being said, we hope to continue our vacation for the rest of the week that we are here in the nice pool with the local scenery and lovely beaches.

Hello Y8681LHgabriellem, Thank you for your patronage of Holiday Inn Express And Suites Nassau. We provided a quality stay in an environment of peace and simplicity. The hotel is located on one of the busiest intersections on the island. That's the downside, but the upside is that its a great location. Its across the street from Junkanoo Beach, .5 mile from Straw Market and fish fry. The staff was friendly and helpful. The room includes a complimentary breakfast that serves American, European and Bahamian foods. Lots of choices. The hotel itself is definitely older and rooms could use a refresh, but they were clean and bed was comfortable. We had a peek-a-boo view of the beach. The downside is that you hear traffic all the time - just like any busy city center. It was much better on the weekend. I was prepared and brought earplugs, but didn't need them. I used my IH points so didnt pay much. I did get 2 free bottles of water for being a Gold Member, so that was a bonus.

I give it that because it had some awesome breakfast and breakfast staff.

Loud location to stay (not hotel's problem but you need to know). Outside is dark so you are slightly concerned at night for safety. When we went to check in and go to room, room door was not locked or door completely closed.

Our room has NO darkening shades and a light right outside window so room was well lit all night. Toilet seat was bolted onto bowl but too far back and seat did not come to edge of toilet.

Safe is so far down you have to get on your hands and knees to use it.

Rooms are clean but the list the price in the $160 range but after VAT taxes, Resort fee, and Energy Levy you pay $265 a night. Why not just advertise what you are planning on charging us????????

Hello STEVE H, Thank you for reaching out to us, we value your feedback. Your stay at our property could have definitely been better. As you had mentioned, the room either lacked amenities or amenities in the room were not situated more conveniently. We want our guests to have an engaging place to rest, provide you with efficient and seamless experiences and fresh, practical, and efficient accommodations. In this case, we were not able to deliver the entire package. In spite of this, we thank you for commending the staff at the breakfast bar and the food that was served. Our Hotel Management, particularly our maintenance team, has taken a closer look into these concerns and are finding ways to ensure that these instances do not recur. We hope that you can find time to visit us in the future and give us another chance to host your stay. Safe travels. Hector P Case Manager IHGService

Not a luxury- but also not extremely expensive. Car park is tiny. Breakfast was OK- I particularly liked yogurt shots. My only complaint would be the noise- but it was coming from the shacks on the beach. Yes, the beach is just across the street. There is a very nice restaurant almost next door, Ichiban. Nassau is not big, so one can walk to a lot of places, I felt rather safe. Ladies at reception very friendly. If I am lucky enough to one day return to Bahamas, I will definitely stay there again.

Terrible experience. Does not live up to IHG hotel standards! We choose this hotel because it’s IHG property and the online photos looked lovely. However, the photos on the website are misleading. It is outdated, under staffed, dirty, and rundown. It is across from Junkanoo beach but the music is loud and many annoying vendors bug you constantly to buy stuff. To get across the street from the hotel to the beach is unsafe; no crosswalk, walk signal does not work, and traffic light is always green to cross traffic; cars do not stop for people. The same “famous” Junkanoo beach is shared with hundreds of guests that get off the many cruise ships nearby. Overall, the hotel is at a noisy and busy intersection. The security gait to the hotel does not lock unless you purposely slam it! The pool is nice but area is old and nothing like the website photos (furniture is faded and stained, fence is rusty, Pergola is makeshift of wood). The floors in the room are luxury vinyl and every crack between tiles has black mold. I do not think the floors have been washed since the flooring was installed. The sink and bathroom floor had hair when we entered and no one cleaned the hair from the sink and floors even after a complaint. Shower has mold at all caulking and water pressure is poor (one day the water was not even working for a couple hours). The bathroom doors and hinges are old and hinges are grossly rusted with the wood peeling off the back of the door too. Several times they were out of towels and did not replace the ones they removed from the room. One day we asked for room service and all that was done was the garbage was emptied and dirty towels removed; no cleaning, no new towels, no bed made! I gave 2 stars because the staff at front desk is receptive and the breakfast each morning was pretty good (except always running out of plates, cups, and utensils). The beds and pillows are comfortable and linen was clean. The location to walk downtown is convenient. The hotel is in process of training new staff, (and there is construction equipment on site, but in 4 days we saw no one working on the construction); it is not worth the high price per night they are charging. We are not going back.

The hotel is in a good location for walking to places and it has beach access across the street. The beds and rooms are clean, and for the area, it’s reasonably priced. They
also hold your luggage after check out for no additional charge. Rooms have a microwave, fridge, safe, and complimentary coffee and tea.

But, for my money, I am looking for basic amenities and courtesy and this hotel is sadly lacking.

Staff at the desk are courteous, but the rest of the staff are not. They are loud and noisy in the morning way before 7 am making sleeping in after a long flight impossible; hallways are not carpeted, so sound echoes a lot. The hotel is a bit run down and they don’t have adequate hot water. After 4-5 minutes, our shower went cold.

There is not enough seating in the breakfast area. Chairs are a commodity. There is food variety like French toast, real scrambled eggs, I know as I had shells in mine, sausage , bacon, baked beans, yogurt, bread choices, cereal, coffee and juices. However, many labeled food items had other food inside or the item was not there. For example, open the breakfast potatoes tray and the dish was empty— not being served that day. The food was ice cold. As one of trays was not working at all, and the other tray was barely keeping the eggs and sausage warm. They were cold after reaching our table.

The thermostat in our room didn’t work. So we were not able to find a comfortable temperature for sleeping.

Next time I will pay a little more for more basic amenities and quality. Quiet from staff in the mornings, hot food, hot shower, comfortable room temperature matter to me.

Room was adequate.
Pros: right on junkanoo beach, walking distance to Nassau area, kicking air conditioner
Cons: room was not clean, towels not clean, pool bar not staffed.. ever. Staff was more interested in taking care of themselves than guests. During breakfast they would ignore guests while they prepared food for themselves and what I can assume was their families. They were having things like omelette s while guests waited for food to be filled at the buffet. On Friday night they had a karaoke party with food for what looked like staff and friends, whoever it was there was loud not good singing until about 11pm, was not a great stay.
Not the worst stay I have had but for the price maybe the worst value.

On a side note, the restaurants in the Bahamas are all insanely overpriced for the uninitiated. Plan for $150 for four people to have a decent meal. There is a McDonalds and BK nearby if that's your thing on vacation.

We decided to stay at this hotel in Nassau for one night so we could catch our flight out the next morning. I am a Diamond member with IHG and have stayed in many different hotels in their portfolio. This one is the WORST. They charged me over $300 for a "Suite" for one night. The suite consisted of a two-queen bedroom with a couch. The furniture in this suite was very dilapidated and in great disrepair. All the furniture, the floors, and the fixtures had paint smears everywhere. It looks like they just went in with buckets of paint and repainted without even covering anything. The room was generally dirty with dust and grime. The bathroom was extremely small—so small that the door would hit the toilet. We went out to get something to eat, and on our way back into the hotel, we were accosted by a person in the property's courtyard trying to sell us drugs. We had my six-year-old daughter with us. The noise from the street is also very loud, and while I know this is not the property issue, I want others to be aware that it is a problem.

I always thought IHG was a great organization with some excellent brands. However, they recently proved this not to be the case. My group was staying at a Holiday Inn Express in Nassau. There was a hotel fire which caused us to be evacuated in the middle of the night. I was alerted only because a member of my group requested the front desk call my room and wake us up. The hotel was full of smoke but there were no fire alarms and the sprinkler system didn’t activate.

We had to catch a plane in a few hours so my last night in the Bahamas was spent breathing smoke and watching the firemen put out the fire. For putting our lives in danger (anything can catch on fire but really, no alarms?), the hotel graciously decided not to charge us for the night spent watching the hotel burn. Really? I contacted IHG three times and asked to speak with management. Two of the times, the concierge said someone would contact me within 48 hours. After calling the third time, I was told management would not be calling me back and tough luck that they ruined our vacation and could have killed us. Keep this in mind next time you book an IHG and realize you do so at your own risk. PS, the hotel staff was lovely. My beef is with the ownership

Booked to stay one night, but didn't last 40 minutes. Check-in was relatively seamless if not a bit slow. However, it became clear that the photos on the hotel site were taken when the place was still in good condition. It's extremely rundown and had a very odd smell. The room was awful with paint peeling and a suspect smell. The final straw was that light fixings and panels were hanging off the ceiling. One panel that for the electrics actually fell off and almost hit me. I decided to stay somewhere else but was only refunded my tax. Maybe if I have actually been hit by the panel I would have go a bigger refund. Considering I was only there 40 minutes, the check-out process was ridiculously slow. There are much better hotels in the area for a similar price where you don't fear being hit by ceiling fixtures. I would avoid for now.
