My wife and I booked a long weekend at Atlantis for her 50th. birthday. This was something that she wanted to do for a number of years with the expectation of a great stay. We booked the package through Spirit Airlines.

I have to say this hotel is absolutely beautiful, but I don't care if you spend $100 or $1000 a night for a room, hotels are in the service business, are they not? Well, first of all I am a small business owner, and I...More

I would ask your cab driver to stop at the grocery store on the way to the resort from the airport and stock up at the large supermarket. Depending on the mood of your children at the time, maybe have one of you go straight to the hotel and check in with them, and the other one shop alone. I don't know which part of the resort you're booked into or if you'll have access to a microwave/refrigerator. If the fridge isn't included in your room, place a request for one. It's an extra $15/day but worth it for you. We ate breakfast in our room every day & lunch a couple of the days. Sounds like you'll be doing lunches every day as well. Don't forget snack foods. Bring cereal, snack bars etc from home. Also bring paper bowls, plates etc. Planning ahead will save you hassle and money. Enjoy!

We used Cheryl's Taxi Service while we were there in Feb. I don't remember the prices, but they were reasonable and the driver (Cheryl's husband) was very accommodating. We stopped by a grocery store on the way to the hotel and booked our return trip to the airport at that time. We were given their contact info and they made several referrals to good restaurants in Nassau and we booked 2 trips in to the town for dinner while we spoke. Totally friendly, knowledgeable and very willing to take us anywhere we wanted to see. We wished we had had the time to take an island tour the convention schedule was such that we really couldn't swing it. Next time! Oh and they gave us info on B&B's in town and home rentals that we will use next time we're in town rather than stay at a resort.

"Do not use the phone in your room, we made a phone call to Miami, probably 8 minutes it costed $ 93,45"
