The Atlantis - Harborside Resort has elicited mixed reviews, with many guests appreciating its prime location near attractions and scenic views, while others have taken issue with the high costs and additional charges for essentials like WiFi. Though some travelers have found the rooms comfortable, others suggest they require updates and better maintenance. The hotel's service and atmosphere receive varying opinions, with some praising the staff and newly refreshed areas, but others pointing out instances of unhelpfulness and dated decor. The inconsistency in amenities, from closed pools to missing basics, has also been a point of contention among guests.

I booked here because they had all the amenities needed for a family, such as a kitchen and washer/dryer. The room itself was newly renovated and had a great pullout couch, which was very comfortable. The room clean, but had a moldy, mixed with new paint smell and the bathroom tile grout was black in many areas. I spent 5 nights and was supposed to get daily cleaning and only received 1 proper cleaning the 2nd day…which we came home very late, so we just slept that night. The next day when they came to clean, I let them that they didn’t need to clean that day, but please come back tomorrow. I did not get service the next day…came back late again that night and housekeeping was already done for the day. I requested housekeeping the next day and I was told they need to clean it now or I would not get it cleaned, so they came and did a basic cleaning for 10 minutes while my family was in the room. On top of that our washing machine did not work properly after several attempts to get it fixed. I would call them on the phone and physically went to the front desk to let them know there was no water running through the machine. I was not there when they came to service it, but because the machine went on they assumed it worked, so they did not fix it. Kept asking to get it fixed but they did not accommodate. Supposedly my phone in the room showed up as the room next door. This is when the frustration started as they kept on insisting that I was another room number until they said you are checking out in 3 days and I had to tell them I’m checking out tomorrow and that’s when he realized my phone was showing up as another room,
The tv in the bedroom was not setup and it took 3 days to have it fixed. If I did not have so many issues, we would have had an amazing stay! The water park, beaches and aquarium’s are amazing. The Atlantis property itself is worth it! They have shuttle buses back and forth, but the wait is about 20-30 minutes, so we ended up walking through the marina some days. There are many restaurant options, so you will need to make reservations as it fills up fast. Overall the resort is amazing, but my experience with harborside wasn’t worth the money and stress for a family vacation.

Been coming to Bahamas since I was young! My home away from home.

Even though the pointe restaraunt had a fire and won’t be open until end of the year, the pool has a concession stand with great food and delicious drinks. Yes, it’s pricey, but that is every resort. Highly recommend the jerk chicken sandwich! Also, they def. Don’t short you in any liquor and the drinks were very very strong!

There are plenty of places to eat across the street and many Starbucks and Dunkin’ Donuts for coffee, etc.

Anthonys across the street was amazing. Happy hour every day from 3 to 6 and HUGE amazing drinks! With a huge menu and delicious food.

We took the van service to and from the grocery store and they have grocery carts for transportation to the room. They also have a liquor store across the street from the grocery store.

We stayed in building 5 which seemed like the room had brand new items such as carpet, bedding, sofa, curtains, etc!

The service at the front desk upon check in was great.

I love the marina at night to see all the nights and the fact you can go to Atlantis at any time you want and come back to harborside to relax and escape the busy crowds over there.

The Bahamas beaches are breathtaking with crystal clear water and sooo many sea turtles to see by the grassy areas.

The only negative things I have to say is that it’s 2024 and Internet and WIFI should be free without the hefty charge. I connected to my data roaming every day through Verizon and saved some money that way.

The slides at Atlantis can use some upgrading and maintenance as many slides were closed several days while we were there and the lazy river closed down for water issues one day for several hours.

Looking forward to next year for our return visit!!!! See you soon Bahamas!

Atlantis is a beautiful resort the Harborside portion is similar to a timeshare. Everything was clean the bathrooms could stand some updating the customer service and staff were mostly very hospitable. But be prepared to be nickeled and for every little thing. Be sure to read the small print before you go and do not assume that anything is free if you have questions call the 800 # before you go. All in all I found Atlantis to be overpriced, and I have no problem with paying top dollar for a top of the line vacation.

We understand that we were there during the off season, but it was hard to know what resturants would be open. The app wasn't up to date AND you had to have the daily WIFI plan to be able to use the app. We stayed at the Harborside and were assigned a room in one of the buildings that had not yet been renovated. The room we were in had problems. The aircondiitioning vent in the bathroom was leaking - RUNNING- water from the vent onto the bathroom floor. We had big puddles and wet towels during our whole stay. We called the front desk several times and maintenance arrived to "fix"it. We found out during our stay that another family had been in the room just prior and reported the issue, yet we were still put in that room. We were never given the option to change to a different room or to one of the renovated buildings. The swimming pool at Harborside was closed for repairs. Prior to coming to Atlantis, we were informed that it would be completed prior to our arrival. It was not open during our stay, nor was the resturant. This meant that any time we wanted to do anything we needed to take the shuttle to another location to swim or eat. This did get old. It is apparent that the Harborside was in need for updates. My understanding is the renovations are happening slowly. Staff should provide better customer service and should not have put us up in a room that had known issues.

Lipstick on a pig. Oh where to start. This place is really below Marriott standards. It was very dated, the pillows were maybe the worst I’ve ever experienced. It’s right on a noisy road, the food is way overpriced (compared to Aruba, St. John, and st Thomas) and the $24 fee for WiFi???? Ignore all the great pics. Those things are across the harbor and there is only one very sad pool on property. This is the final straw that has me selling my Marriott vacation club points and giving up being Chairman’s level. Too many of their resorts are becoming closer to Courtyard or Fairfield level. Zero quality control and consistency. They need to spend more of their time in making the existing resorts nicer and less time trying to sell memberships.

Harborside is the worst place on the island to stay. The concierge was rude, she only cared about getting us set up for a Marriott Presentation since we are ownders. We had no assistance with our luggage upon check in and it was in the pouring rain. We accidently locked ourselves out of our SECOND room we paid for and we were NEVER able to get back inside. They never sent up maintenance to assist and We had to leave personal items in there even upon leaving. The jets in our spa tub didn't work and it took days for maintenance to come fix them. When they did come they were rude and again acted like we bothered them even noting a problem. The waitstaff at the restaurant by the pool were rude and acted like we were "bothering" them. Took oever an hour to get chicken tenders and fries and were were one of two tables there on a monday around 6pm. The ice bin was missing from our room freezer so we couldn't have ice made. The room safe kept kicking out error codes so we had to have someone come and reset the safe a few times. This place was a mess! The staff doesn't give you ideas of things to go and see or do. They just push for presentation or tell you to utilize the waterpart. We are in our 40's with no kids. We wanted excursions and they did not want to tell us about anything going on outside of "atlantis" property. Very disheartening.

Absolutely the worst! We have visited Harbourside many times over the last 15 years. We are Marriott Vacation Owners. We trusted that our 80 year old plus parents, travelling on their own would have a wonderful week, like they have had before. What a disaster! They were given a room with two flat pillows and no bedding. They were brought sheets and one thin blanket. For the entire week they had no heat. They used towels from the pool to try and keep warm (I wondered why they always had their Eddie Bauer down vests on in pictures). But that is not the worst, the room they were given had no hot water at all! They could never have a shower on their vacation. They called and called the front desk for help and received repeated visits but nothing was ever done. The pools on the property are not heated so that did not help either. We are completely disappointed that this happended and our parents were treated so poorly and taken advantage of, what has happened to Atlantis Harbourside? It used to be the place you couldn't get into if you tried 15 years ago.

If we had booked through the Atlantis site this room would have cost $4500 USD for one week or $6,000 CDN. Please save your hard earned money and go somewhere else where you will not be taken advantage of.

Staying at the Harborside is for those who don’t travel or who have low expectations and just want to have their one family vacation.

When I didn’t receive any outreach from a concierge prior to arriving, like I’ve always had when going to any of the other timeshare locations, I knew it was going to be an issue. Everything was overpriced. The restaurants were crowded and they didn’t honor reservations despite making it hard to get them. At Harborside they charge $25/day for Wi-Fi which is absurd, this isn’t 1990.

Basic amenities like getting fresh towels the same day wasn’t an option. We called around noon and were told we’d have to wait until the next day for more to be brought over from the main property. I even tried to stop one of the housekeepers for an extra set and she claimed the same, which didn’t make sense as she was flipping the rooms for new guests and I could see her fully stocked cart.

Don’t try to go to the pools on the main property before lunchtime or you and your family will be sharing one lounge chair, while surrounded by empty chairs with towels on them with no returning guests. The beach itself was beautiful but again wait until after lunch to try to even attempt to get a lounge chair.

We ate food from most of the grab and go places by the pools since no one would bring drinks or take our food orders from our chairs. We had dinners at The Point (lovely view, basic food options), Bimini Road (not authentic, they must season their food for their main clientele), and Fish by Jose Andrés was an utter let down. I’m a huge fan of Jose Andres and all that he does and have supported his restaurants all over the country for the past 15+ years but his outlet at The Atlantis was hands down the worst, mostly due to the hostesses, extremely slow service and overpriced meals and wine selection.

Advice: Go to the Super Value grocery store right across the bridge to stock up on water, snacks and other basics. Don’t get a bunch of meats because there are no grills on premises. Again a first for any timeshare. The taxi charged us $18 to drive 0.8 miles, needless to say we walked back. It was early in the morning and a nice day so we didn’t mind the 15-minute walk. You’ll get your exercise walking from property to property, we only used the shuttle a few times.

I don’t think we will be back to this resort. The Atlantis complex was beautiful and ver large, but Harbourside was inconvenient. They would not resupply any products in our room and we had to wash our own towels.

The food at the resort as well as at Atlantis was very good but extremely expensive.

The staff was very good and very nice, but did not make up for all of the inconvenience that we experienced.

Checkin was easy, although the front desk rep said that the Harborside is not affiliated with Marriott Vacation Club. She literally pointed to a sign saying it was Atlantis. She is wrong. This resort is affiliated with MVC. Most of the guests staying there are owners, know owners and are renting etc.

Rooms-def need updating. Rugs need to be pulled out and bathroom/kitchen needs to be updated asap. Furniture-couch chairs seem new.

Cleanliness- in surveying the room we realized there were soiled sheets on the bed. Alerted the front desk and manager, they changed the bed and that was pretty much it. Housekeeping needs to up their cleaning game.

Bottom line-nice Sunset Point restaurant onsite, easy walk to all of Atlantis amenities. This resort misses the mark with cleanliness and customer service. Who wants to spend vacation advocating for clean sheets and arguing with the front desk on whether this is an MVC property? Not me.

There are no fees and full access and plenty of availability. Like anywhere else, if you want chairs in prime locations, you need to get out early to save them.

It is possible but dependent upon occupancy levels. You should ask at check in and periodically as you stay progresses.
