This place was outdated, only nice thing was the view of the ocean. The entire place is stuck in the 70’s the bathroom had a foul odor, the bedroom was ok at best. The living room smelled like cigarettes, the staff was super friendly for the most part with the exception of a few who tried to do some slick things. Like when it came to a timeshare presentation and the gifts afterwards. There are fees they did not disclose for going on the trip. There aren’t any excursions at all at the resort. The pool is small, the restaurant is overpriced and the automatic charge they add on for dining in or buying anything at the resort is a joke. I would never go back to this place, all they want is your money by any means.

It's an OK location but temper your expectations. We had to ask for a blender and frying pans to use in the room. Keep your valuables locked in the safe when you leave your unit of they may go missing-We lost an iPad and wireless earbuds. With that said, we felt perfectly safe the entire time, never threatening. They had security at the resort and the people in the Bahamas were very friendly and welcoming. The water in the room was a little "salty" tasting so consider buying bottled. We had a "shared balcony" which would have been weird had there been anyone in the next unit over. The best part of the resort was the little tikki hut just down the beach, called "Bernies" which served up some of the best cracked conch we had on the island! Their other seafood dishes were pretty tasty too! (Lobster tails & whole snapper). We went during the off season (and under C19 restrictions) so it was very quiet and relaxing.

Our family was so excited about this trip, and we were so disappointed with Island Seas Resort. The public areas were very nice and the linens were clean. We had three units, and each one was disappointing. Mold on the windows and in the shower, Crumbs in the kitchen drawers. Ceramic tile breaking up. Drywall falling apart. The kitchen in our unit had a skillet that should have been thrown away a long time ago. We had ample plates, cups, glasses, and silverware. We had one small bowl, big enough to stir up a few eggs. My daughter's unit had a lg mixing bowl and a cheese grater, but ours did not. Our bedroom and bathroom smelled like urine. I asked housekeeping to come and clean the bathroom, but it still smelled horrible. If you're going to put ceramic tile in the bathroom, you have to seal the grout so that it doesn't soak up urine. No paper towels and apparently, toilet paper is in short supply. We had a two bedroom unit with two bathrooms, and we were given two bath towels and one washcloth in each bathroom.

We were told that we would be able to get into our rooms at 3:30, but we didn't get our rooms until 4:30. We had groceries sitting in the car, while we waited.

We ordered food at the bar, in the pool area, and waited over an hour for food, while we waited to get into our rooms.

The staff was pleasant. Housekeeping came in each day to empty garbages, whether you answered the door or not. It's a bit shocking when housekeeping just walks into your unit. There is also no shuttle to the airport.

I would definitely not recommend Island Seas Resort!

With RCI timeshares, you have to keep expectations low. That way, you can be pleasantly surprised versus eternally disappointed. That being said, we were very pleasantly surprised at this resort. It was in a beautiful spot, with a lovely beach. Although the decor was slightly dated, the attention to detail was there, including artfully folding our towels, changing towels every day, and raking the beach. We had a lovely time on the island, and went to some beaches that were completely deserted except for our family. The pool and grounds were lovely, and we enjoyed our entire time there. Perks included a workout room and laundry. The restaurant served lovely meals right next to the beach. All staff were very friendly. We would absolutely go again, and I would recommend this resort to anyone.

Beware, there are 3 buildings across the street behind the main property that are part of this resort. We were put back there instead of the main property. The main property is gated and has guards, across the street there are gates but they were open 24 hours a day and no guard. We booked this trip thru RCI and are RCI gold members, We were given gold bracelets but were not given a room on the main property. We complained that we were across the street and not on the main property, they said all the rooms were full, but to check back every morning and they would move us when a room was available, never got moved, every morning they said no rooms available. On the third day we went to their time-share and they said if we bought into the time share they would move us on to the main property immediately, ocean view room, garden view, anywhere we wanted to be, plenty of rooms available, just pick one!!! Will never go back there!!!. The main property was nice, about average compared to the other beach resorts that we have stayed at. The floors in our room were very dirty, if you walked around in sock they were black in about 5 minutes, maybe that is just the rooms across the street, don't know, won't be back so we will never know. Plenty more places to stay besides here. We have done a lot of traveling and have never left a bad review before, we are just common people and pretty easy to please but this place made us feel that we need to warn others about it!!!

Our unit was in the main area of the resort near the pool and beach. The staff was wonderful and very helpful. Unfortunately there were not many people there so we were unable to get enough people interested in taking some of the trips but we enjoyed the bar/pool/hot tub area and a trip to the shopping mall - Lacaya where we had a delicious lunch of cracked spiny lobster!! and the grocery store had all the food you could want at reasonable prices. If you are not an owner of this resort make sure you can get a unit in the main area not across the street!

As an owner at Island Seas Resort in Freeport, Grand Bahama, my vacations there are always relaxing and fun. The beach is well maintained and beautiful leading into the crystal clear turquoise blue waters of the ocean.
The staff are friendly, helpful and always ready to assist. If visitors do not choose to rent a car, taxis are always readily available. The rooms are spacious and comfortable and the views are stunning.
There are fun venues to visit nearby, such as Port Lucaya Marketplace and bars. If you enjoy karaoke, there are plenty of opportunities, both at Island Seas and nearby.
The pool is beautiful and welcoming, and Coconuts and Sea Grape Grille serve delicious food, and Java Nutz provides wonderful coffee selections.
I highly recommend Island Seas for your next vacation get away.

In my opinion, this was the perfect spot for my solo get away!! It was quiet, accommodating to my needs and so beautiful!! The staff and local people were so amazing after what they have gone through with the hurricanes lately. The resort shows very very little evidence of any storm damage at all. I would highly recommend staying here. I will be going back with my family and probably again on my own!!
Loved it here!!

Oven racks were rusted and unusable. Interior of dishwasher was all rusted, racks for plates bent and rusted and top rotator bar was broken off. Side wall of shower peeling away. Mattress cover/pad had holes ALL the way around it. Kitchen had no dishwasher soap, dish soap or silverware and rusted out can opener. Laundry baskets and irons are standard items that were also missing. There is no transportation or shuttle system and you have to request taxis for everywhere. It got very expensive. $40 for a round trip to grocery store. When we first arrived I asked about public transportation and was told there was none. On our last morning there we found out that one block down the street there is a public bus station but the staff do not tell us that because we would have to leave the property to get to it and they don't want the liability. We were there the last week of January, which is high season, yet they chose to resurface the pool during this time frame. We had no pool. There is a little room for a fitness center that had a broken treadmill and no air conditioning. One working elliptical. There is much more but I will stop here. The pictures on the website make this look like a wonderful place, but it was not. I have been timesharing at least once per year for 30 years. This was the WORST place ever. Staff were unfriendly and bothered by the simplest requests. I would NEVER go back nor would I recommend this place to anyone. The local people were wonderful so I cannot say it was all bad, but I would never, ever stay at this resort again. Proof is in the pictures, which I see no place to upload, sadly or I could prove my post.

People that work at this resort are awesome. Cannot say enough good things about all of them. As for the resort itself that is a different story. The rooms while clean are very dated. The WiFi is literally non existent. Need to connect just to get the necessary Covid test results to VeriFly was exhausting. Dial up was faster when it was the thing. Grounds are kept up beautifully. The pool water was clean but very cold and the pool itself needs a lot of work. Jacuzzi did not work our first week there and never did get above lukewarm. They advertise 2 restaurants when in reality the food is cooked in the Seascape kitchen and delivered to the coconut bar area. The beach is very nice. Again the Personell are what make this resort better than it is. One visit to this facility is all that I needed. Will not return

Answer from IslandSeasResort
The Bahamas is an archipelago of nearly 700 coral islands. Around 30 of the islands are inhabited. Each Island has it's own population and with greater populations, the greater potential for issues. For example, Nassau with a population of around 350,000 people, the danger there is higher than in Freeport that has like 30,000 people and is safer. Island Seas Resort has security officers at the resort 24 hours a day.

EVERYTHING is expensive there so bring whatever you can. We found more local food to be really good. There are a couple of rather rough looking places as you walk on the beach that turned out to be fun with great local food. Still not cheap, but better and the people were very friendly.
