Things to note we stopped in Miami to catch our flight to Freeport. The airport only uses credit/debit cards. It is cashless. When on the island many places only took cash. If you’re using a card have your I.D.- you need it when you use your card is some places. Pros – • extremely clean, rooms, main areas, beach, pool are spotless. • It comes with everything you need, from dishes, pot and pans, dishwasher/laundry soap to shampoo and moisturizer and coffee. • There is a coin op laundry on site – pay for tokens at the main desk. • There is an elevator that goes as high as the 3rd floor/if you ‘re on the fourth floor you have to walk up one. • The staff are extremely pleasant, polite and helpful • Appliances are dishwasher/microwave, full size fridge and stove top • The beach is beautiful, very private, calm and clean • There is a water slide in the pool area • The pool itself has tubes to float on • There is a large area for wading so great if you have kids • The room has a safe and security at the front gate. Cons • There is no WIFI in the room. You have to go to the common area to use WIFI. The room we were in we could get Wi-Fi from our deck. We were fairly close to the main building on the 4th floor. • The TV has a lot of channels, but TV in the living room had a lot of snow • There is no bathtub, shower only • There is no oven, stove top only, so no make your own pizza • We were there on a day it was only 14C/57F Jan. 21/24 – the rooms only have very thin, very tired, very old blankets. • Before they would give us our room keys we had to go over and listen to a promotion on attending a time share meeting. After 3 connecting flights and 16-hour travel time, this was not welcome. While writing this review I received a phone call reminding me about a time share meeting. Before I left home, I booked a rental from the Freeport airport - Hertz. Went on Kayak, at the time Hertz was cheapest, $92 CAD for 24 hours. I thought would save cab and allow us to buy groceries for the 2 weeks we are here. When you return the car they shuttle you back to the resort, no charge. We checked out several grocery stores and found the one down the road from the resort was good. You can walk there from the resort, but it will take 30 mins one way. Take a back pack. Groceries are insanely expensive. A plastic container of strawberries was 12.99, same strawberry supplier I buy from in Canada, for 3 – 4$ at home. A can of soup was over $6, a carton of eggs, 12$. We brought our own coffee, thankfully. If you have children, I recommend packing a large peanut butter/granola bar, snacks etc… Where you buy things is big. We went to liquour store to get some Baileys. A little half and half for my coffee was over $10. Small baileys at a local wine shop was 25$. The next day with the car we went to the Phluid Phactory where a knock off Baileys, large bottle was 24$. The resort has a shuttle that will take you to Solomon’s grocery, the biggest grocery store on the island, so you don’t need a car. It runs every few days. There were very few people at the resort. If you’re looking for someplace to relax you found it here. The staff are very nice an accommodating. All the equipment you need for shuffle board/basketball etc… are at the front desk. You have to leave a $20. Deposit, depending who’s at the desk. Beware drinks at the pool bar. The liquor was 150 proof. One drink was one drink too many. The beach is pristine, and very quiet. Not much else to do. They have a lot of cable channels, but the screens are very fuzzy. I would download a bunch of movies before you go. You can go to the Lucyana Market all day, you just need to walk across road and catch the free ferry. It takes about 15 mins, it’s a very nice ride. Goes every hr and comes back on the hour. Had dinner there twice, not terrible expensive and food was good. Read the menus before you go in. They change depending on the time you’re going for dinner. …
