Our restaurant will pamper you with a diversity of dishes including exotic island specialities. Free WiFi in the restaurant. Kayaks, stand up boards, snorkel gear is free of charge for our guests. We had a great 6 days here with Gregor and Maria. THe place is beautiful Its secluded at the northern end of Cat Island but its not too far out. 15 mins down a pretty rough road, just take your time. Having a car is almost a must but they can be rented locally or Gregor can arrange for you. Get a CRV or suv with some clearance. Shannas has an incredible beach and they have kayaks, paddle boards etc. There is only space for about 10 guests so this is not Sandals. You would not be going to Cat Island if you want a Sandals experience anyway. Meals are done there everyday and they ask the day before if you want dinner the next night. First I want to say that Maria is an absolute treasure and sweetheart. She and Gregor went out of their way to accommodate our dinner needs and make our stay wonderful. Maria is a wonderful cook and all of our meals were great. The rooms are just the right size and we enjoyed our porch overlooking the water and watching the hummingbirds. The beach is truly beautiful and there are several to choose from that you can walk or kayak to and the only footprints you see are your own. We spent our week paddle boarding, kayaking to a beautiful reef to snorkel, and walked for miles. If you want a quiet, relaxing vacation with wonderful host, good food, and a breathtaking view this is your place. Thank you so much Maria and Gregor!!

Shannas Cove Resort is a very special find ! Gregor and Maria are the perfect hosts and ensured that our experience was everything that we hoped. The property is well maintained, the bungalows are very comfortable and in a spectacular location if you are looking for a quiet, remote, rejuvenating time on a beautiful island in The Bahamas. We have traveled to many beaches in The Bahamas … this may be our favorite. It was everything we hoped it would be …. And more. The bar and restaurant are a real, natural central gathering place and the food was superb ! We highly recommend a stay. It’s a gem !

You will never find hosts more concerned with your experience! Maria and Gregor are excellent hosts and they care very much that you enjoy yourself. We have travelled all over the Bahamas and the Caribbean and are pretty picky so this review is through that lens. Pros: food was good, staff was warm and helpful, beach is beautiful, secluded and pristine with clear water and white sand. Excellent homemade pizza! Cons: Here's the posh warning: accommodations are very primitive, little to no hot water, bed is a thin mattress on a concrete base, air conditioners are spotty, beach chairs are a bit worn and are not padded, towels are worn thin. You can snorkel but you won't see much - no reef. The website makes it sound like snorkeling and Orange Creek are close - they are not. …

Hello Melissa, thank you for the nice review, we really appreciate it. to your posh warning, please consider we are a 3 StarResort , posh means to expect a 5Star Resort !! to your cons: Hot water was just a moment we changed the propane right now for you after it runs out, we don't understand very primitive as you can see all other guests who made their review "s was very VERY HAPPY! Even for snorkelling you didn't ask where to go to see the reef, one is 25 feet out of our BEACH?!? Sure you can choose the dinner if you want 3 course or not we are wondering, because we ask every night before what you like and yes we are here on a remote island and always try to serve the best grown organic local food. We really apologise for the cab driver, but be aware he IS NOT OUR BUSINESS, we spoke to him and he is willing to give back a refund. We always say here when you are happy we are happy you didn't say one word about the accommodation here to us.

I can't say enough about how wonderful Shanna's Cove is. The minute we arrived, Gregor and Maria met us at our car and I knew from that moment we were in good hands. Such lovely people! They both went out of their way during the week to help us with anything we needed. The bungalow was very roomy, bigger than a typical hotel room. We loved having the fridge in the room as well as the open shower. Sitting out on our veranda for coffee each morning was such a lovely start to the days. The view was indescribable and we were kept company by beautiful birds and lizards. We have traveled to beaches all over the world and Shanna's Cove is right up there at the top. We’ve experienced the closest thing to heaven during our week with Gregor and Maria. From our initial planning to our travel, to our stay at Shannas Cove, everything was wonderful! Gregor and Maria are the best kind of hosts. Caring, friendly, knowledgeable, efficient, clean and most importantly, excellent chefs and bar keepers! The meals each day were over 5 stars! I have not one single area of improvement to offer regarding our accommodations other than a wish that it never changes. Between the amazing food, beautiful beaches, comfortable accommodations, astounding views and the best people ever, we decided to not leave Shannas during our week. Gregor and Maria 5 ⭐️ for the welcoming family atmosphere; very homey for such a beautiful location! Maria can cook and the staff as well. Breakfast was perfect and dinners would have been over the top anywhere let alone a locale as secluded as Shannas ! The clientele were diverse and all so friendly and welcomed me to share their dinner table on more than one occasion always some really good stories . The views create peace and the trails end with secluded and empty beaches . At the end of the day my room had a beautiful ocean view, was spacious , well equipped , and most of all spotless. I cannot wait to return with family ! I could go on and on about the island and people ! All exceptional !

Just spent 10 days at this fabulous place and can’t recommend it enough! The beaches are BREATHTAKING. The rooms are super clean, quiet, spacious and peaceful with beautiful views. The food is OUTSTANDING! Visitors drive across the island or boat in for an awesome lunch, but the dinners…oh my goodness!!!! A different 3 course meal every night that will absolutely blow your mind. Even if you do not stay here - make reservations for a Michelin Star quality dinner at the Shanna's Cover Restaurant!!! But let me tell you about the owners, Gregor and Maria, AND the staff…wonderful people with wonderful hearts! We will miss them but will see them again next year! Beautiful hotel. So relaxing. Nothing is an effort for the owners Gregor and Maria, who are so welcoming, friendly and great fun! We particularly enjoyed relaxing by the beach, and all of the water sports including paddle boarding, snorkelling and kayaking. The hotel is positioned in the far north of Cat Island, overlooking what is mostly an empty and long beach. Just blissful! The room is comfortable, with a nice spacious shower room and terrace out of the front with views across the beautifully landscaped garden to the sea. Proper wow factor! The food is lovely - especially the salads and pizzas - and every night the owners invite guests to join for drinks at the bar, followed by lovely 2-3 course meal made in the hotel kitchen.
