Rustic Luxury! Resort is well designed, scenery is beautiful, and dining is fabulous! It's the perfect venue for a story book wedding, or a long weekend getaway. Boat trips and golf carts are readily available for exploring Harbour Island! The staff was exceptional in taking care of all our needs and were lovely! We highly recommend!

Unique establishment. I loved they pick you up in a boat and take you to a private island. The food and service were top rated. The pool is amazing. If you go, make sure you have Brody sing for you. He is soooooo adorable. They open at 11 am and close when the last guest leaves.

This place could be truly incredible, but it falls short all over the place. The general manager, Garnell is super charmless and grumpy. The wifi is non existent. There was only waitress at super busy times so you could be waiting an hour for food. No-one shows you around, or where the beach towels are etc. Everything is 'island time' or 'island rules' but the hotel charges huge room rates that don't reflect the service or experience. Sadly won't be going back.

The Other Side is a unique, quite resort that is perfect with couples or small families with older kids. The entire staff was friendly, helpful and really made you feel at home. Don't expect to be waited on hand and foot but they staff will go out of their way to make your trip enjoyable. All the meals at the resort were great but pretty simple. The hotel offered free transportation to Harbor Island and set you up with a golf cart when you arrived there so it was easy get to other restaurants and explore the island. There are only 7 room at the Other Side and the resort is fairly large so it's very easy to find a quiet place to relax. I'd highly recommend this place to couples looking to unwind. We'd love to go back some day.

The best get away you can imagine. Super private, yummy food, and spectacular environment. The website photos do not do it justice. Just make sure to pack some snacks to nibble on between meals, but otherwise perfection! Good for large groups (we were 12 couples) or family trip with water-safe age kids.

My husband I just returned from a 4 night stay at TOS, we stayed in Tent 2. We had a fabulous stay, really memorable in many positive ways. As stated in some of the other reviews, I can totally see how it is not for everyone, and the model is very unique. If you are looking for barefoot luxury and you are an INDEPENDENT traveler, I promise you will not want to leave at the end of your stay. The best way to get to most of your stay is to realize this- as quickly as possible adopt a mindset that this is your luxury beach home as make yourself completely at home. You are not going to get pampered, and no one is going to anticipate your every whim. So settle in and take over the place and get to know the special people you are sharing the experience with. All the staff are lovely, but they are to that many of them and they are not there round the clock. We took the boat over to Harbour Island twice and explored in the golf cart- and had lunch at the sister property - OVC, I had a very nice massage from Yolanda in our room, we enjoyed getting to know the other guests. We thought the food was amazing and hope we can get back again! Loved the outdoor shower. Design of cottages and furnishings are right out of a magazine.

Beware that you will be charged a 15% gratuity on your nightly room rate as well as the food and beverage. We stayed here for 4 nights and paid an additional $324 gratuity on our room rate alone. That is a pretty substantial tip to the housekeepers who complete your standard daily service. The policy they have you sign is not clear on this matter, as we read it differently prior to booking. It states, “In addition to the daily rates, there will also be a 12% VAT and 15% service charge on all Restaurant and Bar charges.” Construction went on our entire first day there. Nothing like arriving in the Bahamas only to listen to a very loud bulldozer for hours on end. We would have thought that this work would have been performed perhaps at some point during the year prior, when I imagine they had little to no guests during the Covid outbreak. Other guests informed us that they had issued complaints and received a small discount for the inconvenience, of which we ended up doing as well. One night we booked dinner and arrived only to be told that they were completely out of food. This was extremely alarming to us as we were in a remote area with no other food option. We were not only pregnant, but also had our three year old with us so skipping a meal made us very uneasy. They had a few slices of bread to offer and were able to cut up some fruit at least, but we still don’t understand why we were subjected to this being a dinner on one of our only four nights of vacation. I understand running a tight operation, but it seems a little extreme to not have some kind of backup plan for food in the event that their headcount is miscalculated. We arrived well within the allotted timeframe and were told by the concierge that we were put down for dinner. We got all dressed up to go and felt humiliated by the confusion in front of the other guests. The other guests seemed uncomfortable too as they sat adjacent to us guiltily eating their meals. We had one last debacle concerning our Covid tests back to the United States. We were told by the concierge and the girl that they sent to the resort that only children 10 and up had to take a Covid test to get back to the US, however, when we got to the airport we were told that we could not board the flight because our 3 year old did in fact need a Covid test to fly back to the US. This situation ended up being a total disaster, as we had to take a taxi all the way back to the dock, take a boat ride to Harbour Island, followed by a golf cart ride to their sister resort where we had to wait for the Covid test girl to come and do our daughter’s test. The stress of this journey was intense, as we should have been sitting on our flight. We understand that the resort does not make the international policy, but feel as though they should be informed as to what it is if they are going to tell guests who should and should not take the test. It’s even more strange that they testing company they sent to perform our tests misinformed us as well. The toilet in our room had definitely seen better days. It was completely filled with rust. Not the end of the world, but a little below par even for Glamping considering what you pay. There were three of us to our room, yet housekeeping only gave us two towels most days. We managed since our daughter is young. It is great that they allow you to borrow a company vehicle to drive around the island, though we felt like we wasted an entire day based off a poor scheduling system. We were told we could have the vehicle at a certain time, but the guest that took it out before us were gone longer than they anticipated. They should give guests a time in which it needs to be returned by if they are going to promise it to someone else later that day. We were dressed and packed for an adventure but had to go back to the desk every 30 minutes to an hour to see if it was finally back. When the vehicle was finally returned, we immediately set off, but it got dark shortly thereafter so we weren’t able to make the trek to where we had wanted to go. We just felt we spent the entire day in limbo sadly. Short of these issues, we did enjoy the rest of our stay.

My husband and I were scheduled to go to St Barths for my 40th bday and when they didn't reopen in time I had one week to shift our plans for a two week trip. I had saved the other side on Instagram and knew it would be perfect for such a big event. I should preface that I work in hospitality spending years opening (and staying at hotels!) in addition to booking celebrity travel. I don't like the word "expert" but I would say I know a few things about the world of travel. We started out in Nassau for a few days, which is like vegas with a beach so when we stepped onto the other side and my husband said immediately we are not going back to Nassau, I knew I had found our paradise. Listen, it's not for everyone. If you are expecting something stuffy like a four seasons this is not for you. We absolutely LOVED we could serve ourselves at the bar and felt at home versus at a hotel. People before that said the food isn't good have lost their minds , no offense. I've worked with some of the best chefs in the world and this was the best food for being on vacation. And yes I've stayed at places like four seasons Nevis AND Anguilla and this food comes from the heart -- you feel it when you eat it. Now the best part of our vacation had to be the staff. I'm already trying to figure out how I can fly Theo the bartender to Montana for our big housewarming party. He made our vacation and we couldn't bring ourselves to say goodbye to him bc we wanted it to be until next time. Twanna and Pauline had the biggest hearts and I can say with all honesty we miss them daily. My husband went spear fishing with Chino and again, just the best kind of people you want to be around. We extended our stay four times and my husband already won't shut up about going back. Again, if you want something buttoned up like you're in palm beach go stay at the Dunmore. If you want an authentic island experience, this is one in a million. We will be back over and over.

Huge, lovely rooms right on the beach, food to die for and such hospitality from the staff. Everything we could have wished for our vacation! Borrowed their vehicle and drove on the left side to the glass bridge, blue hole and preacher's cave. They motorboated us to Two Harbors for a fabulous meal at the Landing. Drove their golf cart around town. Relaxed on almost empty beaches and snorkled with turtles and sting rays. It was EPIC! Hope to visit again. Thanks Ben & staff!

Although the water, beach and views are stunning...the bad outweighs the good. What is marketed as a quite, private island experience is really a playground for families that want to let their kids run wild at a boutique style small resort. With only 3 tents and 3 shacks on the property you would expect privacy, peace and quiet...unfortunately that was not our experience. In addition to the families (not couples) that stayed here, the owners also live on property and had a loud birthday party for their own kids, complete with slip and slide, screaming kids and crying babies. Daily, a boat brings over tourists from the bustling town across the water, Harbor Island to have lunch at the little commune style restaurant and use the private beach. These daytime guests are not supposed to use the pool, but do anyway. The tents are mediocre, lacking the luxury of a high end glamping experience. Staff is friendly but the service is much more serve yourself and we will get to you if we can. The only exceptions to that were the amazing boat driver and bartender. The website makes it look like a paradise of seclusion perfect for honeymooners or a quiet couples retreat...when in reality it more resembles the movie Lord of The Flies. Such a shame, what could be so beautiful and peaceful is being over run and overpopulated. We will not be going back.
