Welcome to our little piece of paradise! The Sunset Cove and Rainbow Room is a small boutique resort with a restaurant, pool and bar located in the hearth of Eleuthera with pristine panoramic Caribbean, gorgeous nearby beach style cottages. The Resort's location on the island makes it an ideal base from which to explore the rest of Eleuthera. Within minutes of the Resort are some of the island's top tourist attractions: Surfer's Beach, the Famous Caves of Hatchet Bay, Glass Window Bridge, the Pineapple Fields of Gregory Town, plus our own Secret Beach. We even have Bonefish Graham's "Rainbow Guide" to bonefishing on Eleuthera. Our waterfront area with its seaside tennis court and some of the best snorkeling on the island (one of the sites on the Jean-Michel Cousteau Bahama Out island Snorkeling Adventures) will provide hours of enjoyment for the whole family! The vibrant and colorful The Sunset Cove and Rainbow Room and its Rainbow Bay Club is a historic property on Eleuthera Island that has seen many transformations since it was built in the 1970. Once a Restaurant with a bed and breakfast, and then a rental property, the boutique hotel now serves as one of the most casual-sophisticated small resorts on Eleuthera Island. The property features 15 uniquely decorated rooms with three different level: Deluxe, Superior and Standard for the convenience of our guest-friends, a pool and beautiful Bahamian park overlooking the Caribbean site. The restaurant at the hotel are among the best on the island and, if you’re feeling like a stroll, there is the famous Rainbow Beach just a few minutes away from the property, or you can snorkel directly from the rocks at property. Please note that our Cottages have been kept deliberately in the decoration and style of the 70s, some guests love to feel the "old Bahamas", so please book the cottages only if you really like the old feeling. If you like modern and upscale Luxury suites, we recommend you reserve one of the Luxury brand new suites 4* Hotel. For any additional question please feel free to ask.
A relaxing getaway with stellar views of Caribbean, natural fauna, sunsets. The rooms are very comfortable with beautiful linens, plush inviting pillows, and firm mattresses. The pool is very inviting with temperate water that will cool and soothe. The restaurant Rainbow Room has a varied menu with steaks, seafood, pasta and wood-fired pizza. The food is off the chain. I had grouper the first two nights cooked two different ways- coconut crusted and blackened the second night. I had trigger fish steeped in lime and seasonings. I hope they put this on their menu. They were kind enough to cook the fish my husband had caught and it was to die for. The final night we indulged in their Paradise pork specials with grilled smoked pork roast served with coleslaw and shrimp fried rice. All their sides were on the spot whether it be Rice with Bahamian peas, Coconut rice, fried plantains, or seasonal vegetables. Of course the drink menu includes unique items such as the Rainbow Kaleidoscope with a combination of red, blue, and yellow. This drink includes three different liquors and will put you in your happy place. Their are of course non alcohol specials like the traditional Bahamas Goombay punch. The managers Andrea and Stephanie aim to please and are happy to accommodate your special requests for your stay. The staff in the restaurant also were accommodating, pleasant and anxious to ensure your experience was top notch. This place could get a Michelin star if only the reviewers found their way to Eleuthera.

Of all the myriad lodging choices in Eleuthera, I had the good fortune to pick Sunset Cove!
Even though I arrived late on a Sunday --and was unable to call Sunset due to Verizon problems-- I'm switching to Consumer Cellular this week, I had so many problems with Verizon-- I was graciously greeted by Stephanie and soon met Andre; two of the most caring and hospitable hosts I've ever encountered in a lifetime of travel! They both went out of their way --in countless ways-- to make sure I my needs were met and my belly and soul satisfied.
From patiently answering countless questions about where to eat and shop and visit... to actively helping me with my rudimentary Italian; they seemed to be Made By the God's Above to make my stay on Eleuthera one of the finest of my lifetime.
THANK YOU, Andrea and Stephanie, for your kind help and friendship offered in so many ways!
With their help I went caving, fishing, diving, surfing, exploring... and packed a month of fun into a (relaxed) week. I've visited perhaps 40+ Bahamanian Islands, and Eleuthera and Sunset Cove has become one of my favorites.

This is THE place to take a "chill out" break from the hustle and bustle of the world. For anyone who hasn't had the opportunity to visit a family island in The Bahamas, this has to be added to your bucket list. For most people, it will take a few days to "wind down" from the stress of your 9-7 daily grind, but once you do, and get on "island time" you won't regret it. You won't find any loud night clubs, discos or casinos here, nor loud drunken parties by the pool. Instead you will be rewarded with peace and quiet, a place where you can take a quiet snooze or read a book by the guest pool, a lot of time without any noise or loud screaming kids and teenagers. Just remember that you are on island time, and preplan or put in your order(s) early (or the day before,) for any special dish or cocktail of your choice, in order for the staff to accommodate you. Remember you are on "island time." Another tip: you are on an island surrounded by the sea, for the most delicious and freshest foods, stick to seafood. (Save the steaks and roasts for your next visit to Chicago.) My buddies and l took a 4 day "bachelor wind down" trip, to get in the right frame of "zen" for an upcoming wedding. So glad we chose here. The grooms party retuned home in the perfect frame of mind, for the upcoming hectic wedding day....

Our stay at The Sunset Cove and Rainbow Room left much to be desired. We arrived just at the end of the check-in hours, which close at 5 PM, only to find that the restaurant was closed for dinner. This was disappointing, especially since they don’t offer breakfast before 8 AM or even a to-go box. There were no snacks or food options available on the property or nearby, and the closest grocery store or restaurant was a 10-15 minute car ride away.
The rooms are very outdated, with many things falling apart, clearly in desperate need of renovation. Unfortunately, our room was also dirty, and we even found worms on the floor in the morning. Despite these issues, the AC worked fine, and there was coffee and tea provided in the room.
The beach is a 15-minute walk from the property, which was another downside considering the limited amenities on-site.
For what it offers, The Sunset Cove and Rainbow Room is very overpriced. There are far nicer hotels with more amenities and closer proximity to the beach available at the same or even lower price.
Hotel hast new management.

If this were based solely on staff, it would be a 5+. The manager, the housekeeper, and the restaurant staff are wonderful. The room was large, the grounds - in general - are well kept and pretty. The beach you can walk to is not a beach at all, but rather a rocky boat launch. There is a small, nice beach within a 5 minute drive. Speaking of a beach: we have travelled to a few tropical islands, every place we stayed had for use beach chairs, umbrellas, small coolers, and beach towels. The Sunset Cove & Rainbow Room provides none of this. There are not towels for the pool either; nice pool but not child friendly as it is over 5' deep on the shallow end. About 1/3 of the pool lounge chairs were broken. The pool area has a large 'lounge' area but the cushions are old & dirty. The rooms have a small refrigerator, no microwave or coffee makers. On days they don't serve breakfast, you need to drive 10-20 minutes to get coffee. The restaurant is o.k., nothing to write home about; it is the only 'game in town'. You must drive to other restaurants. The internet service is spotty; it sometimes works, sometimes does not. With a few moderations, this could be a great place.

Went for lunch and met Lavelle who welcomed us and showed us to a table on the patio. On arrival we noticed how lovely and clean everything was. Lavelle presented us with a menu and told us what was on for lunch. We ordered the grilled snapper on a freshly baked brioche roll with home fries. I can honestly say that it was the best fish sandwich I have ever had. The home fries were also delicious. Lavelle was friendly and informative and showed us an amazing album put together by the owner of some of the spectacular beaches and sites in Eleuthera. I have ordered 2 copies. We will definitely be back to sample more of the delicious items on the menu. We highly recommend Sunset Cove.

I stayed at the Sunset Cove and Rainbow room with my boyfriend for two weeks during Christmas and New Year’s Eve.
The room was a romantic bungalow well decorated with a touch of bahamian style surrounded of beautiful palms and close to the nice and peaceful swimming pool area.
Top things we appreciated more are: the amazing sunset and the moon reflected into the sea combined with a sky full of amazing stars.
The staff was very friendly and a special thanks to the owner Pino, and Stephanie&Andrew for the kindness and the island experiences they provided to us. We truly enjoyed the snorkeling, the view from the cliff, eating local foods (sweet apple).
About the food was always delicious! We love more the fish bites, the garlic shrimps, the lobster, the rib-eye and of course the pizza perfectly cooked in the wood oven!
Note, this is not a 4/5-star hotel or so, but the atmosphere is so special that it really felt like home to us. All respect for the owner who does a great job here; a true sample of excellent hospitality!

We were greeted by Stephanie and Andrea. What a warm welcome! The room was very clean and had a comfortable queen bed. The view was spectacular from the outside dining area in the restaurant. You have to try the pizza! We were able to sightsee (Preacher’s Cove, The Blue Hole, Glass Bridge, Governor’s Harbour, Hidden Beaches, Queen’s Baths and all the tiny towns in between) during the day and spend the afternoon relaxing in the pool. Stephanie’s family recipe rum, Bahamaro, was a perfect gift to bring back and give to our house sitter. I can’t wait to come back!

Great casual dining. Some of the items we wanted to try were not available otherwise a higher score. Great friendly service with well cooked meals delivered hot from the kitchen and nice cocktails and local beer. Local seafood featured was very good. We will return before we leave Eleuthera.
