Tripadvisor gives a Travellers’ Choice award to accommodations, attractions and restaurants that consistently earn great reviews from travellers and are ranked within the top 10% of properties on Tripadvisor.
Places to stay are graded on a 0-100 scale. The higher the grade, the easier it is for travellers to find restaurants and things to do within walking distance.
Ever been on a vacation that is better than you even imagined? Where the pictures can't do it justice and your accomodations live up to their hype? We came for our 25 anniv & were comfortable with eachother, solitude & fending for ourselves. Perfect place to be alone! Saw one other person on the beach all week. Explored the island from top to bottom with our rented jeep. Almost every other beach was deserted too. Felt like our own private island paradise. Deck & setting is to die for, very comfortable beds, kitchen has all you need. We brought more than we needed & saw all we could want at grocery stores. Restaurants are NOT the highlight of this trip, or nightlife. But feeling like you have an island to yourself and your own home base was incredible. Can't wait to return!

Finiterre is a great 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom house in North Palmetto Point. It is situated on the Atlantic Ocean, perched about 50 feet above the beach. There are steps down to a lower deck and then down to the beach. It was practically our own private beach!
More about the house....the kitchen is well stocked if you are interested in cooking your own meals. We did a few nights (fresh grouper). And we definitely used the blender for making drinks. The beds are very comfortable. The house is nicely decorated. The location is North Palmetto Point makes it a central location on Eleuthera, so you can head north or south to explore the island.
Jeri is a pleasure to deal with when you decide to rent Finiterre. And Andrew and Reta are great as the care takers.
About Eleuthera--if you are looking for a safe, laidback tropical paradise, look no farther. We explored many of the beaches on Eleuthera--Governor's Harbour, Harbour Island, Surfers Beach, Twin Coves, Club Med, Papaw Bay, Ten Bay, Tarpum Bay, Savannah Sound and Lighthouse Beach. They are all special in their own way. The people of Eleuthera are extremely friendly--they wave to you when they pass you driving!

My wife and I spent a week at Finiterre in March 2016. We had a great time exploring all of the amazing beaches on the island. The owner and caretakers were very attentive and easy to work with. I would recommend this for people who like a laid-back, slow-paced vacation without the need for constant attention. This is the total opposite of an all-inclusive vacation, which is exactly what we were looking for.
The house was very nice and clean. It was also very private. If you're looking for top of the line luxury, this probably doesn't fit your needs. If you're looking to get away from it all and relax, the home is a great option.
The house is close to the Banks Rd deli and Tippy's. Both were great options for great food.
The best beach was Lighthouse. It was incredible. So clean and clear, but a little tough to get to. I downloaded Google maps on my phone so that the GPS worked all the time, however, the cell service was great (we have Sprint) so the maps worked everywhere.
We rented our car from Big Daddy's. They had the car waiting at the airport for us when we arrived and promptly refunded our deposit just days after our return. I would recommend renting a 4 wheel drive for the ground clearance. I had to put it in 4 wheel drive twice due to the soft sand in spots.
Overall it was a great vacation!

I booked Finiterre quite a few years ago. My husband I were so excited to have 12 days of paradise! The place was nice. Beautiful view. However my husbands father died unexpectedly which wasv truly devastating for us. We left for home after 5 days. The owner told us that if we wished to come back within a year they would give us a week free of charge! We were so happy that we would be able to complete our dream vacation. When Itried to rebook I got no response which puzzled me. I contacted them again thinking tjat my emsil might not have reached them. Again... Nothing.. So I thought perhaps they weren't renting anymore but after checking I saw that apeople were still writing reviews so it wasn't that As a last resort my husband tried to contact tjem. Crickets. Nada. Silence. He said well I guess that's business. That's whem I said NO. That isn't business. That is cowardly and mean. If you aren't going to honour your word them DON'T promise something you have no intentionbof honouring. Shame on you Finiterre. Shame on you Happy to say I am returning to Eleuthera soom to finish my adventure. It just wont be at Finiterre. Feells good to get that off my chest.

This was our second visit to Finiterre and we would certainly go back. The view is incredible and if you don't want to be bothered--don't worry--you may be lucky to chat with two or three people on the beach all week. The roads on the island are rough and you must have a car to get around to the few restaurants and grocery stores but it is all worth it. The people there are so friendly and welcoming. You can have the beach all to yourself and catch your own dinner. There is no nightlife so don't go looking for dancing--you may find Dr. Seabreeze playing a little acoustic and singing!!
