Just had one of the most enjoyable meals we can remember - and our memories are pretty good despite the advancing years. Between us we had avocado salad and charcuterie for starters and pan fried haddock and hake with pan fried red peppers for mains. ALL were top class, particularly the hake with red peppers - possibly the best fish...

Some 40 relatives and freinds attended a lunch time birthday celebration at the end of December 2016 The place was pretty full (not just our party). Given the mass of people the staff provided a very good service and even smily faces! The quality of the food was good but we thought somwhat on the expensive side. We were asked...

in the week between christmas & new year, i was dragged out to raglan. 'you must come it's really good.' the former manager of the priory in caerleon has a new venture at a well appointed building in a charming village, on the way we passed the hardwick, where a punter had arrived by helicopter for lunch (oh come on,...

We had our company Christmas meal here on 18th December. Everything was prefect from the location, the staff at reception , the waiters and the food was of a very high standard. I would certainly return and would highly recommend.

A small group of our family booked to meet at the Beaufort for lunch as a pre Christmas get together. What a fantastic venue, looks great on the outside and although very busy has a real nice atmosphere inside and very soon felt at home. Great service, food was top quality and value. I normally only have two courses but...

A Big Thank you to Miguel and his staff for an excellent way to spend a weekend. The food in the restaurant was wonderful, the room spotless and comfortable and the ambiance of the whole place astonishing. A real winner all round.. It was very nice of you to lay on a male voice choir lol. It highlighted how wonderful...

The first person we spoke to was very helpful in finding us a table and the food was very good however customer service went downhill after that. Would recommend booking as it was very busy and staff who knew how to smile would be a plus.

We used to call in, have family meet ups here, but not any more. Really miss the atmosphere and food that was served here once upon a time. Very sad it is now owned by a chain that I feel cater for the masses and serve/ deliver sub - standard food. No definately not for us anymore!

Ten of us had dinner here. Menu was good, plenty of fish choices. Everyone seemed please with their choices and everything was eaten. My braised Welsh beef was probably the most 'boring'. but that was just a poor selection, it was well cooked. The sardines I had as a starter were lovely and two of the party had venison which...

Excellent food, service, staff and location. The menu was varied but not exhausting. Expect to pay more than your average restaurant but expect to be served a higher than normal standard of food and service. Would highly recommend. If you pick a dry sunny day then the outdoor area is also very welcoming.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Beaufort is under new ownership since October 2015 and has had a vast refurbishment throughout. The rooms in the main hotel building have been tastefully decorated with rich sumptuous medieval colours whilst the Coach House has a fresh "New England" style decor. The inn oozes quality and old world charm. The food is brasserie style with a Mediterranean twist and you can see the fresh fish and seafood on display in the lovely display counter at the restaurant entrance. There are 2 course lunch and evening special menus which are very good value and a full a la carte menu complemented by a vast wine list. ... more   less
