My wife and I stayed two nights here earlier in the week, during the coldest November snap for many years! The hotel is built into the hillside at Whitebrook, which means it doesn't get any direct sun at this time in the winter, which meant that on one of the days of our stay the outside air temperature didn't get...

We did their mid-week dinner, stay, with breakfast, which we felt was really good value. We arrived a little early and were seated in the lounge with tea while they checked our room. A beautifully appointed room with a real king size bed, not the tiny English version, and a super modern bathroom. Down for drinks before dinner and then...

Booked for a Wednesday evening. We chose the 7 course taster menu and every course was absolutely delicious. We also chose the wine flight to accompany our taster menu. Each wine beautifully complimented the individual dishes and was described in detail and served in sparkling clean glasses. The Chef came out to meet all the clients afterwards which is always...

Visited with friends for evening taster menu. There were four of us. Decor of the property is nice but nothing special. If anything I feel the place lacks any atmosphere, no subtle music playing in background etc... all you hear is silence or other guests conversations. I guess it all really comes down to what you think is value for...

Wow, what can I say other than this place is a "hidden gem" right on our door step here in beautiful Monmouthshire. My husband, son and I moved locally about a year ago but only had the opportunity to visit the Whitebrook restaurant last week, a gift to my husband for his birthday. We had the most incredible dining experience....

We visited "The Whitebrook " to celebrate my wife's birthday and given it is fairly remote decided to stay overnight. We chose the 7 course tasting menu prepared by talented Michelin Star Chef Patron Chris Harrod and were not disappointed. Each course was a delight, well balanced and full of flavour. The costs for both food and wine is what...

We stayed here two months ago, booking three of the double rooms for our stay. Each room was individually decorated and very, very comfortable. We return time after time, the first time being when James Sommerin was Exec Chef. We are thrilled to see that Chris Harrod has made this restaurant his own, as his food was delicious. The taster...

We are "Foodies" and eat out an awful lot and have to report that the tasting meal we had last week at the Whitebrook was faultless, with every different flavour standing on its own merit. We felt most of the courses were at least worthy of Michelin ** but some courses were *** and Chris Harrod, the chef, is definitely...
