We visited in August with friends, and were very pleased with the hotel. The food was very good, well prepared and nice selection. The room was comfortable, up a flight of stairs, and it was quiet, even though there is a pub downstairs. The owner was helpful, friendly, and service-friendly. The location was good for exploring the surrounding area by...

Staying at the YHA at Poppit Sands, I popped in to the Webley merely through convenience and because there is a compelling view over the sands to the harbour mouth. Friendly welcome from Simon, the proprietor, who moved here a while back from Cardiff. He spoke enthusiastically about the Welsh language and community spirit, an area where the Welsh perhaps...

We had a wonderful last minute stay at the Webley Hotel in Poppit Sands. We made our reservation on Booking.com a few hours before arriving and we weren't disappointed in our choice. It is an older hotel and is a bit quirky but very charming. Our room/bathroom were clean and comfortable, but there was a bit of peeling wallpaper and...

Absolutely fantastic lunch of baguettes with a really good side salad and bowl of chips with a stunning view down the estuary, Our young boys were well catered for and there was Peroni on tap.....even better! About a 20 minute walk from Poppit sands beach. Wonderful service and food, would highly recommend to those wanting a great lunch with a...

We came here for a family bar meal and were welcomed by Simon the owner who was more than keen to oblige us and the children. A good menu with plenty of choice ensured the whole family was catered for. The dated decor gives the bar its character and I'm certain if these walls could talk there'd be plenty of...

The 'poor' and 'terrible' reviews are completely justified. The only amazing thing to say was that the situation is stunning, so why this hotel doesn't utilise the location, is beyond me. To summarise; - tired, dated decor - potentially dangerous electrics (melted knob on the electric radiator) - stained walls - stale (used?) towels - water bubbling up in the...

Do not be fooled by the décor and interesting out door gents privy, the menu may a little interesting, but the chef can cook fish extremely well. Had the crab salad, and wife had the sole with Pembroke new potatoes, mussels as well. Simple executed , good touch with samphire from outside. if the weather is good sit outside over...
