We needed a place to stay at very short notice, a friend booked the Talbot in the afternoon and we were in the bar enjoying a beer an hour later. Its an old building with a lot of character. The bar staff were very friendly and the bar itself was stocked with a decent range of beers on tap. The...

We had a family lunch here to celebrate a birthday and the experience was not the best.I personally ordered the beef and one of the two slices has dried out and was starting to curl up,rather resembling a piece of shoe leather. The horse radish and mint sauce had to be requested on several occasions which meant the meat was cooling...

Upon arrival, I was delighted by the quaint and picturesque facade. When our group entered the premises we were greeted by a friendly, humorous bar keep. That was the heigh light of our evening. We had to ascend to the bar for our drinks, the tomatoes were anaemic, the paté resembled sick and the waitress was rude rolling her eyes...

Possibly this hotel ought to be listed as a pub with rooms if there was such a catagory, or a Inn because from what I have seen this isn't a hotel ! We stopped off at the Talbot not knowing what to expect, we were the only people in the front bar/restaurant room when we arrived on this Thursday lunch...

Difficult to give a proper review as the extensive building work across the road is obviously having an adverse effect, My wife and I called at a lunch time and very nearly continued onwards as, due to the scaffolding, builders vehicles and materials,it was difficult to see if it was even open. We persevered and are glad we did as...

Called there for lunch on a pleasant day in August. It is a lovely old pub and we were made welcome . We opted for the "two mains for £12" menu. I had the fish and chips, and my wife had steak and ale pie, while our friends had lasagne and also chicken. All agreed that the meals were excellent...

More a pub with rooms than a hotel. Pub was nice and the food was very good. Breakfast was also enjoyable. Unfortunately the rooms were not. The mattresses are old and tired, very uncomfortable. But this is not the main problem. The showers dribble at best, if you are lucky they are warm. If you are unlucky there is no...

First impressions when we arrived, despite the 'Hotel' in the name it was a perfectly sized old Welsh house converted into a B&B, restaurant and pub. On arrival, the service was amazing and friendly, with added personal touches, like escorting you to your room. The room itself was very modern, clean and comfortable, despite the older decor in the main...
