First of all, Mike & Carrie, thank you for the most amazing hospitality. Nothing was too much trouble. 7 of us stayed in 2 suites after a long Snowdon climb. The hotel was immaculate & the suites superb. The bed was one of the most comfiest I’ve stayed in, plenty of towels for each guest and a stack of tea, coffee, sweets & chocolate! The bathrooms (2 in each suite) were cleaned to perfection with a wonderfully hot shower. Breakfast in the morning was gorgeous so I would definitely recommend the full English. Carrie then offered us a takeaway hot drink for our long journey home. The hotel is set in the most beautiful surroundings & I can’t wait to go back to explore further. Thank you for a wonderful stay!
We could not find any fault during our stay at Penaeldroch Manor! The hosts (Mike, Carrie and of course Lola the Border Collie) made our holiday very special. They were incredibly friendly and helpful throughout our stay! No request was too much trouble, including cooking us a lovely, tasty home cooked meal after a long day walking up Mount Snowdon. The guest suite was ideal for our family of 6. It was very clean and modern. The location is very picturesque with a fast flowing brook running through the grounds (ideal for our family poo stick championships). We would all definitely visit again and would recommend staying here to anyone!
The building has so much character, the rooms where spotless and so cosy and fresh, the bathrooms were lovely and clean with the deepest bath! Beds REALLY comfy, 2 x bedrooms both with access to a bathroom. The TV has netflix, apps, wi-fi was spot on for the kids iPads. Tea, coffee facilities in the room and sweets left for the kids and fresh fruit. Breakfast was DELICIOUS and great value for money. Last but not least... the owners, family run, they are so friendly, welcoming, would do anything for anybody. Great stay, thank you, we will definitely be returning. The Moreno’s x
Standing alone in the Lledr valley this 19th century former hunting lodge is currently being renovated in stages. It looks a bit like a fictional haunted house from the outside with its striking octagonal tower, and there is clearly much work for the owners to do to finally restore it to its former glory, but it is smart and spotlessly clean where it matters. The three family suites in the more recent extension to the building are very well appointed, and cosy. Nice touches include locally sourced crockery and furniture. There are spectacular views down the valley from all the rooms which are only slightly marred by the presence of the A470 on the other side of the river. The hosts, who also the owners, are very friendly and helpful. They went above and beyond the call of duty to accommodate our needs, allowing us to use the garden for an extended family gathering – and providing teas and coffees for all 14 of us free of charge! The location is ideal for access to Snowdonia and the local towns of Llanrwst and Betws-y-Coed. The latter is charming but over-run by tourists (guilty!) and has the A5 right through the middle. Alternatively, if you just want to chill, you can sit in the gardens at Plas Penaeldroch and relax to the sounds of the river Lledr.…
A fantastic place to stay. We were in the top suite which was lovely - two bedrooms (one with en suite), living room and separate bathroom. Lots of goodies in the room. Breakfasts very good. Very friendly and helpful owners. Great location next to mountain river which had become a raging torrent by our second night! Would highly recommend.
