Old pub with a lot of character. Very friendly staff. The open fire was very welcome on a cold evening. Food was not the best but served piping hot with a friendly smile! You can't have it all I guess - lovely staff.

Nice and friendly local pub. The seating outside is wonderful in the summertime. We stopped here for a few drinks with forbeds. The prices were very cheap compared to other places. The ale was great. Although it is small it offers lots of choice so there is something to suit everyone. Great walk nearby if you fancy a walk and pint.

After a long day of walking on the hills, came back via Dolwyddelan castle and into the village looking for sustenance. A basic pub with standard menu, but very friendly welcome and good, freshly prepared food served by pleasant staff; excellent cask ale to complement. Lots of walking paths in the vicinity and beautiful countryside.

I have to say that this pub is definatley on the rustic side, but that's the charm of the place, almost stepping back in time, but the warm welcome, great service, two log fires and wholesome good on the menu, makes this a definate stopping point if I come back this way to visit. The owners and staff are extremely friendly and will go out of there way to assist you. The food menu was typical of the environment but I have to be honest, the vegatable lasagne I had was the best that I remember tasting in years and my friend wanted bits of the menu, and it wasn't a problem, and very reasonable too. Set on the edge of Snowdonia national park, with a castle near by and an idyllic place to explore, I would recommend this place as a stopping point on your journey. Would recommend, and would definatley go back.
